@Striker21 except they are making efforts to improve quality, this is one of the best games in the entire series. And they delayed it a whole year to improve the game, which Game Freak don't often do.
@SpaceboyScreams The sales are great regardless so no what you are saying is "spin" also keep in mind Arceus launched at the height of the original Switch's popularity whereas now Switch 2 is the new BIG thing and there are likely a lot of people waiting to get a Switch 2 before getting the game, not to mention Christmas is coming up and that's where a bulk of sales WILL come from.
@UltimateOtaku91 actually development time has been increased. This game was delayed a whole year and the same is true for next year's games which were planned for this year but delayed until late 2026.
@Pillowpants The issue has mainly been they haven't been given the time to really polish their games however thankfully that is changing with Legends Z-A and the upcoming Generation 10 having longer development times than most other Pokemon games!
@Pillowpants I've always said that aside from the technical issues Scarlet and Violet are great games and I think one of the best in the series, I do think the technical issues hold them back slightly (If they were more polished I think they would be the best PERIOD.) but they are still highly enjoyable with a fantastic story, a wonderful cast of characters, excellent gameplay and an exciting new direction with the open world!
@mariomaster96 I personally believe the only reason they revealed Legends Z-A last year was to reassure fans that while there wouldn't be a game in 2024 there was still something in the works, hence why we didn't get any gameplay since it was still too early to show any.
@Rob3008 There certainly will be, the Switch 1 isn't going to die the moment Switch 2 comes out, it will still be supported into at least 2026 so I definitely think there's some more surprises left to really give the console a suitable sendoff!
@SpaceboyScreams Technical issues aside Scarlet and Violet are great games that push the franchise in exciting new directions offering unprecedented freedom in a Pokemon experience and I'm excited to see how they build off of that.
@Fizza Exactly... and considering a dev got DOXXED because of this... I feel extremely bad for them and Game Freak as a whole and I hope whoever is behind this is punished to the full extent of the law!
@Nameless_Shame I mean Chibnall isn't a terrible writer/awful showrunner. If you don't like his style of writing that is perfectly acceptable though, it's all subjective at the end of the day. We don't all like the same things!
@DonSerrot that has nothing to with not having enough time, it's done that way intentionally. And again, like I said. you get to do exactly what Leon did in the post game.
@DonSerrot See this is where I think a lot of people misunderstand the story. It is very much about you proving how capable and worthy you are and you conquering the Gym Challenge is a big part of that, the goal is to prove that you're the very best, that's why when major things happen during that quest Leon takes care of it, because as Champion his job is to keep the region safe and that is why once you prove yourself by reaching Leon you're able to get in on the action and help save the region from destruction. Anyway you get to do what Leon did in the post game with you having to battle a bunch of out of control Dynamax Pokemon because at that point you're the Champion so it's your duty to protect the people of Galar just like Leon did.
@clvr Sword and Shield IS a good game. Perfect? No but they are still playable and fun with great features and memorable characters - Major things that make a good game.
If you don't personally like it that's fine but that doesn't make it objectively "bad", it's just not to your tastes which is fine.
Are these games perfect? No, they have problems. But are they "Garbage" or "bad games" like some people say they are? No. I think their problems are overexaggerated, that's not to say those problems aren't there but they are certainly not as bad as made out to be. Sword and Shield are good games, not flawless by any stupid but like previous entries they are still fun which is the most important part of a game with memorable characters, cool new features and a beautiful region with Galar! and I think especially with the DLC these games have gotten even better, they've been massively expanded upon which I think is awesome! and I think if they take what they've learned from this game and the DLC I think we could be in for something really special for Gen 9.
@Manah I mean this is very clearly a result of them being impressed by his work on Little Town Hero, so I can see why they'd ask him to compose a track for Pokemon.
@Xansies If it is 720p in docked it's probably 720p handheld as well. though it's worth noting technically this isn't confirmed plus it might not be the final build.
@TheAwesomeBowser he's actually played it while you haven't, so you can't say if it's good or not, and he wasn't paid anything, he just thinks the game is good based on what he played.
@Xelha they never said anything about the Pokemon fandom, they said it is a commentary on fandoms IN GENERAL.
"cutting out Pokemon from the games for no good reason" if they had to cut Pokemon from the games then there was very obviously a good reason for doing so even if that reason has not been made entirely clear.
@Knuckles-Fajita uh as a british person I actually have no idea what you are even on about
it is not a stereotype that football is a popular sport, that's literally fact and the games lean into this, obviously not everyone likes it but a lot of people do.
@iLikeUrAttitude I don't even have to click that link to know it's going to be the same old tired "bad double kick animation" when it is only ONE Animation out of hundreds and other animations in the game look fantastic and they don't always stand there while attacking.
@MysticX the National Dex announcement happened on June 11th, the FIRST Day of E3, this is for the entire week following that so that announcement clearly didn't affect much
@Preposterous moving the goal post are we? also amazon means nothing when judging the success of the game and people who wanted to pre order through Amazon would've done so already (it was charting very high at one point for a reason) and a lot of people are upset but most of the people will still buy the games regardless as it is a new Pokemon game on the Switch. also something like an Amazon listing is not newsworthy unless there are actual numbers or an official listing given which there is not
@Agramonte you have a point when it comes to DKC Tropical Freeze BUT I have to defend Hyrule Warriors here.. Hyrule Warriors DE includes ALL of the Wii U DLC, ALL of the 3DS Exclusive Content and DLC, Plus some new content, in fact the price makes perfect sense as it's completely packed with Content!
@StephenYap3 @rjejr How is South Park overpriced? It's extremely new, it only came out a few months ago on the other systems and costs the same price as those versions did at launch, in fact it's correctly priced
@Yasume Ahem... Splatoon 2, ARMS (a fresh new IP), Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Sonic Mania, Skyrim, a ton of indie titles (are you really calling Indie Titles shovelware? Right... No just no...), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Minecraft for Nintendo Switch, Sonic Forces, Disgaea 5 Complete, Wonderboy, the Binding of Isaac, Zelda BoTW (amazing game), Fast RMX, Snipperclips, Super Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem Warriors, Shovel Knight, Yooka Laylee, Snake Pass, I am Setsuna and MANY MANY more
Games that are already out or are coming out this year ALONE!
@Shellcore yeah though expecting everything on one system is kind of wishful thinking, even i've come to accept that but I'll take what I can get as long as what third party we do get isn't lazy ports because no one likes a lazy port, they're always plagued with bugs and glitches and it just looks horrible, look at the Wii U's third party support, it had quite a bit at launch but most of them weren't very good ports, luckily the Switch isn't as enemic as the Wii U was so I hope we get more and better support than the Wii U did because this console is exciting, it's new and different, playing home console quality games at home and on the go is something we've never seen before so it has a lot of potential and the marketing so far with their ads has been very good and there's been a lot of it, you never really saw an AD for the Wii U back in the day on TV or in public areas, you never saw that so it's a step in the right direction and we'll see how it goes, the lineup for the first year though is surprisingly good despite the poor launch lineup, with the only good game being Zelda BoTW, it reminds me of the N64 Launch, the only good game it launched with was Super Mario 64 so its' interesting
@Shellcore i'm not saying you can't but cancelling your pre-order for lack of SMALL details really is a bit silly, sure if you want to wait until the end of the year or next year when the library for the Switch is massive, sure, go ahead, I'm not saying you can't but your original comment gave a bit of a silly reason I'm getting it at launch but only because I've never bought a console at launch and I want to play Zelda BoTW so this is a first for me but if you want to wait a little while go ahead (though why'd you pre-order it anyway if you were just gonna cancel it, that makes absolutely no sense) expect massive announcements at E3 though, it's going to be huge this year.. I'm still thinking they're gonna announce a new Metroid just because Retro Studios have been teasing it lately so that's exciting
@Shellcore lack of games? ahem, there's like over 100 confirmed for the next year or so with more announcments for more games on the way at E3 2017, there is NO trophies or achievements and third parties aren't jumping on board straight away, they're doing the wait and see approach to see if the Switch does well, it's all about the install base but there will be enough third party support, with more announcements confirmed to be coming soon

But hey, to each their own I suppose.
Re: Poll: Pokémon Sword And Shield Launched A Year Ago, Has Your Opinion On Them Changed?
@clvr I've played plenty of other JRPGs. and my standards aren't low, I just enjoy things. Nothing wrong with that.

@fafonio that's done in order to make sure the game runs as smooth as possible, there are plenty of games that do that.

@PBandSmelly "having the exact same model twice in the same room really feels lazy" that's literally how it works in every Pokemon game

@SalvorHardin web app, it's a diorama.

@Ttimer5 we'll probably see the "Villain" team, we usually do around this time.
