@Jokerwolf it doesn't have to be 3D to look gorgeous. Hand drawn cel-shaded art with painted backgrounds would have been the way to go. They already made the trailer that way! Why not the game? This is why I hate trailers like this, where the actual game play doesn't even imitate the visual style of the trailer.

@JTTSantos I thought the same thing. I was all-in until I saw the graphics. So sick of seeing pixel art games!

@BenAV I've been trying to use both the joycon and the pro controller, but I'm just not good with a d-pad. Why they only allow the d-pad for the controls is beyond me. I don't see why they can't just add another controller option. I was terrible at Lumines Remastered when it first came out because it was limited to the d-pad and once they updated it for analog, It felt and played so much better.

I'd be much better at the game if they let us use the analog stick instead of the d-pad. The d-pad always makes me drop the tetrimino too quickly by accident!

The biggest thing that I wanted to know about it was how the combat worked, but nothing was said about it. Are they using the same turn based formula as previous games or will we be able to actually control the pokemon (somewhat like pokken tournament)?

@BigSnikkel that's only because those ports were heavily downgraded versions of the Xbox and PS versions. Now that the Switch's processor is more comparable to the current generation of consoles, it would be much more similar to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game (I.E. Doom)

The switch definitely needs more FPS games, but this one is a pass for me. I still don't understand why Activision hasn't pulled the trigger on the Call of Duty franchise for the Switch. As greedy as they are, it would make them a ton of cash.

Okay, so does this mean that having a RocketID will allow my DLC cars on any console without having to buy them again? I have all the DLC on my Switch, but I'd like to bring that over to my Xbox One version of Rocket League.

@andywitmyer I totally skipped over that part. Thanks! That was one of the best things about the RCT games. It’s a shame that they didn’t include it in this one.

@tourjeff there's a tutorial video right before the title screen. Not to mention the training options in the blue "games and more" menu, or the character moves when you pause the game

Is the terrain adjustable in this game? I remember the original game where I could literally build mountains by adjusting the terrain. It was awesome punching holes through a mountain and making a roller coaster go through tunnels.

This is basically Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo with HD graphics and different characters. Count me in!!!

2D games with hand painted imagery and fluid animation already exist, so I don't see why this guy is saying that the future of 2D games will be like that. We already have Ori, Hollow Knight, Cuphead, Rayman and others that are perfect examples of this.

I'm from the U.S. and there was a similar issue with the NFL team name and logo for the Washington Redskins. Some native americans found the team name and logo (which was established in 1971) offensive. The name and logo remain the same to this day, despite the controversy. Goes to show that you can't please everyone, so why not just leave things the way they are? These days, everyone gets all butt hurt for no reason. smh.

I guess it's good news for those who like these kinds of games. In my opinion, they're boring and lack any kind of real control over the characters (basically a point and click adventure with multiple choice dialogue) Yay. And once you finish the story, there's no real reply value. No wonder these games lost their appeal.

I just wish they would do a better job on their icon designs. They should have included the original artwork instead of screenshots of the games. It's just lazy!

I wonder if they kept the awful shot meter in this one. That killed the first game, in my opinion. It was too hard to make a shot. I'm a hard pass on this one. Give me NBA Jam!

In this scenario, some games might run better on the newer model than they did on the original. A better analogy is Sony's approach to its 4K-ready PS4 Pro; developers are not allowed to make Pro exclusives, but instead can leverage the additional power to make their games run even better on the newer model."

I would hope that we would get a more powerful console and dock without the need to change the form factor at all. That makes the most sense, because the joycons would need to slide into the console the same exact way, and I seriously doubt that Nintendo would abandon the joycons because of their popularity. It would also make sense to only sell the upgraded console and dock without joycons in order to reduce the cost. The current console also has enough room to add more screen space by simply reducing the size of the bezel.

I think Nintendo will upgrade the processor in the Switch to allow for better resolution and frame rate in games. They will probably allow developers to update their current games to look and play better than their current iterations. Microsoft has taken this approach with upgrades to current Xbox One games to allow for 4k graphics and better performance in the Xbox One X versions of those games. There's no need to split the user base anymore. You would be able to play the same games, but if you upgrade to a more powerful system, the same games will have better resolution, etc.

As big as the NES library is, it would make more sense to bring out at least 10 titles per month. And why can't you get rid of the menu icons at the bottom of the screen while playing a game? So annoying, Nintendo

@Royalblues they've already said it's 1080p 60fps in docked mode and 720p 60fps in handheld, which is fantastic!

I can't wait! I loved Marble Blast Ultra on Xbox 360, so I'm really excited for this one.

@pbb76 Looks a lot better than crappy pixellated animations, IMO. I'm so sick of pixel art, but I guess I'm in the minority.

I got hooked on Fortnite for most of Season 5 after buying a battle pass. It's all about those "carrots" they dangle in front of you, pushing you to play more in order to receive items. That's what hooks people in. That being said, I'd rather play a Battle Royale game that has no fort building and a 1st person mode, so COD Black Ops Battle Royale might be my next addiction.

@MichaelHarvey Seriously? Even the individual membership for $20 per year is extremely cheap for an online service, and one you can take with you anywhere, for that matter. Compared to Xbox and PS+ it's a great value. My only complaint is that voice chat needs to be reworked so it's integrated into the Switch instead of this smartphone app nonsense.
