Re: Nintendo Download: 14th July 2011 (North America)

I guess the addition of Netflix today gives them an excuse not to add any Wii VC games.
I'm pretty sure we didn't get one last week so we should have gotten one today.
Not sure if the Gameboy games this week are worth getting excited about.

Re: Review: Roller Angels (DSiWare)

Link79

I don't know about this one. I'd feel like a sissy buying such a girly looking game but it does sound interesting. On the other hand I do like platformers. I checked out the Demo video just for laughs and it actually looked well made. I might give it a chance.

Re: The Thought of a Shooter-Only Future Makes Iwata Sad

Link79

I'm not going to bash FPS games. I do get in the mood to play them sometimes.
I miss the days when games were fun without being violent.
Most kids today think Mario is lame.
It's all about the War games now.
That's why so many uninformed parents try to blame real violence on videogames.
They think all of them are about killing and gore.

Re: Features: 10 Life Lessons Learned From Mega Man

Link79

The only reason people say Mega man 1 is the hardest is no E-tanks.
I find the most difficult parts without a free refill are these...

1.Yellow devil
2. Mega clone He still infuriates me to this day.
3. Boss gauntlet towards end.
4. Dr Wily.
Other than those moments the rest of the game is cake.

Re: Features: 10 Life Lessons Learned From Mega Man

This article kinda depresses me. There's been alot of talk lately about the Mega man series dying off due to Inafune leaving Capcom. considering the future without the man who created it is a scary thought.
We still have Legends 3 to look forward to. (so far)
Other than that it's not looking good.
Lots of great memories from this series.
It was fun while it lasted.

Re: ANIMA: Ark of Sinners

For some reason I'm smelling a review of 7/10.
It won't be fantastic but just so so. I hope I'm wrong but We'll see.
It just looks kinda meh to me.

Re: Review: Kirby's Dream Land (Game Boy)

Link79

Nostalgia is probably my biggest reason for downloading this.
It was one of my first gameboy games. The music is just superb and it stays with you long after turning off the game. With only 5 stages it can be finished in roughly 20 minutes. There is however a code for hard mode which might add some replay value.
It's still a great game when you just need something quick to play.

Re: Nintendo Download: 30th June 2011 (North America)

Link79

I don't care that Kirby's dream land is so short. Everything else about it is so good the length hardly matters. The music is so memorable and catchy.
I just love King DeDeDe's theme!
Glad to see FF VI finally arrive on VC. This will be my first time playing all the way through.

Re: Review: Sonic Advance (Game Boy Advance)

Link79

Great game but one thing always confused me. Why do the Genesis games look and sound so much better? GBA was supposed to be a 32 bit system yet the Sonic advance games seem more primitive by comparison. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Re: Nintendo Download: 30th June 2011 (Europe)

Link79

I still like the original Gameboy Kirby better than any of the rest.
It was his first game ever and what a game it was!
A fantastic introduction to one of Nintendo's most beloved characters!
Please come to America this thursday Kirby!

Re: Review: Double Dragon (Game Boy)

Link79

I might get this just because I'm a sucker for beat em ups.
Where the heck are the sequels to the first Nes game though?
They still have yet to be released on the Wii VC.
I wonder what the hold up is?

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 Due "In the Near Future"

Link79

I knew this game wasn't getting cancelled despite so many suggesting it was. I'm one of the few who actually liked it. Okay so the physics were a little off I'll admit. It was still an enjoyable game. Some of it was too much rehash though and not enough new material.
Hopefully things will be better for the sequel.

Re: Features: A View from Hyrule Field

Link79

This game had a huge impact on the Zelda series and videogames in general. Every bit of it is amazing to behold. I remember that first time stepping out into Hyrule field and just staring in awe!
I was hooked for months. Only stopping to eat, sleep or go to the bathroom.

Re: Nintendo Download: 16th June 2011 (North America)

Link79

Okay so what's the deal with the update day? Is it monday for Wiiware and VC and Thursday for 3DS VC and Dsiware? I keep getting two different stories. Why would they suddenly make thursday the day for all updates? Since when do they ever announce releases ahead of time? Also no VC game this week is total BS. We didn't get a single VC game last week either. The pattern of one game every other week has been the norm for a while now so where's Final Fantasy VI?

Re: First Impressions: Luigi's Mansion 2 (3DS)

Link79

Luigi's mansion was one of the first games I bought for Gamecube.
People were harsh with it back then for being so short. It was bashed alot and called more of a tech demo than an actual game.
I really loved it though and I never expected there to be a sequel.
Anybody else's jaw drop when they announced this?
Mine sure did!

Re: Wii U Uses 25GB Discs and Lacks GameCube Compatibility

Link79

Well since it doesn't play Gamecube games that's a good reason to hang on to your original Wii. I would never get rid of a system I spent good money on. No matter how old and out of date it gets. I still have every Nintendo console that has come out. It would be nice to have Gamecube games on the Wii U VC but I'm not counting on it.

Re: Sony President Thinks 3DS is Just an Updated DS

Link79

The PS3 is just an updated PS2 then right?
Ever notice how Nintendo doesn't go around tooting their own horn?
Our stuff is better blah blah blah. Yeah you never hear that kinda talk from Nintendo. Sega used to brag about being so much better than Nintendo and look at them now. They aren't even in the console buisiness. Serves them right for being so smug.
Maybe Sony can join them and go back to making TV's.

Re: eShop Games Start from $1.99 and Other Interesting Information

Link79

The prices seem fair to me. Just a reminder for those too young to remember. Gameboy games used to cost about 30/35 dollars.
I'd say 3.99 is a good deal. Same complaining went on about the Wii VC pricing. Those cartridges were over 50 bucks.
Don't be like this guy.
