@Action51 Are you sure? Because that's the vibe I'm getting from these comments. I said second class citizens, not mean. They told you why the Wii U version was delayed, it's right there in the title and you've just palmed if off as excuses and pr spin. The Wii U port is delayed, that's how it is (it has nothing to do with low priority and crowd funding goals). Happens to other systems all the time, or should have happened.
A lot of people in this comment section have already called this a sloppy port, even though it's a mystery port.
@midnafanboy That is why they're right. Even if this game launched on time (it would be a sloppy port) but if they delayed it (there is now a conspiracy that not only it will still be a sloppy port but this is all done to treat Wii U owners as second class).
@AyeHaley No I fear for the soundtrack, some of it is faithful, some it is just making me fear. And don't mention XY to me, that just increases my fear!
While I don't really mind the name (could be better), it might come off as confusing to new customers. As for whether I'll buy, maybe as I'm not a big fan of the XL model, much used to the smaller model.
But what is a deal breaker is the spec upgrade and new titles exclusive to New 3DS. This will cause market fragmentation.
By user base he means people who purchase third party games, because install base hardly matters (Wii and DS examples come to mind). PS4 and One users are buying third party games and Vita owners... Um well Minecraft is an indie game(???) and fits in with the approach Sony has for Vita (nothing but indies & ports). Wii U/3DS owners? While the demographic fits, one quote comes to mind: "Nintendo platforms for Nintendo games only" and if it this were to happen excuses will follow if Minecraft doesn't do well (late?)
Not that it should matter because Minecraft prints money (and Sony and MS published it) wherever it goes.
@Einherjar @eaglebob345
I realise the 3DS version sold best (although more factors than just "sold best" apply here), but that doesn't change what i said. Capcom know what they're doing.
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/02/capcom_resident_evil_revelations_3ds_sales_could_have_been_better "Given the large development costs we had on the 3DS version, we would have liked to have even a little more sales than we did in the end. But that doesn't mean we saw it as a failure by any means. (NL) Reading between the lines, we can assume that the 3DS version didn't sell well enough to recoup the cost of development, hence the need for this home console edition to balance the books."
But I'll play along. 3DS version eventually (2+ yrs) went on to sell (at best) a million. Judging by Capcom's comment it was barely enough to cover development costs? Add in Marketing costs? R&D costs? Manufacturing costs? Etc etc and did it do well?. On the subject on doing better than its HD brethren, less costs are involved in HD porting process rather than the actual development (so the profit would be different). But it took only a few months for the HD brethren to reach 1.1 million in comparison to 3DS's long term effort. Both were needed to balance each other out.
In case this is TLDR: Sold best isn't the whole the story, theres more to it than that. HD brothers have less costs involved. The reason its not on Nintendo systems is simply because Capcom know where the money is and they know where to focus it.
I can't say I'm surprised, but if HD ports/REmakes are skimming pass Nintendo platforms then this company has messed up third party relations (if they exist).
Final Fantasy explorers when was this a thing? What are the odds this comes outside of japan for a completely different platform? You know how SE love mobile.
If people can't buy into Wii U as primary platform to fulfil all their gaming needs without having to resort to buying another platform just to fully achieve that then that is pretty pathetic.
The Wii wasn't a secondary console by large, it was the go to platform for millions of casual gamers (who have walked off the face of the earth?), alas that was a fad. A secondary console is as good as admitting defeat to the primary platforms.
@Einherjar So they are titles on PS4? Okay thanks! Was never exclusively referring to exclusives. I was referring to games and exclusives, not just exclusives.
You can't base that on anything, like i said there are positives and negatives to Wii U, don't fault me because i'm not one sided to your cause. The ignorance comment was made because i explained in great detail what the problem was and your solution was to stop making a fuzz after you asked why doesn't PS4/X1 get outcry.
@Einherjar We're heading back and forth. There are games available and coming to PS4/X1, which include first and third party support. Its the same for Wii U minus third party. That is one of the reasons its a major problem.
First Party support for Wii U thus far is Donkey Kong in Feb and MK8 in May, you don't see a gap?
@Einherjar I've covered that point in my first two responses. I just told you how and why it got there.
If you don't know about the games coming to PS4/X1 then you just proved you don't know the situation regarding those two platforms and this whole 'why hasn't the other platforms gotten outcry' is an exercise in futility.
@Einherjar "Aren't really issues?" Lies. In case the below is too much information, heres the takeaway: Wii U and PS4/X1 aren't even remotely in the same situation.
Thats because there is no drought on PS4 or X1. Theres third and first party support. Thats because those two systems aren't doomed (they're doing better than predecessors).
The Wii U isn't even outdoing Gamecube or even in the same world as its actual predecessor. Nintendo said its not meeting expectations. There was (and still is) a drought on Wii U. Why? Because Nintendo is managing two systems by themselves. There is little to no third party support. Combine those factors and thats why there was an major outcry. You still have to wait months for the next Nintendo title on one platform in comparison to other platforms where third party titles are a buffer until first party arrives. Wii U is the focus in 2015, so for 3DS owners well they'd make do.
@Einherjar Let me reiterate "nothing is perfect." People do what you're suggesting with all systems, you and @IceClimbers just did the same for Wii U, just now.
If you two think Wii U has no negatives, then thats fine, I won't condemn you. If you actually want to start an positivity only operation then more power to you! But don't sit there and tell me other systems don't get their share of negativity in place of full positivity. Cause thats just bull.
@Mega719 I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at? How can third parties be doing better on Wii U if their existence is fading?
MGS 5 got slaughtered because it was a prologue/demo release priced too high, besides that nothing was wrong with it, TPP will tell a different story. Theif was a typical Square Enix murder story.

Re: Project CARS Wii U Delay Was To Ensure It's As Good As Other Versions, Says Dev
@ShadyKnights
Nightmare games: Skyrim PS3. Bugfield 4. GTA Online at launch. COD Ghosts.
Delayed ports: Mass Effect 2 PS3. Mass Effect 1 PS3. Bioshock PS3. GTA IV: TBOGT/TLAD PS3. Rise of The Tomb Raider (PS3/PS4/PC). Titanfall 360.
You notice how theres a lot of PS3s? They've suffered through loads of delayed and sloppy ports during last gen. Happens to all systems.

@Beetlejuice It doesn't exist on Wii U, so Wii U owners did get the "best version" of the game!

All these comments prove third partys are right, now more than ever.
