I sold my Switch! Prior to my Switch I had taken a 15 year break from gaming. Basically after year 1 of Gamecube til year 3 of Switch. My Switch got me thru the pandemic and a serious break up. Now I am ready for another break from games. Call me when Metroid Prime 4 releases (aka in 71 years).
I enjoyed the absurdity of this. To the people here that were deeply offended by an off-centre article, perhaps you need more joy in your life. Probably the same people that scoff at me when I buy a bottle of water.
@MannequinRaces it’s definitely made for the PC and there are a few control hiccups on the switch but it doesn’t affect the game for me. I love playing 20-30 mins on my commute.
I liked it. Doesn’t have the staying power that botw had over me. Its a great, well made and thought out game and certainly one of the best switch titles. I did my 50 hours. Beat it and have zero desire to return. Doesn’t quite breach my top 5 switch games list. 1) Botw 2) Astral Chain 3) Hades 4) Into the Breach 5) Factorio
I get it but until I finish the main story I like playing the game as it was intended. Even in BotW I never got too concerned with rupee farming. Some glitches are fun to try occasionally but sometimes they just ruin the game for me.
On the other hand I do enjoy watching videos of other players seeking out glitches.
Considering I only started it 4 days ago I still have a good 30-40 hours left and if my botw playtime is any indication, I will likely be playing totk for another 80 or so hours.
Totk is massive but I don’t see it challenging my most played game ever, Factorio at 195 hours followed by Shenzhen I/O at 145 hours then botw at 84 hours.
@MarioBrickLayer i did it this morning and have finally gotten into the cloud on the ship where the puzzle starts. The journey thus far is as you have described, this level design is masterclass. Nintendo has raised the bar to the highest it has ever been….its so incredibly well thought out…
I FINALLY started TotK 3 days ago and only about 8 hours in but it is magnificent. I will force myself to do a temple this weekend but I am also still glued to mastering Sifu and my usual daily match on Into the Breach.
Lately i have been craving an old favourite of mine on PC, Opus Magnum by Zachtronics though I would like to finish my first play through of TotK first.
@Manxman64 yes you are unfortunately correct. I had really been enjoying NMS for short plays every now and then and the update sounded so good but it has ruined the switch port completely.
Into the Breach is one of the best games I have bought on the Switch. A daily 5 minute chess match with mechs and kaiju. I rarely play more than 30 minutes at a time but I still play it nearly every day.
Skyrim is an incredible game that is very poorly executed technically. The sheer amount of bugs, glitches and crashes is mind boggling to be coming from such a high end studio. Maybe it’s just the sheer amount of content but man it is a bug-fest. Regardless i have over 200:hours in it so clearly it hasn’t stopped me.

@rushiosan oh my the PC principal has arrived in full effect. It’s a fictional video game. You don’t have to play it.

Re: Top 100 Best Nintendo Games Of All Time
My top 5 (very casual gamer and lists are very subjective and for some reason people get offended by them but here goes anyway)
1) BotW
2) Astral Chain
3) Metroid Dread
4) Metroid Prime Remastered
5) Tears of the Kingdom
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 8th)
Factorio every free moment I get whilst revisiting the incredible Shenzhen I/O on my laptop.
Its the best “game” I have played since building alchemical computers in Opus Magnum 3 years ago.
Please Zachtronics, port your library to Switch so I can play on the toilet.

Such an underrated game. A challenge and extremely intuitive controls. A beat-em up that actually requires skill.

I will definitely buy it. I still love metroidvanias. Blasphemous 2 coming soon, too.
