Normally I'd be annoyed, but this seems to be a catch-up week for them; 4 out of their 6 games we've had for months now.

Given the unfairness of it all, it's weird when it's the Japanese who play catch-up...

Without knowing the power of the emulator, I have no friggin clue because most of the games I'm interested in were made in the 90s, like Super Street Fighter II Turbo (thus ending the debate of which one is best, but probably best if it never comes) or the X men. Still, there are a lot of good choices here and there...

Looks like we're following the 2007 pattern: sucky first half, good-to-awesome second half of the year! Actually, Q1 2007 wasn't that bad. Maybe it's punishment for ESRB? Ah well, NOA gave us one of the trio of "I'M A BRAINDEAD NINTENDO FAN SO OTHER GAMES SUCK!" RPGs: SMRPG, EarthBound, and Chrono Trigger.

Granted, this tactic will destroy the VC so that when SS2 and Ys are finally released in 2011 no one will care, but I don't think I can understand them anymore. SNK, Capcom, and Hudson must be really annoyed. All the games were ANNOUNCED by them, not rumored by some freak at NeoGAF; what kind of game is Nintendo playing?

This does not bode well for EarthBound...

I don't care much for Ys, but the music to Legend of Xanadu II- made by the same people- is amazing; I might have to pick it up...just not now, I have quite a few to play through.

Actually, it took them a long time to get SMB3. The release schedules are very strange when compared. We were last in getting RCR by several months for instance, and Europe had MM as an exclusive for a long time.

@ WarioFan63: I wouldn't call this impatience of the masses, I'd call this sheer incompetence. Yes, we got River City Ransom eventually, but one game weeks were almost unheard of too you know. Now it's almost expected...

Dear god. I can't believe there's practically two sides to this.

First: Too few games coming out. Have you guys seen the ESRB list? There's quite a few that should still be coming out, such as Shining Force 2 (which will be released next month in Japan) and Earthbound. Not that I think a no-earthbound week is crap like all the EB/some Ninty fanboys, but the fact that it's much larger than America's average vc week is incomprehensible. NOE understands this; that's why they finally closed the gap and, I expect, will surpass it next week. Unless we're just getting tied together and that's why America has slowed down while Europe sped up (Japan still has more games and some better, but there's still catch up; they got Mario 3 way later than either of us did)

My problem is the LACK of good games. Screw "More nintendo games!" Earthbound is not the only game to ever exist! The problem is that many others are available elsewhere. If you have a PS2, then Fatal Fury 2 is on at least one collection- which will probably come to the Wii at this rate. More importantly, you can actually get it and many other Neo Geo games on your computer through GameTap for $10 a month or $60 a year, both of which much cheaper than VC.

So what I want is stuff that hasn't been released elsewhere. Castlevania Rondo of Blood was on PSP, but the portable is not nearly as common as computers or PS2s; according to the purists the port has problems anyway. We already have at least three versions of Mario 3, a GBA release of Yoshi's Island, and at least one GC disc with Majora's Mask on it. But where's Kiko 7, a weird Neo Geo game that is considered excellent? What happened to Crystalis, a good Zelda clone on the NES (I might be wrong about zelda)? Why no love for the Wily Wars, a Genesis game that was on Sega Channel? Parodius, a J/Euro series that actually brings something to the shooter genre? And, yes, Earthbound- why isn't that out by now, let alone Mother (they can finally make money on that!) or, yes, Super Bomber Man 5, perhas the best Bomber Man, and one that is J only?

What's with you Nintendo? And some of your fans for that matter?

Wait, wait WAIT. Only ONE VC game and ONE WiiWare game this week? Dear lord! At least we were getting 3-4 total before but this is insane!

At this rate, Europe will get 10-15 VC and 4-6 WiiWare games a month. Jesus Christ! We won't even be close! Nintendo of America, what the heck are you doing?!?

Burning Fight is good because I'm pretty sure that was revealed on the ESRB list a long time ago. They're finally checking the ERSB list! And the last few weeks have been decent at least!

Sad thing is, by alternating 5 VC and 2 WiiWare, you guys will still getting way more VC on a regular basis than us and our 2-1 and 1-2 VC to WiiWare weeks. And you have Smash next week at last!

I loved this game when I was ten. I still liked it a lot when I replayed it somewhat recently. Trust me, this is a great game! At the rate you guys are going, you guys should get this- with Earthbound- before 2009, and USA sometime before Summer 09. I hope that was an exaggeration.

Not much into Earthbound? I understand. If you're not into being a power trip with somewhat lesser grinding or the quirky atmosphere I see what you mean. The game is still great though- and still above Dragon Quest. Sure it came out first, but the question is NOW and NOW EB is probably the better game. Now if you were talking about DQ3...drools

I heard that most of the great games on the PC-Engine- like Dracula X- were never brought over here. Look like that's true, especially with some fun shooters.

No, that's just confusion. A lot of the games Nintendo has released recently ARE horrible, which encourages the ignorant to see more games that they don't know as similar the other stupid stuff.
