It's a rather average week for the Nintendo Download this week, except for one title, which is the often overlooked Game Boy Color sequel to Blaster Master. No new 3DS Download Software this time, though you're probably still too busy playing Pushmo to care much.
3DS Virtual Console
Blaster Master: Enemy Below (Sunsoft, $4.99) — This sequel to the NES game reuses a lot of assets, but is still rather enjoyable and possibly even better than the first game, as you can read in our Blaster Master: Enemy Below review.
DSiWare
Elite Forces: Unit 77 (Abylight, 800pts) — A 3D action/strategy game, featuring tanks, helicopters and rocket launchers. We'll tell you what we think of it soon.
Just Sing! Christmas Vol. 3 (DTP Entertainment, 200pts) — Another instalment of the karaoke series, this one features some more Christmas tunes. As our Just Sing! Christmas Vol. 3 review says, you'd do best to avoid it.
WordJong Arcade (Magellan Interactive, 800pts) — A mahjong solitaire game featuring cartoony animals. Keep an eye out for our review, which should tell you if it's better than any of the other mahjong games available.
WiiWare
Carmen Sandiego Adventures in Math: The Lady Liberty Larceny (Gamelion Studios, 600pts) — Finally, a WiiWare instalment in the well-known series. We'll let you know if it's worth searching for soon.
WiiWare Demo
Paint Splash — A simple painting application allowing you to draw pictures, you can now try it out to see if it's better than MS Paint for you or not. We thought it was quite good in our Paint Splash review.
Anything interesting for you this week?

Is there any official word whether North America is getting the ambassador games on Friday?
That's nice.
Now tell me about the GBA Ambassador games' release for N.A.
plz
Finally another Gameboy color game! I never got to try this one.
Does the sequel have limited continues like the Nes original?
A Carmen Sandiego game for Wiiware! How have I not heard of this? I can't wait to here more about it.
I really hope they drop the Ambassador games today as well....I think that's how the NES ones went down....no warning, they just sort of appeared.
Yes, another Game Boy Color game!
GBC #2 cometh hither.
Hm. Can't say I've heard of Blaster Master actually....may be good though. Can't say since I haven't played it.
Kind of disappointed. I thought we was getting the original Wario Land.
Can't complain too much though with the 10 GBA games including Wario Land 4 coming out tomorrow.
@ Mr_Moore3506
I have to ask, What is this "TRILL" you keep saying?
Is that some modern slang I'm not hip to?
I'm not trying to get all up in your grill or whatever. Just curious.
I am still playing Pushmo! xP
LOL no ambassador games
Blaster Master nice one Nintendo! Now, where are our entitled GBA ambassador titles that the other regions are getting....? Please don't make me go Rage face
I'm game for Blaster Master!
Will someone plz wake vc up....
In Australia and Europe the GBA ambassador games are available right now. As for North America, we should be getting them later on in the afternoon.
Thanks for the info @Ce2lmao
Will try the Paint Splash demo. Would buy the game if I could figure out how to get another 300 points onto my Wii. Stuff like this really makes me wonder about the need for uDraw and it's ilk. Even moreso with the WiiU controller out next year.
And in case anybody somehow missed it - if none of these appeal to you don't forget there are free games to download from Club Nintendo this week. And more January 10th maybe. Free is better than pay.
there are three previews on the eShop too, One for the Samurai game, one for rolling western and one for kid icarus:uprising. They are under software so I wonder if they are demos. I'm downloading them now but I haven't tried them yet so I don't know if they are demos in fact.
EDIT: They are videos. But they all look pretty cool. Would have cooler if they were demos though

Let's start Operation Oldfall now.
@rjejr(19.): Personally i can draw with much more precision on a solid surface than i could with the Wiimote. I couldn't imagine playing a Zelda DS game on the Wii either because i wouldn't be able to precisely react so quickly.
@Link79:
i was curious/annoyed also, so I used the internet...from urban dictionary:
An adjective used in hip-hop culture to describe someone who is considered to be well respected, coming from a combination of the words "true" and "real".
That just leaves the mystery of the all-caps and quotes...Layton? Lautrec? Gumshoes?
@rjejr: second what battletoad is saying. I remember playing Okami on wii, and it was so improved, yet I couldn't draw/paint very easily with the wiimote. It somehow seamed easier on PS2.
The previews are;
-Sakara samurai Preview (now I'm interested because it looks like an rpg of sorts)
-Kid Icarus: Uprising Preview (the voice acting sounds much better on the system)
-Dillon's Rolling Western Preview (Nice new angle and some enemy variety, plus there is new music and other surprises)
It should be noted that all of these previews include fast forward and rewind buttons. Plus have nice 3D effects
I'll try the Paint demo. I wanted to get that. Now all I can try is just the demo.
Edit: The thumbnail screenshot for this article on the main page, looks like Super Mario Bros 2, out of the corner of my eye.
Holy heck it's Carmen Sandiego! I'm gonna catch you! >8C
@ MagicPegasus
Thanks for clearing up that Trill word for me. It was driving me nuts.
I guess it's like saying Tru Dat or something.
I feel so much hipper now.
Happy, happy, joy, joy! With 3DS' save state, I may actually be able to finish a Blaster Master game! I'm ready for some GBA on 3DS action, though! I am Ambassador with Diplomatic Immunity, where mai 3DS? Bring on the Mario vs. Donkey Kong!
@Ce2lmao Said who? I just got off the phone with them an hour ago and they knew NOTHING!
Carmen Sandiego for Wiiware?? I´ll wait the review but it is now in my list (please, get a 8 and i will dl it)
@22: How was Okami in any way shape or form improved on Wii? That was one of the worst and most painful gaming experiences I've ever endured. The graphics were actually downgraded from the PS2 game, and the controls were so broken it rendered the game unplayable. (That goes for combat as well as the painting.) This was precisely the kind of game made the haters, hate the Wii.
More on topic, I'm deffinatly gonna get Blaster Master.
@Mr_Moore3506
I know of Carmen Sandiego, I was just surprised that there is a new Carmen Sandiego game coming out that I haven't heard of.
The new game previews were a nice surprise, Please let Rolling western release soon.
@Wolfpacleader1986 Wait, so that means the Europians don't have the games yet? Ah ok well then get your facts straight before you post @Ce2lmao )
it's also worth mentioning you can download 3 Video game trailers from the eShop as well. After watching the trailer for "Dillon's Rolling Westward" I know this game will be a day one purchase for me.
Who else thought of mad max beyond the thunderdome when they saw the word blaster master?
Maybe Blaster Master and Elite Forces, but me is waiting for me Ambassador games!
I kinda want Elite Forces: unit 77 but I will wait on the review first.
No GBA games?
Bad move Nintendo.
Bad bad move.
People should remember that the NES games were released on a day that wasn't Thursday also. These could be coming anytime. I'm guessing at 1:30 AM EST like the first 3DS update.
Another week and once again nothing worth a damn for the Wii.
I'm really glad that we got Blaster Master this week. I never got to play it before but that changes now.
Sad to see the Wii getting neglected yet again but I am really looking forward to those GBA games. Hopefully they will show up soon!
its not friday yet so everyone chill
I'm not mad in any way that the GBA ambassador games haven't arrived yet. What ticks me off is that Europe and Japan have confirmation, while those of us In North America are still in the dark almost two days later. Kind of a dick move by NOA.
@FunkyMonkey That is really annoying, I would agree. It isn't like they can't contact Ambassadors. There was that certificate thing they had us download and then promptly forgot about...
Dangit, although this game looks decent I really don't want it. I was hoping we would have gotten the Ambassador games today like Australia, EU, and Japan, but I don't mind waiting another day. Not a terrible week, but not a good one. Everything seems kind of worthless except for that Master Blaster game. Kinda reminds me of "Math Blaster"
@FunkyMonkey and @Dodger
You would expect any less from the absolute imbeciles at NoA and frankly Nintendo as a whole? The treatment for NA gamers from the company this gen has been absolutely pathetic considering the support they've gotten from this market. But rather than send a message people just run out to buy the next rehashed installments of Zelda, Super Mario and Mario Kart. I'm just glad I woke up and finally saw the truth about this company after their disgusting refusal to bring Xenoblade (yes I know it's getting a limited release next year, too little, too late), The Last Story and Pandora's Tower over here. I'd like to think things will be different with Wii U, but the truth is I know it won't be so I hate to do it but for the first time ever I will be skipping one of their systems. I hope others do the same as it would maybe wake Nintendo up, but most people are just mindless drones who will eat whatever garbage their corporate mother Nintendo feeds them.
Are Mario Kart 7, Mario 3D Land and Skyward Sword really rehashes though? I'm enjoying both 3DS games and will be getting Skyward Sword soon. Of course, neither are perfect but they'll do for now.
Nothing I want, but it's good to hear there's a new WiiWare game (even if it's not great) and that there's a new GBC VC game!
@Bass_X0
Super Mario 3D Land and (especially) Mario Kart 7 felt like rehashes to me. Skyward Sword I'll be a bit less critical of because the motion controls force you to play the game in a new way but aside from the combat it's still same old, same old. Not saying any of these are bad games, what disgusts me is they're the only 3 good games the company released this year over here and they shouldn't be rewarded for delivering 3 good games in a span of 12 months. The way they're going about the Wii's final year is particularly annoying. If the system had sold like crap here I'd understand but the 37 mil+ units it sold in NA is the best this generation so why not show this region a little love?
