Re: Review: FAST - Racing League (WiiWare)

Link79

@ outrun2sp
I think I will try unlocking those F- zero AX tracks again. It always bothered me that I wussed out and never fully completed it.
It's one of the few games that tested my patience to the limit.
I'd really like to master it once and for all.

Re: Games Do More Damage Than Passive Smoking, says Doctor

Link79

I was watching gory violent movies since I was 5 years old and I didn't turn into a murdering psychopath. Why would videogames be more damaging than movies or cigarettes for that matter? Besides smoking gives you cancer. Has anyone ever got cancer from playing a videogame?

Re: Review: FAST - Racing League (WiiWare)

Link79

@ outrun2sp
I never did unlock all the stuff in F-Zero GX. I might have to dig that game out and make another attempt at it. I'll probably be pulling my hair out though.
That game is insanely difficult but I still loved it.

Re: Here's Japan's 3DS eShop Launch Day Line-Up

Link79

If these are to be the american launch games as well then I see three I'm getting. Mega man, Mario land and Kirby are good choices. I'm not so familiar with yen though. What's the american equivalent of these prices?

Re: La-Mulana Hits Japan On 21st June

Link79

Well I certainly hope they inspected this game better before it got the final approval for release. It amazes me how much random garbage gets approved yet a great looking title like this sits dormant for so long.
Also on the issue of Nightsky am I to assume a Wiiware release isn't happening then? I heard something about it being on PC but no news on Wiiware.

Re: La-Mulana Hits Japan On 21st June

Link79

Bout damn time. What seems to be the problem with Nicalis and their Wiiware games. Cave Story took what felt like forever to be released. There's been no word at all on Nightsky or whatever it's called.
Is it really so hard for these guys to make games for Wiiware?
Let's hope this isn't full of glitches like Cave story was before the update.

Re: Mario and Link Make eShop Cards Look Good

Link79

I can't believe they still haven't announced pricing yet on the Gameboy downloads. How much are these old games going to cost us anyway?
They might want to give us that information some time soon.
Don't tell me the e shop will be delayed yet again.

Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Try to Recapture 'Hardcore' Gamers?

Link79

I would like to see more third parties getting involved with making games for Nintendos new system. It was really frustrating that the Wii kept being stiffed on alot of great games. It just didn't have the horsepower and developers wanted nothing to do with it.
No current system should be lagging behind the others.
Hopefully this new system is powerfull enough to match up to the rest.

Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Try to Recapture 'Hardcore' Gamers?

Link79

They never lost them as far as I'm concerned. If you gave up on gaming ever since the Wii then how "Hardcore" could you have been?
It will be nice if Nintendo breaks away from the usual bottom of the barrel status graphics wise.
Saying they lost the harcore this Gen is just Ignorant. There are many games in this category for Wii.
You just have to look past the Shovelware. It's not just a waggle machine for 70+ year old grannies.

Re: SEGA Makes Shinobi Official, First Shots Inside

Link79

They got some guy at IGN to preview this game who claimed he wasn't even a fan of the series. Sounds like he'd be the perfect authority on the new game then right? Based on this short video it's hard to say but I hope it's good.

Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Mixes 16-bit and Rush Gameplay

Link79

@ Highwinter
I was under the impression that Sonic 4 did well. Most gaming sites including this one gave it a positive review. The game was very well recieved Commercially according to Sega's brand manager Ken Bolough.
It would be stupid for them to just ditch plans for episode 2.

Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Mixes 16-bit and Rush Gameplay

Link79

Great now you'll probably need both versions or you'll be missing out on something.
Anyone heard if Dimps is still working on Sonic 4 Episode 2? It's strange we are getting a flood of Generations info but not even a single screen shot of Sonic 4 episode 2.
Did Sega just abandon it?

Re: Wii Just Couldn't Handle Sonic Generations

Link79

I bet the reason the 3DS can handle it is because it's not going to be the same version. Probably a watered down port or a half assed attempt to appease Sonic fans. The 3DS isn't HD either so explain to me how it's going to be so much more capable than Wii?
It'll probably get ported to Nintendo's next console anyway.

Re: Sonic Generations 3DS & New Shinobi Title Confirmed

Link79

Shinobi is making a comeback! Bout damn time too.
Now how about Bringing Ninja Gaiden back to it's roots?
Imagine the same cool nes style sidescrolling gameplay and those mid stage cutscenes!
Tecmo are you listening?
Bring back classic Ryu!

Re: Rumour: Sega and Griptonite Working on Shinobi 3DS

Link79

I was hoping this would happen someday. The VC was my first experience with the Shinobi series. It's really great to hear a new one is coming out. I'd like it to be a more retro styled game though.
Keep it classic and like the Shinobi games on Genesis.
Let's just pretend the PS2 game never existed.

Re: Review: LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean (Wii)

Link79

I might have given it a 7 but 6 is fair. It's not perfect but still a decent Lego game. Pirates fans will probably still get a kick out of it. Now all we need is Lego Lord of the rings or Back to the future.

Re: Feast Your Eyes on Zelda: Ocarina of Time Artwork

Link79

I have a poster on my wall of that third picture just below the Deku Tree! I got it out of an old Nintendo Power magazine from when the game first came out. I stood in line at the store in the rain to be one of the first to own a copy.

Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Rumours Gain Speed

Link79

@ Jumpmad
I was going to ask that first but your username should have tipped me off.
You're probably just not as familiar with the older games.
Anyone who grew up with them most likely agrees they are great.

Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Rumours Gain Speed

Link79

@ Linkstrikesback
There are alot of old games that can still be fun to play despite having a nostalgic attachment to them. I've bought many games on the Wii VC I never knew about and they quickly became favorites.

Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Rumours Gain Speed

Link79

@ Jumpmad
Are you nuts? Classic Sonic owns. I like all the Genesis originals far better than any of the newer ones. Modern Sonic is getting better but it will never be as great as those old gems.

@ Highwinter
Maybe Sonic 4 was poorly recieved by you but not everyone hated it. I for one thought it was very good.
I'll admit It could use some tweaking. At least the Music was excellent. If you didn't like Splash Hill's theme there's something wrong with your ears. The whole Physics thing didn't bother me that much.
This is coming from a huge fan of the Genesis games.
Sonic 4 Episode 2 can only be an improvement and I'm still looking forward to it.

Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Rumours Gain Speed

Link79

So lemmie get this straight. The 3DS can handle a port of Sonic Generations but Wii can't? Oh well as long as Nintendo players can get this game too.
Oh Btw what ever happened to Sonic 4 Episode 2?
Shouldn't we have heard something by now?

Re: Features: Re-Examining Zelda: Twilight Princess

Link79

@ Bass_X0
Well it's certainly easier with a guide but every Zelda game has a few tedious things about them. Everyone acts like TP is the only game with annoying fetch quests. I guess you have to be really hardcore for Zelda in order to look past a few flaws.

Re: Features: Re-Examining Zelda: Twilight Princess

Link79

I feel like I'm the only one alive who loved this game. I may even go as far to say it is my Favorite of the series. The rest of the world seems to hate it or feel it's the worst. Oh well I had a blast playing it and that's all that matters to me.

Re: You Must Finish Ocarina of Time 3D to Take On the Master Quest

Link79

@ Warioswoods
Even on my first time playing Ocarina it only took me about a month.
I've beat it so many times now I can do it very quickly. I don't even need a guide anymore since I have everything memorized. When I complete dungeons in Zelda I never stop mid way. That would make it harder to remember where you left off. I usually spend about an hour at a time playing and that's enough to make decent progress. I honestly don't think any game ever took me a whole year to finish.
That's a really long time to be so distracted by everyday life.
