I a, assuming there is some new story elements here then? Releasing them in the chronological order rather than a remake of DQ one first probably suggests this. I hope so at least
Personally I felt it was a really good direct. About 75% of what was shown off I am interested in playing, Probably not right away but eventually. I already bought the Castlevania DS collection and I might purchase Pizza tower and Peglin sooner rather than later but I have other ways to play both and if sale happens I’ll go with that.
The new rune factory looked excellent. And I love the atelier series, But the video for that looked a little rough technically, It’s still early enough for it to turn out well but I won’t hold my breath where performance is concerned.
Trails in the sky FC remake is too much of a big deal (for me) to be shoved in a 20 second segment of a sizzle reel. But at least it’s happening.
The only strange announcement for me was Yakuza Kiwami. Why release a remake of the first game now after all this time?
This guide/walkthrough was a massive help for me getting into this series. There is no shame in analysing it and referencing it to help you. Once you understand the fundamentals of the series any game is open to you.
@Kyloctopus They’ve had multiple mobile games. I think one of their games released on ps4 also. Cozy grove is just their latest and it started as an Apple Arcade game. I really like spry fox and hope they can continue making the games they want.
Triple town is still one of my go to mobile games.
@rushiosan That was my experience with it. But there are plenty of people out there online that will tell you that's not the case. So I dunno, Maybe I played it wrong?
I've never really been a fan of Treasure games. Be it Guardian heroes, Gunstar Heroes or Micehief makers. I'll watch the video though, because I want their games to finally click with me so I can see what others see.
Phantasy Star IV is a really great jrpg that more people should play. Other than that obviously Streets of rage 2 and Sonic 2 are top tier MD games. I'm guessing Gunstar Heroes will score pretty high although I've never really been a fan. Shinobi 3 is something I never finished but I would like to and I guess thats what I will. Play first.
I'm buying Mon amour because it's from onion games and I've adored everything they've released. I would like to get Dungeon Encounters but I'll probably do some YouTube research first as I'm not really sure I will like it. or I may just wait for a sale.
@Krull it was built around the 3ds though, same story but it was its own unique version. I guess they could do something similar here but I think it's likely it won't release on the Switch we have now.
Just not feeling it at the moment. Ive played every entry, I imported a copy of twisted from the U.S and a Japanese copy of the DS release. I even loved the Wii version despite my dodgy disc drive giving read errors conatantly. I'll probably get it eventually but at the moment it's not really on my priority list
I would be very interested to know if Miyamoto just gets what he wants every time or if there's ever any resistance to his ideas? Does anyone ever say no?
Maniac mansion in Day of the tentacle was amazing to me at the time, playing it on a friends PC around release he showed me a game inside a game and it blew my mind that PC's could do this sort of thing and my Mega Drive seemed so basic in comparison... Maniac mansion was on the NES as well I think so somewhat Nintendo related.
@ALinkttPresent considering they're also on ps4 and those games are backwards compatible with ps5 we can only hope that given the success of switch and the fact every other console does it now that a new Switch will be compatible with the old games.
@Slowdive The annoying thing is, Falcom isn't the one giving you these. They don't care about Switch I assume because they don't have the resources to devote to it. NISA is the one to thank for anything Falcom related on Switch, They at least know that's where the money is at the moment.
I justt tried this out myself, mostly because I wanted to get a look at the 'code' screen I'm not sure I could ever do something like this. But I am enjoying GBG from a novices perspective. Very interested to see what can be done with it once people have more experience. Interesting results from day 2 though.
@FX102A That is the game after a while, Sure. It's also why people like myself can put hundreds of hours into MH games. The desire for better gear and bigger numbers is what makes it fun for me, personally.
I finally learnt how to play Mahjong (Riichi Mahjong) with this game. the tutorials weren't amazing but they gave me enough knowledge to experiment with the game and to pick up the rules over multiple plays with some added online reading. The list of Yaku is pretty large and I doubt I'll ever put enough to into the game to memorise them all but I have wanted to learn to play this for many years and I am happy I finally can at least understand what is going on in.
Also play Mahjong Soul on your phone or in a browser. There's always an online game to play there.
I'm grateful that there are some fantastic people out there who come up with all these designs and share them as I have no artistic ability whatsoever.
@CroRock I noticed this only when there was also weeds around the tree. Haven’t seen it other than that, But likely a bug if it’s happening when there are no weeds present.
I've always wanted to play it. I remember when I went for a school trip to London many years ago Hamleys toy shop had the rotating cabinet in the store. It was roped off and I seem to remember it costing £2 or £3 a play which was pretty extortionate at the time. It looked so amazing though, But I didn't play it.
I reckon nowadays that cabinet would just give me motion sickness. The switch version probably will also. Lol.
Ayesha is my favourite of this trilogy. Maybe favourite overall for the entire series, Mostly because the time mechanics didn't make me feel like I was missing out on doing what I wanted and it wasn't non existent like newer games, It felt like the perfect set up and something they should have implemented for the rest of the trilogy. I'm tempted to play these again on Switch actually.
I thought the music sounded a little too much like Phoenix Wright, At least there's a reason for that Looks interesting though. I like picross and Phoenix Wright.
@Chunkboi79 I was thinking purely about digital only releases. Not physical. I understand that a publisher is required to put up the money and sort out all the logistics behind actually having a cartridge on a shelf. It makes less sense to need a publisher when you're going for a digital only release but there's obviously more hurdles to overcome than I would assume and a publisher jumps them for you.
Why do indie devs even need a publisher, Like Nicalis to get their game on the eshop or other store fronts in the first place? What does the publisher actually do for them that they aren't able to do themselves? Assuming it's just a digital only release.
I guess beware if you're planning to purchase this today There's talk on Reddit that the game is unplayable due to a bug with enemy hp. Enemies start to have unusually large amounts of HP and they're impossible to defeat because of this.
It seems wrong to call it a remaster when it has features missing from the original PS1 release. Saying that though, Other than the lack of analogue control nothing has really bothered me. I'm enjoying it a lot. I haven't played ff8 since it was originally released and back then the junction system didn't make much sense to me. It's still a really good game 20 years later, Despite the problems with this release. And it's just fun to break the game with card mods and junction system.
Seems fair enough. If they decide to not release an official translation I hope they can maybe look the other way if fans decide to make one.
There were unofficial English translations of most of the Witcher books available online for quite a few years, I read them before they started releasing the rest of the series in English. I think there was a point were there was some uncertainty if they would even get official English releases. They were decent enough and did the job until the official releases came around.
The Splatoon arrow shaped cases are really, Really ugly. I wouldn't mind one of the Animal Crossing themed cases but... At £24.99? Maybe I'll do without.
Nice review. The game is great, But I played the mobile release a lot when it came out so I already knew this. I wasn’t actually going to pick it up just yet, But the discount plus the announcement of a free dlc sequel this summer sealed the deal.
I hope people will give it a chance, It’s brilliant fun.
This was the first game I ever owned and the only one I had for quite a few months. It was built in to my Master System 2. I loved it and at the time. I’ll be picking this up soon.

@Joeynator3000 I had to look it up. But a DSi ware title! I don’t remember it and I played quite a few DSI games.

This looks so good.
Re: Feature: Yuji Horii And Tachi Inuzuka - Making A Dragon Quest That Can Be "Enjoyed Casually"

I'd honestly prefer to play this on a tablet. Hopefully the mobile release is soon.
