Re: Poll: The GameCube is 15 Years Old - Pick Your Favourite Games

Love the 'Cube. Lent mine to a friend in need a few years back, asked him how he was liking it, he'd sold it for £15! Thankfully I use my Wii for 'Cube games, I almost have a complete collection. A lot of those games put modern efforts to shame, notably Rogue Leader which is still by far the greatest Star Wars flying game on console after 15 years. Awesome to see so much love for Metroid Prime, too!

Re: Wii Street U Service Being Discontinued In March, Leaving eShop This Month

Absolutely gutted Like many others I use this to plan journeys and scope out potential holiday spots. Sometimes I just wonder around different countries, visit the dodgiest places and neighbourhoods that I'll never visit. I thought it was an elegant way to use google maps and I'm very disappointed it's going. Nintendo started shutting down services on Wii and look what happened with the Wii U launch shortly afterwards! Not happy, sort it out Ninty...

Re: Digital Foundry Gives a Thumbs Up to FAST Racing NEO

Nice article. I still regularly play F-zero GX which has a very low res on an HD TV. Doesn't bother me after the first 5 mins, art direction is the most important factor when working with limited resources and all the best Wii U games were built with a full understanding of this. A lot of Gamecube games haven't seemed to age at all due to this awareness and technically put most modern games' performance to shame. Remember F-zero on N64 ran at 60fps! In 1997! Credit to Shin'en, makes me wonder how 'AAA' developers use their resources...

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th October (Europe)

I have Octodad on another system and recommend it to anyone who enjoys unique, quirky physics based games. The writing and voice acting is better than expected and co-op play is a laugh. It can be frustrating when precision and speed is required though. It's great to see a game like this on Wii U, hopefully the port is a good one!

Re: Plight Of Syrian Refugees Highlighted Via The Medium Of Super Mario

Awesome, thank you NL! A very brave guy. My smiles were immediately dampened by the reality of this situation, a very clever way to convey the message without the limitations of language. Anyone with a shred of humanity can feel their pain as fellow humans, anyone who can cast their minds back 70 years or so can see parallels. Here in the UK, politicians will blame these defenceless peoples for problems caused by our own failings, whilst defending tax breaks for the largest companies and banker bonuses which are the true vampires of our society, draining and stockpiling our hard-earned money. But we all know this, right?

Re: GAME Processes Additional Charges on Super Mario Maker Pre-Orders

Sorry to hear that guys. I've gone from loyally supporting my local Game stores for around ten years to walking in, shaking my head at their prices and walking out again. Over £40 for used discs? I feel bad for their staff. I now use the Argos opposite or Sainsbury's for new stuff and I'm lucky enough to have a couple of independent games shops for used games. Hope it's sorted quickly for all affected.

Re: Obituary: Satoru Iwata

Iwata achieved so much in his short life and remained humble at all times. His passion was evident in his 'Directs', what other company president knows their games so well they would present them personally, in a foreign language? His charm and humility will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.

Re: Video: Footage Surfaces of Cancelled Wii Star Wars Title

Wow, I just read that the Rogue Squadron Trilogy for Wii was not only finished and ready for release, it was the best work the team had ever done! For me, that is the worst casualty of the 2008 money-vanishing-scheme. Perhaps if they'd not done Lair, financiers would've had more faith in a good product from the studio :'-(
