I haven't played MK8D in a long while but I'm pretty sure you can turn off items in that game through some sort of custom play mode. Not sure it's available for online play but it can be done for local multiplayer.

Goes to show that the Nintendo Life community cares very little about this game... me included.

I went with Street Fighter II: The World Warrior on SNES.
This was a rather difficult choice though. The Special Champion Edition on Mega Drive in particular, with Bison looming in the background, is very cool as well.

It's a pretty smart marketing tactic.
Monolith Soft does pretty much the same: Xenogears, Xenosaga, Xenoblade.

I've seen some YT videos how people beat the hardest challenges and it never ceases to amaze me what some gamers are capable of.
I don't have the patience for it.

Hollow Knight is a brilliant game until you get to the post-game with the optional bosses and challenges. This game is near impossible to beat 100% and it's so frustrating when you like to do just that.

Reminds me a lot of Machinarium.
Looks like a nice palate cleanser to play inbetween bigger releases.

I think there's a typo at the fourth option: shouldn't /lɪv ə laɪv/ be /lɪv ə lɪv/ ?

I pronounce it /laɪv ə laɪv/ even though it sounds very weird.

Edit: the typo has been fixed.

Xenoblade 3 drops in 2 weeks thus I'm not starting anything new until then. Don't want to have to put it aside halfway through once XC3 drops.
As such, I've been going back to older games doing optional side content I hadn't done before to bridge the gap.

I'm a huge fan of Nintendo Directs. Would hate to see them go.

Can't wait to play this game, but Xenoblade 3 takes priority.

That's a gorgeous piece of art and looks way more authentic than those overpriced statues First 4 Figures creates.

Those costumes are little more than color swaps but the Wave 2 DLC looks much more promising.
I was half expecting Shulk and Rex to be the 2 extra heroes but I'm glad that's not the case.

Yes, that's the one exception and the first time that happened in my country. All other special editions have been available in regular video game stores.

That's the thing though, I don't recall the My Nintendo Store selling physical games, at least not in my country.

My Nintendo Store has nothing to do with buying digital games though, the eShop still works perfectly fine.
This will only affect those who want to purchase merchandising.

I've dabbled a bit with music editing on PC with a mixboard, making my own fan mixes of music I was into at that time.
It was a fun hobby and I often thought of picking it up again.

Modules like this for the Nintendo Switch, combined with proper software, would be very hard for me to resist.

This is pretty exciting.
I never owned an Atari system myself, but I did buy Atari Anthology on PS2 back in the day. There were some fun games on that collection.
I especially enjoyed Tempest and Asteroids.

Looks neat and that female protagonist design is definitely WayForward.

The European one wins this time for me.
The Japanese one is way too cluttered with all the logos and text, while the US one is straight up ugly.

This is incredible.
I can't imagine the time and effort that must have gone into this considering how much dialogue there is in these games.

I've been dreaming about Xenoblade Warriors for years now.

A perfect way to implement Amiibo.
