Music from video games is something that not many people outside the gaming circle really recognise or appreciate, so it's all the more encouraging when groups of people – be they large or small – band together in order to create a new experience from established melodies.

Many of the classic themes from the Metroid series have been given new life in the form of some funky, catchy remixes thanks to the collaborated efforts of music minds Dj CUTMAN and Sammus. The album very impressively takes the original audio from some of the most well-known tracks from the early games and turns them into beautifully remastered instrumental tracks. The whole album is available by naming your own price, so you can even download it for free if you're shy of some coin.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Nintendo Special Big Band have performed a tremendous medley of themes related to the cross-series beat-em-up. Everything from Super Smash Bros. Melee's menu screen theme to the objectively glorious main theme from Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been tackled by this extremely talented group of musicians.

Be sure to check out the video below which features all of these fantastic Smash Bros. themes.
