Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Is Getting A Gorgeous New Art Book

Godzil

@trajan & @mazzel

I don't know for the US, but in Europe we had the book that came with the original Xenoblade, and there were tons of text (as for the Zelda Art book for example) so yeah you will get the images, but unless you are fluent in Japanese, you will miss all the backstory

@Moroboshi876
If you ever used Steam of Gog Galaxy, it work exactly the same, or close to.

As I don't have a second switch it is hard to tell, but basically, I think the backup is mainly done when you exit the game (or when the save file is updated)

@DarthFoxMcCloud: that is somewhat of my undertanding too. I mean, splatnet knows everything about your account, allow you to order thing etc..

Re: Video: Nintendo Switch Online Cloud Saves Offer Peace of Mind, But It’s Not Quite There Yet

@Moroboshi876 The cloud is just a backup of your local save.

You play, the game save localy, and at some point the console will upload the save file to the cloud (when exactly I'm not sure) but that does not change at all how games are working.

All the games are by default conpatible with NO CHANGE in the game as, in fact it does not change how the game is saving.

This is only the console OS that do it, it is not linked with what the game is going.
Your save are still IN the console, available when being online AND offline. The backup will be done as soon as the console is online.

Re: Breath Of The Wild Has Been Added To The Zelda Series Timeline, But There's A Catch

Godzil

It was clear from the very beginning that BoTW was going to reunite all of theses branches non sense. BoTW have references on basically all the game in the franchise, from all different branches.

To be honest if they were to make a new Zelda, that's one relating the event 10000 year prior BoTW that I would love to hear about.
How the beast was created, how the kingdom was etc...

Or a Zelda game that is not happening in the Hyrule kingdom, but as we clearly see in BoTW, there are land around Hyrule. Who live there? What are they doing? Why they are not helping or being attacked by Ganon? Why they are not attacking Hyrule for processing the Triforce?

BoTW leave so many interesting question open, and I'm sure they will never be answered!

Re: Nintendo Is Banning Switch Game Cards To Combat Piracy, Potentially Killing The Second-Hand Market

Godzil

Well it is up to the buyer to check that the card it not banned and refuse to buy if it is.

And if it is via stores or ebay or equivalent, there is always a way to complain.

I think that people who buy the game, dump it then sell it are probably quite stupid, because that leave traces and will allow to go back to them, so, I don't think it is going to happen soon, unless the dumper is pretty stupid.

Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Online FAQ - Everything We Know So Far

Godzil

@Baldspur Well if you forget about doing thing in a legal way. If you don't own the game, you legally don't have the right to use any of these on a "retro box"

@LuckyLand
> I remember backing up my saves on Wii

Well, with a normal Wii without any mods, that is not possible. The saves does not exit the Wii (or WiiU) either.
