@mauhlin12 Persona 3 FES on the PS2 was my first persona game and I played all subsequent ones (P3P, P4, P4G, PQ, P5 and PQ2)

After playing 3 on the PS2, I went back to try P2 but imo it was a lot more hardcore and closer to the SMT mainline games than the Persona we know today. If you like persona, I would recommend the Devil Survivor series on the Nintendo DS as they're excellent games.

@MrBlacky Regardless of what the reasons are, those games were still "exclusive to PlayStation" consoles and other platform fans begged for them. I suppose a better argument would be for Nioh/Nioh 2 and Street fighter V as people want those on other platforms but Sony funded/paid for exclusivity or when Microsoft paid for Tomb raider 2 exclusivity although that seemed to backfire on them.

@mauhlin12 I like how you think lol very strategic. Poured 100+ hours into P4 and P5 and would love to have another go at them in portable mode.

@MrBlacky The Yakuza series on PS4, Persona 5, MLB the Show, Nioh and just in general port begging. Now I'm not saying all other fans don't do this either because they do ie Sony fans demanding Astral chain, pokemon, Zelda ect. Let be real though, every fan base does it contrary to the sentiments in this thread.

@Syndrome Bloodborne is more of a special case imo. First of all Sony funded the game which is similar to Bayo 2 but the big difference is that FromSoft also received heavy development leg work from Sony's internal JapanStudio.

It was ironic that Yamauchi tried to humble sony by switching to Phillips as their media storage partner.

That arrogance in turn humbled Nintendo until the Wii.

@Ventilator Don't know what you're talking about but PSVR has sold 5 million units and is one of the most successful VR headsets. Of course it's not going to sell boatloads because its an add-on that costs as much as the console but nonetheless it has been a success for Sony.

Nintendo should make Pokemon Home a perk of Nintendo Switch Online but I know that's probably asking too much considering its Nintendo and TPC.

The Sony hate in the comments is real. Unlike the bitter people here, I need both Nintendo and PlayStation in my life. PS is slowly becoming Ninty in a sense with their brand and IP recognition albeit still faraway.

@Savino Or a game like Astro bot Rescue mission which is a sony 1st party game made by japan studio but was made by less than 20 people.

Reading through the comments, it seems people are saying that big budgets separate indie vs AAA games.

My question is, where does a game like Splatoon 2 fall? I remember reading that Splatoon 1 or 2 had a very small budget relative to other triple A games. Doesn't that mean it should be considered an indie? This argument is so flawed in my opinion.

@Madden87 To be fair, all the people saying "who the hell is Terry Bogard, he's so random" are equally pretentious/ignorant.

Terry is a big deal and possibly the reason we have smash bros as a franchise since it was Daddy Sakurai's inspiration.

Guess I'm not the only one who has had problems with most Microsoft console products. Nintendo generally is the most bullet proof with stuff such as the GBA and SNES. Sony has always had pretty excellent build quality as well.

I am someone who has always taken great care of the electronics I own. My stuff literally still seems brand new because I will wipe the tech down and/or clean it with the appropriate means.

The only issue with a video game system I have had prior to the Switch is ironically another drifting problem with the PSP analogue stick. That being said, I barely use my Joy-Cons (Mainly pro controller in Docked) and the left one still drifts every now and then. My Switch was bought at launch but my brother bought his when Super Mario Odyssey came out and his left Joy-Con is drifting too.

Nintendo has to acknowledge their bad and unreliable design of the Joy-Cons. I'm especially surprised because I have always advocated for their amazing build quality.

@Haxxor You do realize that Geralt did not have a beard pre witcher 3 right? It's funny to me when casual fans who have only played the last game try to dictate what's canon.

Hype train! I really hope this sells a lot of copies to make it a staple Nintendo franchise. My boy Luigi needs more attention.

@graysoncharles Well if you have the regular switch now and don't mind the form factor too much I would suggest you buy this revised version and sell the dock if you are a handheld only gamer.

You could probably sell the dock for $50-$80 bucks so essentially you pay the price of a lite for this updated one. The smaller form factor of the lite is definitely appealing but as a guy who has always preferred Nintendo handheld gaming, battery life is so important.

@graysoncharles Quite sure Nintendo still wants people to buy it's regular Switch over the lite as the regular one actually "switches"

I'd say the lite is more for people in Japan/other busy lifestyle countries and children.

Nice to see Codename STEAM in some people's lists.

I still think it is one of Nintendo's most underrated and overlooked gems.

I prefer to play Metroidvania's in handheld mode but after the horror stories, I returned my unopened copy and bought the PS4 version. What a shame.

FFS Nintendo release new entries of Golden sun, Advance Wars and Wario Land.

I will always love Nintendo for their approach to making interesting software. The ps4 has a stellar library and awesome QOL system features but I truly prefer gaming on the switch whenever I get the chance. (might be to my bias as I vastly prefer handheld gaming)

That said, you guys need to lay off sony, sure they copy but they have pushed the medium forward quite a bit. They popularized every single format (CD's, DVD's, Blu ray) which may not seem like much but you wouldn't be able to have games like Metal gear solid IV during that era. Also they are probably the most successful mainstream VR company which had one of the most innovative VR titles called AstroBot Rescue Mission. I had the same giddy feeling playing that as I did something like Mario 64 back on the N64.

I do genuinely worry about this... My two favourite gaming companies are Nintendo and Sony for their high quality 1st party games and neither really have that type of cloud infrastructure to compete with Microsoft, amazon and google

@Grandiajet Yeah to be honest Sony is being arrogant right now but they all have been like this in the past. I remember Microsoft had the same cross play stance as sony last gen because they were on top.

I'm assuming you know of Ninty's past arrogance since you are on a Nintendo website so I won't go into that lol.

I love sony almost as much as Nintendo since their 1st party games are also very high quality but like Ninty they make some truly baffling business decisions....

Not even asking for Gamecube games because I think that's hoping for too much. But ffs at least start giving us Snes and GBA games.....

@Mallow To be fair, its not as much this site as something like Reddit where it's circlejerk central.

Obviously I exaggerated "Nintendo gets a pass on everything" but to an extent it is true. Nintendo does not have basic social features such as achievements and you have fans actually say stuff along the lines of "Good I don't want achievements, thank you nintendo"

Metroid is my all time favourite game franchise but it's rather scary to see how nintendo gets a pass on everything from fans. They had no business announcing a logo and now when they scrap the project you guys still applaud them. If this was Square or another publisher, all of you would be flaming.

FFS give them criticism when it's needed, that's how you better a company.

To be fair, most of the UK is digital these days (around 70% of game sales) so being the best physical seller isn't that huge of a deal. If anything it just tells me that Ninty is not great at digital.
