Re: Poll: Splatoon 3 Is Now Available For Nintendo Switch, Are You Getting It?

Kayvoo

Seven years of squirt... Been playing since the first game & loving this new one. At first I was upset as Nintendo have plenty of neglected series' but it's justified. To anyone who feels as if there haven't been enough changes - Halo 3 to Reach, MW2 to MW3 etc.. Seems like a good comparison. Also, Splatoon 1 & 2 were a little threadbare at launch but much better after many updates. My issues are, still no bots or offline turf wars & I think they should've released with couch multiplayer & called it 'Splat screen'.

@Gamer_Zeus
Black Flag was great, Ubisoft 100% should have created a new IP with that game although they are sure to have diluted it by now with many sequels. Prince of Persia revival would be nice, Sands of Time remaster? Also, please stop releasing games that require more space to store than the console actually has built in! This is unethical unless there is a micro SD card in the box too!

Re: Random: Nintendo Kart Is Trending On Social Media, Following Claims Of Mario Kart 9 Being "In Active Development"

@Dezzy70
2021 was the first year since 1998 that I didn't purchase a single new Nintendo developed game. Aside from Wii U ports, where have the games been? I preferred Nintendo when they were pushing the medium forward with brave new experiences, success has sterilized them. I look forward to the end of the Switch's life cycle, they may have made a new game by then.

If the next game has a mission mode like on DS I'll be happy. I would love to see more of Nintendo's IP's represented too, E-Gadd, Birdo, Diddy Kong, Zelda etc. Smash Bros hasn't lost it's identity by despite including many non-Nintendo characters so Mariokart needn't lose it's identity. It would just become a richer experience with more appeal. If MK8 has no more content planned, MK9 has to be epic.

Re: Dead By Daylight To Lose Leatherface 'Survivor Mask' Cosmetic Following In-Game Harassment

Kayvoo

Why does Nintendo not allow game chat? Because we all know what the guy using black Yoshi will be called by someone. Did they change the game? No, they muted the people. Therefore it is the PEOPLE that need to change, unless the game is explicitly condoning and encouraging racism. Every game could be used to harass people, look at Fortnite/FIFA etc... In those games you are banned if you are abusive.

Re: Dead By Daylight To Lose Leatherface 'Survivor Mask' Cosmetic Following In-Game Harassment

Kayvoo

Altering the game to attempt to solve the issue is akin to painting everybody's face white or black so we're all the same, rather than offer real world consequences to perpetrators of hateful behaviour. It essentially feeds racists because they can see how their precious game has been 'ruined' due to political correctness. Better to ban the actual racists, it's hard to ruin people's fun from outside the game. Being a racist bully should be a lonely pursuit.

Re: Random: Pandemic Shooter's eShop Page Makes You Wonder If Anyone At Nintendo Checks These Things

Kayvoo

For what initially appears to be an asset flip, at least a modicum of effort has been made to make it amusing and unique in some way. I'd be very surprised if it's good but there's a chance... I don't believe there's anything dangerous in the eshop description, just a load of nonsense & buzz words. I would be more worried if my kid wanted to play fortnite to be honest.

Re: Dead By Daylight To Lose Leatherface 'Survivor Mask' Cosmetic Following In-Game Harassment

Kayvoo

If I hack or exploit a game's economy I get banned. If I repeatedly racially attack other players the game gets altered & I don't get banned. OK... Systems exist to protect game companies from financial damage, with the side effect of getting rid of hackers & improving the experience for everyone. Those same systems are fit for the purpose of banning online bullies and showing the consequences to them personally. Changing the game only stops one form of abuse, those same idiots are still in there with everyone.

Re: Konami Is Celebrating Castlevania's 35th With An NFT Auction

Kayvoo

Apparently Eminem recently purchased an NFT for $340,000. It's a digital picture of a bored monkey. A few lucky artists are making bank right now due to FOMO within the ranks of rich morons. NFT will hopefully become a meme of itself within a few months. Just like Konami.

Re: Poll: It's The Year Of Splatoon 3 - Are You Excited?

Kayvoo

@Unit_DTH
Agreed. Mariokart 8 sells like crazy because four people can play at the same time for hours on end. Splatoon 3 needs to have a robust local multiplayer suite to EVER break sales. I would have preferred DLC for Splatoon 2 and a new game for the next machine. Splatoon 2 should be THE Splatoon game for Switch encouraging sales for years to come, instead it will stop selling almost immediately when 3 releases. Daft.

Re: The Company Behind This High-End Switch Rival Thinks It Has Solved Analogue Stick Drift

Kayvoo

@BloodNinja
I have 5 original GameCube controllers - used for every Smash game since Melee - no drift after 20 plus years. Also two non-drifting Dreamcast controllers, decade old PS Vita & 3DS non-drifting analog inputs. Wii U gamepad stick drifted after 2 years, joy cons drifted after 1 year. Nintendo designs are no longer durable in general as they evolved from toys & are now desirable tech for adults. (Iwata would have acknowledged & solved the joy con drift issue)

Re: The Company Behind This High-End Switch Rival Thinks It Has Solved Analogue Stick Drift

Kayvoo

@BulkSlash
I recently serviced my N64 analog sticks and was highly impressed by the durability and accuracy of their optical sensors. The fact that they still functioned perfectly despite 25 years of abuse and through a ton of powdered joystick material is amazing. Shame they ate themselves so bad. With Hall effect sensors there's no friction but the magnetic force fades with time. No problem if the design allows for magnet replacement after 30 or so years.

Re: The Studio Behind Excite Truck And Excitebots Has Been Acquired By iRacing

@Einherjar
I know, their last few releases have been predatory, threadbare and awful. I have enjoyed their games for decades and love Dirt Rally so forgave them for one or two bad decisions but yeah you're right. EA must've liked the cut of their jib with all the DLCs. Uuuuggghhh Project Cars 3.... Dirt 5..... OK I take it back
