Make sure you support #OperationPlatinum everyone. It's a movement started to try to make sure Bayonetta 2 reaches 1 million+ copies sold worldwide. Spread the word and support Platinum Games and this awesome title!
Don't fret just yet Nintendo fans. This does not mean the game is not coming to Wii U. Call of Duty: Ghosts and Watch_Dogs among other multiplats didn't get confirmed for Wii U until the last hour. Nintendo has their exclusive style of NDA's and don't want some games announced for their console until they figure out their own release dates. So hang on FOOS.
@gatorboi352 It's hard to care about 3rd Party when OUT OF THE GATE in 2012 their games on Wii U never had parity with other console versions of the same game. Before they could make the excuse about Wii U not selling, their Wii U LAUNCH titles were:
-Lacking features, modes found on other systems -Had framerate and stability issues -Cost more (Mass Effect 3 for $60 vs. Mass Effect Trilogy for $60 on other consoles) -Delaying highly anticipated games (Rayman Legends) -Little to NO DLC
3rd Parties shot themselves in the foot on Wii U LONG BEFORE they could make excuses about sales. And they continued to blunt their own Wii U game sales by continuing to cut features, DLC and they expect Wii U owners to buy INFERIOR PORTS?!?
They did everything they could do wrong to make sure their games didn't sell on Wii U in. Facts are facts.
5 million sellers in it's first year for Wii U. That's pretty awesome. And Mario Kart Wii selling a million for Wii last year. A console that's been dead for what... 2 years? Wow FOOS!
@gatorboi352
"you do realize that the Wii U is currently not selling right?"
And that's the GamePad's fault? That's what this article seems to suggest. It's suggesting that a bundled peripheral that isn't required to be used in in special way is affecting sales of the console... RIP Rob the Robot LOL.
Problem is every time something struggles, it gets over analyzed by the media on whats wrong with it. Remember everything that was wrong with 3DS that was hurting sales? Poor battery life, no second analog, gimmicky 3D and on and on. It still has all that. So whats different. It's GAMES LIBRARY.
I see these articles are getting too you FOOS. It's a shame. You'd think it was the first time Nintendo was in a rut cough*SNES launch, N64 launch, Virtual Boy launch, Gamecube launch*cough
But my guess is most of you guys weren't born yet or cared about that stuff as gamers before... sigh
@SecondServing Mario 3D World currently sits at 1.7 million sold. And Nintendo games are "evergreen" which means they sell consistently well throughout a consoles life cycle. When all said and done 3D World will sell above 8 million. Super Mario Bros Wii sold 800,000 copies this year
If you're going to fake something, at least get the copyright year correct. 1997? That was the year Starfox 64 came out, but the first Star Fox was published for SNES in 1993. EPiC FAiL FOOS!
(edit) Ah, I see they mentioned that in the article. That's why you should READ the article before posting... Oops. FAiL on my part
Wow, I'm really surprised by this review. I have had no problems with the controls whatsoever and i enjoy the gameplay. Oh well, say if you're on the fence, try the game yourself. You may like it FOOS!
Maybe Nintendo is concerned with companies who continuously put out broken games to masses of gamers who don't seem to care. It's our fault that these 3rd parties have become so arrogant and entitled. We run out and buy their crappy products that need endless patches and updates. Nintendo doesn't release broken games. They STILL care about quality.
Hmmmm.... An HD "remaster" of 2 PS2 games that were released on the 150 million selling PS2 and only sold 1.9 million combined for both games and was already released on the pretty popular PS3 a year ago and only sold 110,000 copies...
Yakuza 4 and Yakuza: Dead Souls combined sold 1.3 million. Seems Japanese gamers don't care about this series no matter what system it's on. Sega says "Yakuza HD on the Wii U is an experiment." I guess the experiment proved that Japanese gamers still aren't that interested in this series
And they'll be just mystified why this game wont sell well for the Wii U. They'll say our games just don't sell well on Nintendo consoles yadda, yadda, yadda. I suppose the Wii U version will be the cheapest since it will be gimped right? Don't bet on it.
@drumsandperc92 PS4 will be $50 more with no game or online. With a Wii U bundle you will get the deluxe set with two games, a digital version of Nintendo Land and whatever game they bundle like WWHD or Super Mario 3D World and FREE online...
And this is why Nintendo didn't want to flood the eShop with VC games. They want to make sure indie devs and NEW downloaded games have a chance to shine. For all the Virtual Console crybabies...
@Guitardude7 Wii U may need Ubisoft, but it doesn't need Rayman Legends. Buy Watch_Dogs, Splinter Cell, and AC4 with your money instead. Those are the types of gmes that need to sell on Wii U, not 2D platformers. I'm making a statement by not buying THAT game.
I don't care that you guys make articles about Nintendo "Gloom and Doom." My complaint is that the articles are all basically stating the same info over and over over and over over and over over and over...
This [insert analyst name here] said Nintendo will stop making hardware and start making crap touch games for iOS is something speculated on years now. The death of Nintendo and subsequently handheld gaming has yet to happen.
But I guess if you keep speculating something will happen sooner or later you'll be right. There, I'm an analyst! Not new. You don't have to be an analyst fanboy to state Nintendo issues with Wii U, but how much money you make speculating doesn't validate your credibility Damien. We can pretend that ad revenue has no motivation on hyperbolic or bombastic headline titles if you like. We can also look at the predictions track record of a guy who also presumably makes a ton of cash as a speculator, Michael Pachter, and decide analyst speculations aren't worthy of an article.
If your going to give us bad news, we only ask that you give us NEW bad news that is not speculation based and is tangible. No EA games - cool. Wii U has poor sales - uh huh. But countless articles stating "if Wii U doesn't retrieve the Majora's Mask within 3 days the scary faced moon MIGHT fall from the sky and land on Nintendo Headquarters Kyoto," says [Analyst that we have not mentioned his predictability track record or ignored it all together.]
I love it how EVERYONE but the company selling the product knows every reason it's not selling. They come here and post the same reasons 1000 times. "Wii U name is stupidz, GampePad is seems like a Wii periphialzs, casuals have moved on to cell phones and tablets for their Wii Sports and Wii Fit fix(what??) no ads highlighting the games that apparently are just overpriced ports of last gen games that no one cares about anyway. Come one Nintendo, more ads showing games I don't care about.
Here's the answer folks. Wii U wasn't ready. We are in the beta testing stage. We're getting the games this fall that would have made the system soar had they been ready for launch. System updates, shoddy ports, Wii U messaging stumbles, Virtual Console etc,.
Imagine the bundles that will move units. Wind Waker, Donkey Kong, or Suoer Mario 3D World, Deluxe Unit with Nintendo Land Digitally installed and a pro contoller or Wii Motion Plus for $369.99 or less With Mario Kart 8 in the horizon.
@Peach64 Man you do like to cherry pick. Let me also say that nowhere in the atricle does it say that "We'll continue working on it until we yield optimal results as our unprecedented partnership would suggest that we want Wii U to succceed with unprecedented commitment from EA."
You often condescend N fans in an attempt to sound like some middle grounded voice of reason, as if we are just emotional rash nintendrones who think the world hates Nintendo and you are above the fray and leveled head. Mr. Cat Peach avatar guy. "See guys I love Nintendo, I'm just being reasonable. But you too often avoid the FACTS. Countless doon and gloom Wii U articles. EA's so called unprecedented support. A joke. EA employees angry vengeful twitter rants. No Madden on a Nintendo console for the first time ever. We got shoddy half @ssed, over priced ports and are told to buy them or else. Ignoring all that Peach64 wants you to know it Nintendo fan paranoia. Ninja please. You're not helping.
@Rafie Totally agree. Loved Longest Journey on PC back in the day (think it came out in 1999) and lobed Dreamfall on the Xbox (Amazing). These types of games would be amazing on Wii U because of the interface. Nintendo needs to help make this happen.
Expect some new bundles that will make Wii U very attractive this holiday like Watch_Dogs or Assasins Creed 4 with pro controller for $329 or something close. Super Mario 3D World Wii U bundle is almost certain. Perhaps they'll even throw in a Wii Remote Plus to sweeten that deal.
A Wii Fit U bundle with balance board is also inevitable...
@Rafie Just want to make one more point... Really
I said: "" So by your own words YOU made it a point in saying you give Sony the "slight edge."
I literally copied and pasted your words here. Again, your first post was: "I actually thought Sony had the best and entertaining E3 with Nintendo coming in at a close 2nd with their holiday and 2014 line up.
Close second to me means Sony won, but only slightly. But that point doesn't really matter. But good debate. I actually gague these things on whether WE win. Did I get the games I wanted. No, not really. I am of the mind that "next gen" has to be more than prettier versions of the same games I'm playing now. Posting gameplay videos doesn't do it for me. I can do that now, although I have to take an extra step to do so. I was expecting Nintendo to usher in next gen gameplay, and they didn't. That's why I was underwhelmed. I have a PC, so consoles have to offer me more than graphics. To me it feels like consoles are set on trying to be watered down PC's.
But good, cordial debate. A rarity on these sites, lol.
@Rafie You said: "Again, what does it matter if it was "slight" win or if it was by a landslide." Before that you said: "I actually thought Sony had the best and entertaining E3 with Nintendo coming in at a close 2nd..." So by your own words YOU made it a point in saying you give Sony the "slight edge." I was just pointing out YOUR argument. So YOUR analysis is what made it "matter." BTW, when I capitalize, it's for emphasis, not to "yell" just so you know
"Not saying that, but the majority of comments across the articles seems to point at Sony being the bad guy and how inferior they are to Nintendo."
What does that have to do with me and what I said? And you acuse me of projecting... hmmm.
""I bet I own more Sony game systems and games than you do" I was using a bit of hyperbole there in hopes of proving that your not dealing with some teenaged, mindless "Nintendrone." But you took it as some sort of Console Penile Measuring Contest. Perhaps that was my fault.
"It's a good thing that I do have all consoles and not tied to one. I'm a little less bias than your average gamer who has one console and solely prefers that one."
Again, because I disagree with you, you assume that I'm not? More projecting.
"The hype for the PS4 is there. More so than the Wii U had..." Can't argue with that. Sony has ALWAYS done a better job at hyping it's fanbase, even without any compelling software and a ridiculously high price point. I waited in line out in the cold with my buddy for days for PS3. Even though I wasn't getting one, I liked being around gamers that passionate. We played Mario Kart DS like crazy, lol. Sony are much better marketers than Nintendo. No argument there. After my friend took his PS3 home and beat Resistance, he and all of our other friends were at my crib playing Wii Sports every weekend while he waited for something compelling to play on his $600 blu ray player. He didn't even have an HDTV yet, lol. But he was hyped.
But seriously, that's probably the biggest reason Nintendo bowed out of an E3 press conference this year. They knew no matter how many great games they talked about at E3, they would be drowned out by the "Hype Machines." I mean how can Sonic Lost Worlds, Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Wind Waker HD, Donkey Kong Country TF, compete against the Sony and Microsoft Entertainment hubs, 8 GB of RAM, and a Gaming "Media" that continues to marginalize them to the point that they have to do Nintendo Directs so fans aren't permeated by journalists who overwhelmingly want them to make cell phone games, or "go the way of Sega," and stop making consoles and yadda yadda, yadda.
