Angry that Animal Crossing won't reach Europe until 2013 and North America until... well, who knows when? Watch this new Japanese trailer for the game and all your stress might just melt away or, perhaps, become more strongly amplified.
The video shows tonnes of new touches like solar panels to install outside, new shops and lots of new furniture and clothing options. Of course it's all in Japanese so we don't understand a word of it, but it's relaxing enough that we don't really care.
It's out in Japan this Fall, and reaches the western world in 2013.
Thanks to reader Daniel for the tip!

Why NOA, why?! It would have been so easy to say, "oh yeah, and Animal Crossing's coming out in America in the first half of 2013."
Nintendo, Japan isn't the only country that likes Animal Crossing.
Thank you James, the most diligent and dedicated games journalist in Europe! And to this Daniel guy.
Looks great.
I actually can't watch this, it just makes me want the game even more. We first saw this game two years ago... why don't we have it yet?
This looks like the major sequel we've been waiting for. Tons of new stuff in this game.
@Radixxs
Nice point:) I second that. Thanks James.
This game will be a definite eshop purchase for me. The game has infinite replay-ability. It's funny that the graphical style has hardly change in 15 years and it is still so endearing.
I loved the Wii Fit board =P I can't wait! Too bad I'm gonna have to... lol
I definitely hope this will also available as a download title. It's a great game but it needs to be played between games.
Glad you're enjoying the coverage guys!
Was that one of Tom Nook's nieces replacing him as the shop owner?
Nice
Bullhell. Why no mention of it in other regions? Grrr. Anger.
I am so happy you posted this! The fact that NOA didn't even bother to tell us in the USA when it would be available is really upsetting!! Not super happy with them right now. Not having an idea to when is MADDENING!!!
Well, not happy about the 2013 date...but...LOVE this video! Its great. I'll be rewatching it quiete a bit (and wishing I lived in Japan). lol.
SERIOUS WTF, why is that nintendo hates north america, eruope gets all the cool ii rpgs before us and it takes MONTHS before they release them in Na, europes gets all the VC stuff waaaaaayyyy before us, and now this. NINTENDO give us some bloddy love man.
Nice one Nintendo! Completely ignore the one game I've been waiting on for so long ._. Well at least I get to watch this, the game looks really nice. Only makes me want it more!
Would the little Animal Crossing characters please stand still!!! It's freaking me out!
I love the world rotation though.
The player from 1:40 to 1:50-ish reminds me of Luke from Professor Layton. I swear the hat looks exactly the same.
@EverybodyWhiningAboutTheReleaseDate
Shut up.
NoA and NoE can't just magically make make a game come sooner. it takes time to translate and localise it. Got it? Good. Now let's get back to enjoying the trailer.
Right - thats it. I'm going to learn Japaneese in the next few months. I've got enough free time...
@Morphtroid Good catch! He sure looked tinier than nasty ol' Nook.
@Tatsufox It wasn't always like this. There was a time when us europeans got everything last (well, dunno about Australia and Africa...). US games have only to be translated to English, but euro games have to be translated to German, French, etc.
I'm actually very surprised how Europe's got some Ninty love recently.
I just keep telling myself that it is worth the wait. Even though I don't speak Japanese (though I wish I did), there was enough information that I got from that video. AC is its own universal language.
Looks like Animal Crossing.
ah cool was worried this was cancelled happy to see it'l be out... some time... lol also that was Multi-player i saw wasn't it? yet another thing ONM ( Official Nintendo Magazine ) got wrong... they sed that it was 1p only... yet in the 1'st E3 trailer of it it blatantly showed 2/3 ppl running about... -_- im seriously considering cancelling my subscription to them
my bad it wasn't in the 1st E3 trailer i think it was in the later 1 that was released in the 3DS E-Shop
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh HYPE !!!!!!!!
2013? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
i cant wait for this game. all the new features and objects look sooooo amazing!
Some of the Animals are quite ugly hopefully some of my favourites like
-Rodeo
-T-Bone
-Apollo
-Wolfgang
-Lucky
make it into the game
The store of the AbleSisters doesen´t seem to have graphical improvements over the DS Version
The wait is on.
Oh Bliss!! I can't wait. I might have to buy a 3DSXL just to play this.
I just hope they don't do stupid things to the EU version like they did with Wild World - they substituted Saharah's Shoji Screen and Tatami Mat with a Dungeon Wall and Floor. Where was the logic in that for goodness sake! Why Nintendo.......?
I had to import a US version and migrate all my characters to the new cart, just to make a proper Japanese theme room, but region locking will prevent that with the 3DS.
Yes, I do know I'm crazy
@Mowzle I imported two US copies of Wild World. You certainly are not crazy (or possibly I'm twice as crazy...)
The shoe shine kid has his own store now! I really like how different the houses can look. Hopefully City Folk can tide me over while I wait for this
@James why do you need two copies? You really seem to like this game, crazy person!
...
...
...
orders 2 US copies
Nothing will ever beat the novelty and simplistic charm of Animal Crossing on the GC. While I can't say that I'm too excited about this, I'll give them credit where credit is due. It looks very pretty.
This looks amazing! I hope it comes out this year in North America or i might go out and order a japanese 3ds
I don't like the camera but with a minimap it should be fine.
@James #31That's a relief
Or maybe this time I'd have to import a US 3DS as well!
too cute for my taste
I've got two US copies of Wild World as well. Cannot wait for this.
Still looks even more like a fantastic game. Sigh.
man, this game looks great, i cant wait till it comes out.
I also have two copies of wild world... Not because I wanted to get two, though. A friend gave me his after he found it "too boring" lol
I was going to complain more about the delay but if more time is spent on it then its more likely to be worth the wait. I loved the trailer though and I wouldn't be surprised if this is the second best game on the 3DS. Being the best would be impossible with a masterpiece like Tales of the Abyss in that place.
That's so not freakin fair!!!! They didn't even mention it in North America!!! D: Come on now!!!!! D:<
I have Animal Crossing for the DS and DSi. The game on the DS and DSi is awsome. I can't wait until the one for the 3DS to come. We have to wait for a year. The trailer looked really cool. If you haven't seen it yet then you should chack it out.
@Mowzle @James Please... I got a copy for myself, then a spare/test town, then a copy for my mum, then dad, then sister, then bought a US copy just to use the Action Replay... I win...
This game is the BOMB!
Can't wait
Wii fit board FTW also loved the Japanese based room, can't wait to see what new Nintendo items they have, looks better then CF already
This trailer made me absolutely freak out. I was expecting something interesting from the trailer at first, but afterwards, I was dying of excitement. I desire to own this game even more now. x3
