Re: Reaction: Shadow Drops & Surprises - A Stuffed Direct With Something For Everyone

Lynas

Personally I felt it was a really good direct. About 75% of what was shown off I am interested in playing, Probably not right away but eventually. I already bought the Castlevania DS collection and I might purchase Pizza tower and Peglin sooner rather than later but I have other ways to play both and if sale happens I’ll go with that.

The new rune factory looked excellent. And I love the atelier series, But the video for that looked a little rough technically, It’s still early enough for it to turn out well but I won’t hold my breath where performance is concerned.

Trails in the sky FC remake is too much of a big deal (for me) to be shoved in a 20 second segment of a sizzle reel. But at least it’s happening.

The only strange announcement for me was Yakuza Kiwami. Why release a remake of the first game now after all this time?

Re: Video: Everyone Should Play Sin & Punishment

I've never really been a fan of Treasure games. Be it Guardian heroes, Gunstar Heroes or Micehief makers. I'll watch the video though, because I want their games to finally click with me so I can see what others see.

I'm buying Mon amour because it's from onion games and I've adored everything they've released. I would like to get Dungeon Encounters but I'll probably do some YouTube research first as I'm not really sure I will like it. or I may just wait for a sale.

Re: Games Within Games - The Best Video Games In Other Video Games

Maniac mansion in Day of the tentacle was amazing to me at the time, playing it on a friends PC around release he showed me a game inside a game and it blew my mind that PC's could do this sort of thing and my Mega Drive seemed so basic in comparison... Maniac mansion was on the NES as well I think so somewhat Nintendo related.

I finally learnt how to play Mahjong (Riichi Mahjong) with this game. the tutorials weren't amazing but they gave me enough knowledge to experiment with the game and to pick up the rules over multiple plays with some added online reading. The list of Yaku is pretty large and I doubt I'll ever put enough to into the game to memorise them all but I have wanted to learn to play this for many years and I am happy I finally can at least understand what is going on in.

Also play Mahjong Soul on your phone or in a browser. There's always an online game to play there.

Re: The Next Sega Ages Game Is G-LOC: Air Battle, Famous For Its Insane Rotating Arcade Cabinet

Lynas

I've always wanted to play it. I remember when I went for a school trip to London many years ago Hamleys toy shop had the rotating cabinet in the store. It was roped off and I seem to remember it costing £2 or £3 a play which was pretty extortionate at the time. It looked so amazing though, But I didn't play it.

I reckon nowadays that cabinet would just give me motion sickness. The switch version probably will also. Lol.

Re: Review: Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk DX - A Great Introduction To The Series

Lynas

Ayesha is my favourite of this trilogy. Maybe favourite overall for the entire series, Mostly because the time mechanics didn't make me feel like I was missing out on doing what I wanted and it wasn't non existent like newer games, It felt like the perfect set up and something they should have implemented for the rest of the trilogy. I'm tempted to play these again on Switch actually.

Re: Ittle Dew 2 Removed From Switch eShop Against Developer's Wishes

Lynas

@Chunkboi79 I was thinking purely about digital only releases. Not physical. I understand that a publisher is required to put up the money and sort out all the logistics behind actually having a cartridge on a shelf. It makes less sense to need a publisher when you're going for a digital only release but there's obviously more hurdles to overcome than I would assume and a publisher jumps them for you.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Takes A Look At Final Fantasy VIII Remastered

Lynas

It seems wrong to call it a remaster when it has features missing from the original PS1 release. Saying that though, Other than the lack of analogue control nothing has really bothered me. I'm enjoying it a lot. I haven't played ff8 since it was originally released and back then the junction system didn't make much sense to me. It's still a really good game 20 years later, Despite the problems with this release. And it's just fun to break the game with card mods and junction system.

Re: Unauthorised Translations Of The Satoru Iwata Book "Will Be Subject To Criminal Charges"

Lynas

Seems fair enough. If they decide to not release an official translation I hope they can maybe look the other way if fans decide to make one.

There were unofficial English translations of most of the Witcher books available online for quite a few years, I read them before they started releasing the rest of the series in English. I think there was a point were there was some uncertainty if they would even get official English releases. They were decent enough and did the job until the official releases came around.
