Re: The Creator Of BioShock Applauds Nintendo For "Setting Zelda On Fire"

Layn

I find this so weird, because to me Breath of the Wild just went back to the first game and decided to go a different route from there. It's the game's director looking back to what Miyamoto originally intended and designed and updating that with our current capabilities. And it's a route I feel the series flirted a lot with along the years and only avoided with its commitment to OoT's structuring.

Re: Sony Thinks You'll Buy A PlayStation 4 Alongside Your Nintendo Switch

Layn

I own all current consoles and for me it's more a PC to go with the Switch. If it's on console and it's not too graphically demanding, I'd love it on the switch due to flexibility on where I can play it. For everything else (and most shooters) I just prefer playing on a PC, because of more input choice and greater backward and forward compatibility, as well as being able to play on my laptop if I need to.

Re: Random: Nintendo Officially States Ganondorf's Last Name

Kinda makes me wonder who his parents are and what everything was like for them. Did they die? How? I'd imagine being the parents of the only male Gerudo for (what was it?) a 100 years, kinda makes you special. Did the Gerudo leaders take baby Ganondorf from them to be specifically raised as a leader? What happened?

Re: Poll: What Wii U Ports Would You Like to Play on Nintendo Switch?

Layn

Pokken, Tokyo Mirage and the Xenoblades for me. Mostly because I haven't bought those yet for Wii U even though I really want them.
ZombiU doesn't make a lot of sense to me without the second screen. It was mostly really neat because of the two screen feature.

If there's a Hyrule Warriors port, it should be a version of Legends. But I much rather would have a Hyrule Warriors 2 (and since I'm requesting sequels, how about a Bayonetta 3?)

Re: Aonuma Says That Open World Is Here to Stay in Zelda Games

Layn

I... I thought Zelda was always open world. They just did it pretty badly in the 3D home console Zeldas (except for Wind Waker).
Can we get a proper flying on a bird open world now? And maybe another sailing open world?

In any case, open world doesn't mean no dungeons. Zelda 1 had dungeons. A Link to the Past had dungeons. Love the shrines, but they need to be more themed, and we just need the deep thematic dungeoning from previous Zeldas. I loved this open world a lot and feel like most open world games have to take a very good look at it. However challenges need more themes than "sheikah tech" and be more... dungeony.

Re: Nintendo Fixes the Left Joy-Con Problem with a Small Piece of Foam

Layn

so, what, do i send in my 4 joycons now? and be out of controllers for i don't know how long?

... actually I wonder if it'd be okay to just drive over to Nintendo Europe HQ and wait there while they do this

Still I think I'll wait a bit and see if there's even better solutions at some point

Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories You Should Buy

Layn

Fast RMX or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? I want 1 racing game that I can jump into every once in a while. I own both with DLC on Wii U. Both have been tweaked for the new release and have some new content. MK8D is better to play with friends which is a huge +, while Fast RMX is cheaper.
I'm tending towards MK8D, but it kinda feels crappy to pay so much money again for a game I already have.

Re: Nintendo Switch Lacks A Web Browser Because It's A "Dedicated Video Game Platform"

Layn

So, how do you log in to hotel or public wifi? Kinda relevant to me currently as I just lived in a Hotel for a bit. (okay there's the "create a hotspot with your laptop" workaround, but that's definitely not the best).
Also I routinely used the wii U browser to stream stuff from my PC (although i've had other solutions lately), used it to quickly look up guides or anything else I needed without having to go grab some other device, and to order food when I've got lots of people together.

Most important though really is the public WiFi login
