Re: Feature: Remembering the GameCube

Link79

Wow ten years! Where did the time go?
I remember lining up at the store to pick up my first Gamecube back in 2001.
I grabbed up Star Wars Rogue leader and Luigi's Mansion.
Took it home, Hooked it right up and spent all day playing. Those little mini discs were adorable!

Re: Nintendo Download: 17th November 2011 (North America)

Link79

I already bought Kirby's adventure on Wii VC years back.
Unless the 3D makes a big difference I might pass.
I'd assume we'll get something next week on Wii VC for sure.
That's right around thanksgiving.
It would be so wrong to leave VC fans hangin on that week.

Re: Rumour: Strider Bound for Wii Virtual Console

Link79

What I wanna know is why has it taken this long for any VC games to be even considered for release? The Wii might have another year to go.
Let's not abandon it just yet.
Not everyone is gonna go out and buy a Wii U on day one.

Re: Review: Shinobi (3DS)

Link79

Just as I suspected from the begining. Not quite as stellar as the Genesis titles but decent. I still may pick this up but Shinobi's grand return this is not.
Now how about someone attempt to bring Ninja Gaiden back to it's 2-D roots?
Hopefully with more success.

Re: Zelda Top Brass Discuss Link To the Past in 3D

Link79

Weren't they saying a while back we are only getting maybe 6 3D classics?
I thought it was too difficult to convert them.
It certainly would be nice to have something respectable instead of lame crap like Urban Champion.

Re: Review: Balloon Kid (3DS Virtual Console / Game Boy)

Link79

I don't see how this is redundant when it's a completely different game from the original.
It's not just a Gameboy version of the Nes game.
Also I can't find one negative review online except right here on Nintendolife.
Gamefaqs has all positive reviews as well as Ign. This score does not compute.

Re: Silicon Knights Working on "Most Requested Title" for Next Gen

Link79

If this means what I think it does then all I can say is...
IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!
An Eternal Darkness sequel is looooooong overdue.
Say what you want I absolutely loved that game!
How many games will pretend to erase your save file just to screw with your head? None that I remember. Awesome game!

Re: Japanese Virtual Console List: November 2011

Link79

I've been wanting Strider since forever!
They better at least release that one in America.
What makes them think only Japan should still be getting VC games while everyone else gets nothing? This is such a load of Horse crap.

Re: Final Wii U Form to Be Shown At E3 2012

Link79

I'm betting on an early 2013 release myself.
The Wii U is being shown in it's final form during next years E3.
That's already the middle of the year.
I doubt it'll be released just six months later.
I smell a delay.

Re: Round Table: Let's Talk About Castlevania

Link79

I've been playing all the games in chronological order this whole month. My first experience was with the original Nes game. It was hard as hell but that awesome music kept me coming back for more! I was always a big horror fan so the Vampire theme drew me in. Once i got into it I couldn't stop playing!

I wish Konami would hurry up and announce something new for the series. I'm starting to think they have run out of ideas. Releasing the Gameboy games on 3DS would be a step in the right direction. Or How about some Bloodlines on Wii VC?
I think we've waited long enough.

Re: Feature: Castlevania - The Terrifying Ten

Link79

I can't decide which I love more between Rondo or Super Castlevania IV.
Both are so amazing! If it wasn't for the VC I may never have owned Rondo.
Thank goodness for that release! Now please Konami put Belmont's revenge on the 3DS shop!
While you're at it how about Bloodlines on Wii?
It's the only Castlevania I never owned and I want it now dammit!

Re: Feature: Resident Evil's Most Nightmare-Inducing Moments

Link79

That part in the hallway of the first RE with the dogs is what made me love this series! Never before that moment had a videogame nearly made me lose bladder control.
I almost threw the controller across the room and flipped over in my chair!
After I regained my composure I said to myself, damn that was awesome!
Been a RE nut ever since!

Re: Double Dragon II Coming to Save Wii Virtual Console

Link79

Wow I honestly thought this was never coming.
The original Nes game has been on VC for years and just now they're throwing us this one?
Took long enough. This is my favorite of the series!
Now we wait. Guess I'll be able to download it by 2015 then.

@ Mr_Moore3506
I remember those Tiger hand helds!
I actually owned that version before playing the Nes game.

Re: Review: Wario World (GameCube)

Link79

I had this game but after one playthrough that was enough for me.
I traded it in the very next day. It was more frustrating then fun. Very dissapointing game.

Re: Feature: Resident Evil's Nintendo History

Link79

I'm still waiting on a port of RE 5 on a Nintendo system. It's just not right that every other numbered game in the series was made available to us except RE 5. Maybe they could port it to Wii U but it's doubtfull.

Re: Review: Horizon Riders (WiiWare)

Link79

@ Skotski
What ruins the game is not what console it was put on.
The Wii has many games that don't use motion controls at all.
I suspect most users of the balance board are casual players and
this type of game is not suited for the casual.
If they wanted to make the game playable without the balance board
they could have done a far better job.

On the topic of Skyward sword,
yes I do plan on swinging the remote since that is the only possible way of playing.
At least I don't have to use the balance board. That thing is about as dumb as the Gamecube Bongos.

Re: Review: Horizon Riders (WiiWare)

Link79

I have never owned a balance board nor do I ever care to.
By making this game rely so heavily on this method of control it really ruins the experience. These controls mixed with this type of game was a dumb idea.
Is anybody really gonna play this standing on a balance board? Seems rediculous to me.
This could have been one of Wiiware's best.
Instead it's another cool looking game ruined by gimicky controls.

Re: Explore Skyward Sword's Skyview Dungeon

Link79

Good to see there's a few others who didn't outright despise TP.
I will never understand why it's more debated than any other Zelda. It's like Other M and it's highly argued upon quality. Twilight doesn't seem like an Ocarina clone to me but if that's what people wanna call it.

Re: Explore Skyward Sword's Skyview Dungeon

Link79

@ Shingi_70
That doesn't seem like a good reason for TP to miss peoples expectations. Just because getting the master sword required three items is kinda a trivial thing to be dissapointed with.
You gotta earn it somehow. Who's to say it won't be similar in skyward sword? Unless everyone else knows something I don't.

Re: Explore Skyward Sword's Skyview Dungeon

Link79

@ James
Well you might have a point there. Dungeon, Palace, Tomb whatever
Anyway yeah Twilight did have a sky palace in the later part of the game.
You fight a big dragon at the end using your double clawshots.
Ring any bells?

Re: Feature: Remembering the Super Game Boy

Link79

Ha! I still have my Super Gameboy cart!
It never made sense to me why the Wii didn't include a built in Gameboy player.
If they were able to have Gameboy games played on your TV back in 1994 and again on Gameboy player for the Cube why not now? Plus the Super Gameboy could add almost full color to those old pea green games but on the 3DS VC this isn't possible?
Is technology going backwards?
I guess the old green color wasn't cool back then but suddenly now it's all retro and nostalgic.
Frankly I'd rather have an option for color.
