Re: Review: Metroid Fusion ( / Game Boy Advance)

Link79

When This and the original Metroid Prime released on the same day back in 2002 the series was brought back from the dead in a big way! I absolutely loved this game and in some ways I even thought it was better than the almighty super Metroid.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap ( / Game Boy Advance)

Link79

Funny how skyward sword got a perfect 10 yet the complaints about controls would suggest otherwise. Minish cap has traditional button controls yet it only got a 9/10. What brought Minish cap's score down by that one point? The lack of dungeons? The fact that it's 2-D when at this point they were mostly all 3D?

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap ( / Game Boy Advance)

Link79

This was the last 2-D overhead view styled Zelda and a great one!
I really liked how well they used the shrinking idea in this.
The puzzles are very clever and well thought out.
The music is catchy and there's alot of classic remixes in there too.
It might be short if you rush through but the completionist could easily spend far longer getting everything.

Re: North America to Get Zelda: Skyward Sword Save File Fix

Link79

I'm glad they are doing this but the glitch is really easy to avoid if you do the song of the hero part in the correct order.
Remember the order you visit the three areas at the start of the game?
Go back to them for the last song in that same order.
Faron, Eldin and last Lanayru. Levias even tells you to visit them and the names appear in that order when he tells you where to go.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Year of Giving

Link79

Not to sound fanboyish but clearly Nintendo is where it's at.
If you don't think they are the best gaming company around I feel sorry for you. They are why I love videogames in the first place.
Santa clause, you got owned this year.

Re: Nintendo Japan Preparing Skyward Sword Save File Fixer

Link79

Rather than the game giving you the choice of which part to do first it should have been a pre set path. It just seemed like the order should be the same as the order you first visit the areas so that's what I did. Glad it worked out for me but it is unfortunite for the unlucky few.

Re: Nintendo Japan Preparing Skyward Sword Save File Fixer

Link79

There's a really simple solution to avoiding this glitch.
When it's time to do the part with the three dragons do them in this order... Water, Fire and then Thunder.
It's the same order in which you visit these areas at the begining of the game.
So that's Faron, Eldin and last Lanayru. Never start with the thunder dragon first.
That's what causes the glitch. Always follow this pattern and you'll never get the glitch.
Problem solved!

Re: Aonuma: "Future Zelda Games Will Use Motion Controls"

Link79

I'll admit my first playthrough started out kinda rough.
I was still getting used to how the combat worked and got killed alot. Now I'm able to slice and dice bad guys with no problem. It just takes time and anyone should be able to learn the controls after playing enough.

Re: How to Avoid Skyward Sword's Game-Ending Glitch

Link79

I Did the water Dragon part first then Thunder dragon and last the fire Dragon and had no problems.
I have also never encountered this Other M glitch and I played through it three times.
It is rather unfortunite that glitches like these still get into games after all the delays before they release. What were they doing with all that extra development time?

Re: Aonuma: "We'll See" About Zelda Voice Acting

Link79

I don't see what's so bad with having Link just stick with the yells and grunts he does. They are plenty expressive enough without the need for talking.
Metroid other M had voice acting and everybody complained.
Didn't we learn anything from that?
Maybe if Link only said one or two words it would be okay but we don't need him yacking on like Samus did. If the voice work isn't going to be perfect it's better left out.
If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Re: Feature: Keeping Mario at the Top

Link79

Mario is an everyman. Just about anyone who's ever played a videogame has likely enjoyed a Mario game at some point. You don't need a big story to follow the games.
Your only task is to save that princess and stomp on anything that gets in your way.

Re: Japanese Virtual Console List - December 2011

Link79

Maybe it's just me but I thought the X series got better with each release.
Well up until X5 anyway and then it all went down the crapper.
Now come on where's our VC games in other territories?
We like classic games too dammit!

Re: Nintendo Delayed Skyward Sword To Get It Just Right

Link79

I'm loving this game so far!
Nintendo did a really good job making sure this wasn't the same old grind.
It has a really fresh exciting feel. The controls did take some getting used to but now I'm really enjoying it.

Well I could go on and on about it but I gotta get back to the game.

Re: Feature: The Revolution of the Wii

Link79

Man did that go by fast!
I remember hooking it up and showing my Dad how to play Wii sports.
He hardly touched a videogame in his life but there he was at 56 hooked on the bowling game.
He started hogging it everyday and I almost had to hide it from him.
The Wii gave me alot of great gaming memories. Can't wait to see what Wii U brings to the table.
