Guess we can expect this by sometime in 2015 then. I'd really like to know why it takes Nicalis so damn long to release games on Wiiware or whatever. Still waiting for La-Mulana if and when it ever get's released.
It's so cool that one of my favorite comedians is also a Zelda fan! So much of a fan he named his daughter Zelda. Hope to see them in some Skyward sword Adverts!
This is quite a refreshing change! I always felt they would make a cute couple. Nothing wrong with a little romance in a good fantasy setting. If I was Zelda and not a guy I'd totally do Link! Ok maybe that was too much info LOL.
I'm still not sure this is going to be the true Return of Shinobi. I just can't get myself to like the graphic style. My gut tells me It'll be a letdown but we'll see.
To the people complaining about the difficulty or lack of I have to ask... You ever known a Mario game to be hard? I think that's why just about everyone enjoys Mario. They are easily accessible to anyone. None of the games are hair pullingly difficult. It's supposed to be fun not frustrating.
Check this out! Link gets lucky! Don't click if you aren't wanting to be spoiled though. You've been warned. [youtube:coasAHnIYz0] Pause at 1:12 for a shocker!
I was actually surprised this landed on 3DS VC so soon. I absolutely love this game! It was a gift for my 13th b-day back in 1992. It's like Mario 3 and world had a baby. Lots of cool fun worlds with the first ever appearance of Wario. Speaking of Wario I'm looking forward to playing those again soon!
@ Corbs Right on man! If people can't afford 4 bucks for this amazing game maybe they chose the wrong hobby. I feel sorry for those guys.
@ JayArr Yeah we need some answers. The Wii U might be over a year away and already they've ditched the VC? Don't these companies that release games know the Wii isn't finished yet?
Give it three years and the 3DS VC will die too. There just isn't enough people left that care about these old games. They aren't selling well and getting them the illegal way is easier. Damn pirates!
Somebody needs to ask Sega what's up with Monster World IV? They promised a translated version would be released on Wii VC later this year. The Wii VC is aparently dead already though. So much for that hype.
Finally the Wario series is on the way! I traded these games in years ago and felt like a fool ever since. These games were fantastic and I never should have got rid of them. Soon I'll be redeemed!
I never was crazy about the N64 controller. The control stick would really hurt my thumbs after long gaming sessions. Not enough padding and too small I guess. Plus that almost pointless D-pad. Hardly any games used it. Out of habit I tried using the D-pad for Mario 64 the first time I played and couldn't figure why Mario wouldn't move. Then the lightbulb in my head came on and I figured it out.
The master system version wasn't that great anyway so no big loss. Wasn't that just an 8-bit version of the same game on turbo grafx? I could be wrong but I thought those two were practically the same.
@ timp29 I'd have to go with R-type 3 being the best. The graphics are amazing for Snes. It's a bit short though with only six stages I think. The Turbo grafx one is good too.
The N64 didn't quite live up to the greatness of Snes but it was still awesome! I don't regret choosing it over PS1 for a minute. This thing gave me many hours of thrilling game experiences! No one's gonna tell me N64 flopped. Pity how poorly it was treated on VC.
@ Shoopdawoop70 The curtains aren't that distracting are they? The original arcade game wasn't widescreen so that's probably got something to do with it.
I definitely enjoyed this much more than Xevious. The difficulty is much more forgiving and the music is actually catchy. I end up turning down the volume on Xevious because it really starts to grate. If you're not into hardcore shooters and want something easy to get into go with Twinbee.
It does seem strange that Gameboy is no longer the name used for Nintendo's handhelds. When the DS came out I still sometimes called it a Gameboy out of habit. That was sorta a bad name if ya think about it. Like only boys play videogames right? GBA might still be my favorite Nintendo handheld.
They just aren't ready to tell us yet. Nintendo is very secretive about things. They'll announce GBA games available for all at some point. Remember when they said the Wii hadn't run out of surprises yet? Only took a few months later to announce Wii U. They love playing mind games with us.
I can see people not liking this. In Wind waker it took forever sailing all over for those Triforce pieces. I'm betting this game has a similar fetch quest towards the end as well. So much for Skyward sword being flawless.
@ Corbs I do think I read a story on here recently about a rope game on Wiiware being out in America. I think it's actually called burn the rope. Is Cut the Rope a sequel or something? What's next? Tie the rope in a Knot?
I always liked Luigi's mansion. Even when it was brand new. It was one of the first Gamecube games I bought. Upon loading up the game for the first time I was amazed at what I saw. The graphics made my jaw hit the floor in disbelief. The lightning crashed through the windows and lit up the whole room. It was awesome! I was bummed it was over so soon but what a blast!
This is a decent first entry on Gameboy but the sequels are far better. Well not counting MM 2 on GB of course. Don't know what happened with that one but something went horribly wrong. MM 4 and 5 are fantastic and just as good as the Nes games. With the rate of VC releases we'll probably see those in 3 years
@ Samholy You wanna talk about the worst Mega man then you should see the 2nd one on Gameboy. That game was absoloutely horrid. The music didn't even sound like Mega man music. Wily's revenge was pretty basic but still a decent effort for what was possible on Gameboy. Once they got to Gameboy MM3 the games were nearly as good as the Nes games.
Can't believe there's still people doubting the 3DS's success. The poor thing hasn't even been through one holiday season yet. Just give it room to grow.
The series isn't really back until we get something new. Face it this is just another rehash of a game We've already played. A remake isn't going to cut it they really want to resurrect this series.
Without restore points these ambassador games seem incomplete. It's virtual console for a reason. If I want a so called (no frills) experience I'll just hook up my old systems. I don't see the point of having downloadable games without the extra bells and whistles provided.
@ Heavy_barrel My guess is they plan on finishing out the year with the 10 remaining VC games on the coming soon list. Some may carry over into early next year and after that Wii VC will officially die just in time for Wii U's release.
Well I guess America's update has now turned into Europe's. Neither of us are getting Wii VC games anymore. They could've given us something. Adventure Island 2, Lufia, Monster world IV translated, Mega man X2 or even Strider. Instead we get the old two finger salute.
If they are talking about the 2nd quest then yeah that's hard. The normal quest isn't so bad though. I'm not gonna say I never got a game over but I have completed it many times. I bet Anouma would really get frustrated with Adventure of Link. That one would make anyone give up.
With all the recent hype over Star fox 64 3D you'd think Nintendo would give us the original on VC. I still don't buy that the Wii couldn't handle emulating the FX chip. Such a missed opportunity.
Anybody here fans of Star fox Adventures? Yeah I know it's not really a Star fox game but I still loved it.
Points at the ready huh? Not until I see a review they're not. When was the last time we had a must have Wiiware game? I honestly don't recall. At 1500 points this better be amazing.

I was expecting Catrap. Oh well looks like another lousy week for us.
Still no love for Wii VC despite the fact the Wii hasn't died just yet.

Re: Review: Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (3DS Virtual Console / Game Boy)
This game was amazing when it came out and it still holds up really well today.
A 9/10 review is totally fair and justified.

Re: Review: Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (3DS Virtual Console / Game Boy)
My mom had to pay 30 dollars for this on the cartridge.
Now a measly 4 bucks is too much? Dang people.
That's like buying a single cheeseburger.

Why would they only be removing the master system version?
If it's a licensing issue shouldn't all versions be removed?
Re: Nintendo Download: 29th September 2011 (Europe)
I can see it now. Europe gets mario land 2, Japan gets Metroid 2.
In America we'll probably get Catrap or something really lame.

Don't even bother waiting for a review on Mario Land 2.
The game is awesome! No questions asked.
Download it as soon as you can!
Re: Review: Escape Trick: Ninja Castle (DSiWare)
I could tell just by the trailer this was trash.
Not the type of Ninja Game I was expecting at all.
Re: Nintendo Download: 29th September 2011 (Europe)
Holy Nintendo Joygasm Batman!
They better give this awesome update to America this week.
If they don't that'd just be cruel.

Hopefully 3D classics Twinbee will be worth downloading.
Other than that this is a lame update.

Gameboy Mega man! Sweetness!

I hate when they do this. I spend all that money on the games separately for Wiiware and they turn around and put it all on a disc. If only I'd known.
