What a joke.... If these people actually went and did any real exercise they would get fit much faster and it would be much better than this. I mean this is good maybe for a really old person or somebody that is disabled and can't do real exercise or even as a bonus lil work out on top of real exercise(on your off day not doing your regular routine).
Nintendo just uses this gimmick to gain customers and the sad thing is that think they are really exercising. This is in no way enough to get a person in shape. The only people that lost weight using this are people that drastically changed their diet and then played this too, so in reality it was the food change, not even the game, but whatever, let nintendo use more gimmicks... its all they do nowadays.
Nintendo has a disadvantage you mean. You have to use the gamepad that they don't even sell apart from the console.
Everybody already has a tablet or smartphone, so they can use what they already own on the other consoles. Its a huge advantage. Also the phone or tablet is a much more powerful machine with better resolution than the Wii U gamepad
For the Vita and PS4 link that is additional money, but its also much more powerful than the gamepad and I bet the gamepad will cost at least $100 if you want a 2nd one.
And BTW the games in that one bundle alone beat the whole wii U catalog of games in a year that ive had the Wii U...........
Its sad how far they have to reach to pretend Nintendo made actual news with anything. Yes the zelda game is nice, but its an old game, a remake.... why is a "next-gen" console wasting its head start making remakes and releasing NES games as "BIG NEWS!!!" ???
This company is so out of whack. They had all this time to get ahead of Sony and Microsoft and they did nothing with it. Now once those real next-gen consoles are out, look on ebay and amazon, and 30-40% ofthe Wii Us will be put on there within 1 year of those machines being out as people realize how much better those companies are at satisfying their consumers.
Devs know that mostly little kids play on Nintendo consoles, kids don't mind no online play. They have other children that come over to their house after school for multiplayer kid games.
Adults and serious gamers prefer online as they work or go to college or do both or have families and don't have many people come over the house and have limited times when they can game. So, they need online multiplayer so they can find people to play with at anytime.
Nintendo already has proven the Wii U is a kids machine and also a machine for family and another gimmick machine that will advertise itself as an exercise machine again, etc. Devs see it and will always either skip the console altogether or give it a watered down version.
PS4 and Xbox 1 might sell a ton, Nintendo, not so much.
Also, Steam is making their own console now, steam machines and it runs on their own operating system using linux and everything. many huge publishers are signed up to support it already and that means lots of exclusive stuff.
Nintendo is going to be last of the 4 consoles I mentioned.... so why do they put this news on here as if the consoles they are talking about are Nintendo... its not selling anything.
Umm if I wanted to play wii games I would have still been on my Wii that i sold years ago.
All Nintendo does is add things to make you buy old junk of theirs, suckers people to buy games they already bought 5 times on every other nintendo system. Everytime you see news its about a handheld system or about buying old mario, old zelda, old wii gamnes, olf n64 games and other classic games over and over again.
Add next gen features for your supposed next gen , new console maybe Nintendo? The people that applaud this kind of action are the reason nintendo has fallen way behind.
BTW the browser still sucks. Any other console or even my phone and or tablet can connect to my TV through HDMI and play videos from any website while this still does not support the majority of sites out there. PDF support? who will be using their WII u to read instruction manuals and that kind of thing which is what PDf are mainly used for? It needs more support for streaming video from where we want and making it at least as useful as a phone browser maybe?
I already buy every indie game on steam and not on Wii U, why? Steam indie games are sold for 25 cents-$1 for the same game that is $10 or more on Wii U. Why else? The PC versions come with more feautures, more support and now with Steam family share, you can even share all of your steam games with another person that you authorize, they can be on another pc or even another house as long as you authorize their account to play it, they can without paying even 1 cent.
Now this steam machine will make it even worse for nintendo. The machines will be more powerful, be able to do much more as far as media playing, more online capabilities and also it will have support from all companies, all 3rd parties, etc.
This generation will see Nintendo on the bottom under Sony, Microsoft and Valve IMO. The saving grace for Nintendo are children, and 1st party titles.
nintendos chance to get back its most loyal customers of the Wii, overweight women, old people and family......
Wii was a family machine and sold a ton due to this game and wii sports, they got kids and their parents and grandparents to "exercise" in front of a Tv and actually think they were losing weight.....
Nintendo has abandoned gamers and is aiming everything at kids/family now.
@LDXD Keep buying 20 year old games for $5-15 hahahaha. Also buy these re-makes..... $50 for old crap because they can't make games for the new console.... "new and improved my butt.... its the same old crap with tiny improvement"
When you buy a new console, you want NEXT GEN TITLES!!! Not old, tired games that they already released on Wii, handhelds and every other machine in the last 20 years.
If the Wii U had actual good Wii U games that we want, then this would be fine. But they are trying to feed hungry gamers this trash because they know you are dying to have anything to play on the dust collector that Wii U is.....
This year that passed us just now, there was no new "next gen" console, Wii U had all console gamers to themselves. many bored gamers bought the Wii U hoping it could compete with the big boys this time since Nintendo promised us a console for "gamers and hardcore gamers" as well as casuals. However, they failed to give us the games we wanted or pretty much any games at all to show us this console is next gen or has a good future.
Now in the next year everyone that is out to get a new console for the most part will choose PS4 or Xbox1. For the price you get much more power, much more content, higher quality online experience, and a ton more games from every genre.
I am sorry, I just don't think Wii u will sell better this year than last.
@N64ever Well this years madden has an entire new engine, really advanced AI and animations, advanced physics for collisions and a bunch of new stuff like that.
So what you are saying is not true at all for this years edition. Also, the game adds new players and player ratings each year, I guess you don't realize players change teams and that rookies enter the league and old players leave it?
Some years there are not enough upgrades to make everybody want to get it, but this year is a major release with tons of new stuff.
The Wii U not having any sports games for any of the major sports is a HUGGEEE!!!! Mistake as that is a big % of console gamers right there. Sports is one of the few genres where console is still better than PC. So that is the reason many buy a console just for sports games. Nintendo are morons for not understanding that and will pay big time.
I think thats a very low number for the big deal Miyamoto tried to make about this game acting like it was a major, console selling type release.
However, it is a decent number compared to many games on Wii U, not many have sold as well. First, there aren't that many consoles sold and second, there aren't many people really using their Wii U anyway(most are collecting dust).
I have not turned my Wii U on in over a month.... I need to try something on it already, its just sitting there and makes me mad each time I look at it.
Theres not 1 game on it that can pull me away from things like Final Fantasy XIV: ARR, CS: GO, Hearthstone, Elder Scrolls Online, DOTA 2, and the other games that have me busy.
Now my PS4 is almost ready to go, so I'm wondering what will Wii u ever have to make me want to play it again........ can't wait for Mario kart, zelda, new mario and things that will actually excite me and make the console useful.
I have not seen a teenager or adult using a Nintendo handheld in years in my city. Maybe at home they have one or a few really nerdy people might have them in college.
However, the majority and I mean 90%+ of gamers that game on the go use a phone or tablet.
nintendo is putting way too much time into handhelds that will soon be obsolete and they are ignoring their console business and will fall way behind sony and microsoft.....
@Subie98 Yes you are in the minority. Most people like one of the main sports at least that live in USA/Europe. Nintendo offers nothing for all of those gamers that enjoy sports.
They also are lacking in many other genres. My point is, they are focusing the majority of their resources on games for people 12 and under. This is a huge mistake when the average games is over 25 years old.
I guess they know they have a lot of kids as fans though and are trying to keep them as they are losing most of the adults with each passing generation of consoles because they make so few games fro them.
PS4 alone has Madden & NBA games at launch(not sure about soccer/futbol but nintendo also lacks this), Nintendo has none. Yea I know the non sports gamers dont care, but in the USA and Europe and everywhere else people love sports.
To me alone, it is a huge deal. Sports games on these next gen machines will be using all new realistic engines and be the best sports games ever and Nintendo is just skipping that, lose millions and millions of customers just in this genre alone.
Oh yea sports gamers are also mostly played by adults, maybe that is why Nintendo doesn't care? They are busy making the next skylanders, smurfs and lego game for children.......
@SanderEvers Is this 1982 where we have 1 KB of memory? Nintendo seriously releases things that make no sense for the generation of games they are in. Save 12 pictures? WTF do we have a HDD on this console for LMAO.....
@Sceptic These people for the most part live in a closed room with blinders on. They praise Nintendo for giving them hings that are free on any other platform. The indie games that come out on Wii U are 25 cents and $1-5 on pc or other consoles but on Wii-U they say "thank you nintendo, ony $14.99!!"
This drawing "game" or "app" is much more limited and basic that anything you can get even on your phone for free from any app store.
LOL how stupid...... This makes no sense at all. You know how many companies make products from that area and they still sell well, this is another lame excuse by nintendo.
PS3 struggled some to start out because within the same year, Xbox 360 and Wii came out and PS3 was most expensive(it was a very high price for those days).
Wii-U is out this year alone and at a cheap price, a full year alone and can't beat the past generation in sales. Not even close to a comparison of the PS3 situation.
This game is not even selling well in Japan. Sales dropped bigtime, so by word of mouth not many people are recommending it to friends.
I'm dying for a good game on Wii-U, but this game has never interested me in the past... Nintendo is hyping it up but no point to buy something I'm not interested in even if its all there is...
Steam games will tide me over til something better(have plenty of those and can get 20+ games for the price of pikmin 3 alone). Look at this for $6, http://www.indiegala.com/ a buncha of awesome top down shooters in there and other nice stuff.
PS3 has 5 games on that chart (Wii+WiiU has just 3 combined)and the PS3 only 4k hardware shy of the new "next gen" wii U....remember PS3 is how many years old? Pretty much everyone has one already.
PS4 is going to blow the Wii U away in Japan and even worse in EU and USA.
Nintendo only has a future in handhelds this generation, the Wii U is already dead compared to what PS4 and Xbox 1 will sell(Wii U will beat Xbox1 in japan i think, thats all). I have my Wii U and will get the 1st party stuff, but its a huge disappointment.
I don't know just thought you meant you have to settle for a game on Wii-U because you had no other choice. What I wanted to make a point about is the following,
Most gamers(people that play seriously as a main hobby) will have at least 2 of these: a PC, Wii-U, PS4/XBOX1
My point is that only 3% would play any ubisoft game on a Wii U if they can have it on any of the other 3 choices. Wii U is going to have the worst graphics, worst support, worst online features, etc.
So to go along with the article, if its only 3% now, imagine how low their cut will be from Wii U once the other 2 next gen machines are out. Wii U can barely compete with PS3 and 360 right now.
Nintendo will live or die by 1st party releases on Wii U.
@Owlynator Most gamers have a PC and/or other consoles along with a Nintendo console.
So, you on the other hand with a crappy PC that can't play games have to get games on the only option you have Wi-U. IMO, only about 3% of total gamers are in your situation, those are the 3% that bought UBIsoft games on the Wii_u instead of other machines... understand now ? lol.
@Owlynator You are the kind of person Nintendo relies on. Those that are not hardcore gamers and have moms $200 DELL PC and no other console. You are the 3% congrats!
These prices are a joke all of them. Only people that have just Nintendo consoles would be dumb enough to buy more than 1 or 2 of them.
Nintendo needs to look at Steam which gives us new games for less than these 20yr old VC games and always has sales of 75% off and more many times per year for even the best games. Look at Sony giving away free games with PS+ and even XBOX live giving people free games.
Yes you pay $5 a month for those 2 consoles, but Nintendo charges you more than $5 each month for these old games so you are using the money anyway and getting much less in return. WAKE UP NINTENDO, if not then you will only have the same old fans and even lose many of them very soon.
@yojo No FFVII was on sale for $8.00 2 days ago(steam summer sale was on the last whole week) and like I said Steam lets you earn money just by playing its games or even afking them overnight, so I got it free. Also its way better than earthbound. In addition, this is a new steam edition FFVII with cloud saves and achievements. Can't say no to that for free.
I agree Earthbound is nice, I am just sick of Nintendo churning out games that are 20 years old on a brand new system and charging $10 and $15 for them as if its something new. I bought a few of them, but did you buy a Wii- U just to play these old games? I sure didn't
I'm not saying you guys shouldn't buy it, but I just wont for this price. Have too many games I just got on steam that are better and were cheaper.
@ljinkakidd @yojo Most people have already found a way to play this game in the past 20 years, if not then its a nice game for people new to it, but I've played it already.
I picked up FFVII on steam this week for free and it is better than earthbound. How is it free? Well Steam has something called playing cards now, when you play any game, cards drop that you can trade or sell on the steam market. I sold a bunch of them at it added up to $10 made in 3 hours while I was out at the mall.
This is why I'm saying, Nintendo is charging too much, You can get old games cheaper everywhere else. People stuck on Nintendo consoles don't realize it I guess. I play on PC, Nintendo consoles and always get a Sony console as well.
@Relias I spent $55 so far on steam stuff this week.... Its not that I am cheap, I am saying Earthbound was a great game 20 years ago. But, now it is OLD!!! and not a good value if you have a PC and also not a good game compared to other games you can buy in the same genre on PC for the same price.
If you never played it before, then maybe it is worth it, but I played it, its been around forever, so to me, I'm not getting it.
I bought Star Wars pinball on Wii U recently and donkey kong(because its on sale). I buy stuff on Wii U. I just don't become a sucker and buy everything Nintendo shoots out with fake hype behind it.
Nintendo has people brainwashed. They are giving you old games and charging you more than new, better games.
This game is a classic, but nowadays there are tons of indie RPGS that are just as good and even better.
It was a 9/10 when it came out in 1995, if it was compared to the new 2D old-school indie RPGs of today itd be more like 6/10 in the middle of the pack.
Its for sure the best on Wii U since there are no real RPGs on it yet, so its a must buy if all you have is Wii U and want a game of this genre, otherwise, its overpriced compared to ones you can get on PC that are better. Steam Summer Sale is on right now BTW.
@ACK Theres nothing really wrong except that half of the games Nintendo has released are games for 5-12 year olds. Its fine for them, but for me its just more news about stuff I am not interested in.
The average gamer is 25+ years old. They said this time they were making a console for gamers, not children. Wii was a console for children and exercising overweight women/families. They promised this would not be that way.
So, yea this game is nice for kids/family, but I'm kinda sick of every game being that way.
This game looks terrible... something my 5 year old nephew might like, plus you have to buy figurine toys hahahahahhahahaha.
A real pokemon mmorpg woulda been a hit, too bad nintendo is busy making this kind of thing, just terrible. But suckers will buy it and pay hundreds to play a 5 year olds game.... no wonder Nintendo can't advance they have people supporting this kind of thing.

Re: Nintendo Comes Up Empty at the Golden Joystick Awards
Nintendo should get used to this, now the real next gen consoles will be out soon and win every award.
Miyamoto I think finally has allowed time to pass him over..... total failure with the Wii U 1 year headstart.
Re: Feature: Active Gaming is Here To Stay And is Helping People Get Fit
What a joke.... If these people actually went and did any real exercise they would get fit much faster and it would be much better than this. This game is just an HD remake of a zelda game that is not even a classic in the series..... 9/10.. yea ok hahahahha.

The Wii U needs new, next gen games, new stuff, not all this re-made crap.

This drawing "game" or "app" is much more limited and basic that anything you can get even on your phone for free from any app store.
Re: Senran Kagura Burst Confirmed For North American 3DS eShop
I got the 1st 3 exceed games + over 10 more games all for $7
http://www.indiegala.com/ look in there to get them all cheap.
Re: SEGA Is Hoping To Win Back Platforming Fans With Sonic Lost World
I've played a ton of indie platformers this past year, for Sonic to beat those, it will take a miracle IMO.
Try Giana sisters or Dust: Elysian tail. Look at the details and art, animation, innovative gameplay. Nintendo hopefully can do it, but won't be easy.
Giana sisters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxXN5JNQlKM
Dust: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taRJkbnEgK4
BTW, I got Giana free as a gift from a random person on steam and Dust cost me $5 on steam.
So yea for $60 Nintendo show me what you can do I guess.....
Re: Pikmin 3 Makes UK Chart Debut in Second Place
I'm not buying it. It look really nice, but its not my style of game for that price.
Games for me have to have some kind of online mode or something more to work towards for me to pay $60.
Should be a nice one for those that like this series, I know I'm dying for a good game on Wii U... just this isn't it for me.
Re: Nintendo Blames 2011 Tohoku Earthquake For Sluggish Wii U Performance
LOL how stupid...... This makes no sense at all. You know how many companies make products from that area and they still sell well, this is another lame excuse by nintendo.
Any fool that believes this is just that.
Re: SpongeBob SquarePants: Plankton's Robotic Revenge Confirmed For Wii U, Wii, 3DS And DS
Nintendo another high five!!!
Re: Wii U Finally Hits One Million Sales in Japan
@Assassinated IDK but I know the 360 sold 78 million units worldwide which beats every console nintendo has ever made except the wii 99 million.
Japanese buy pillows as girlfriends and about 25% of men age 30-34 are virgins, so I could care less what they like, means nothing to people on my side of the world. http://www.uber-facts.com/2012/11/14-of-japanese-men-ages-30-to-34-are-still-virgins/
Re: Masahiro Sakurai Rules Out Story Sequences For Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS
The people they have working on WIi U and its games seem to be lost in time and so behind the times of every other console and PC.
Every game is either missing DLC, online play or something major. Ohh Look this one will have no story mode or cutscenes, etc.
BY the time this game comes out, I'll have my PS4 and real fighting games anyway
Re: Video: Here's Some Pikmin 3 Direct Feed Footage To Tide You Over
This game is not even selling well in Japan.
Re: Mario & Luigi Has a Dreamy Japanese Chart Debut, Wii U Hardware Sales Drop by a Third
@dumedum
Re: Just 3% of All Ubisoft's Sales Came From Wii U in Q2 2013
@Owlynator
Re: Just 3% of All Ubisoft's Sales Came From Wii U in Q2 2013
@Owlynator Most gamers have a PC and/or other consoles along with a Nintendo console.
So, you on the other hand with a crappy PC that can't play games have to get games on the only option you have Wi-U. IMO, only about 3% of total gamers are in your situation, those are the 3% that bought UBIsoft games on the Wii_u instead of other machines... understand now ? lol.
Re: Just 3% of All Ubisoft's Sales Came From Wii U in Q2 2013
@Owlynator You are the kind of person Nintendo relies on. Those that are not hardcore gamers and have moms $200 DELL PC and no other console. You are the 3% congrats!
Re: Just 3% of All Ubisoft's Sales Came From Wii U in Q2 2013
I won't be buying any future games from Ubisoft on Wii-U.
These games are better on PC and then PS4 will be better by far once its out for their games.
Re: Nintendo Comments On EarthBound's Inflated Pricing
Re: Ben 10: Omniverse 2 Coming Later This Year on Wii U, Wii And 3DS
And yet another game for children. Kids game console the Nintendo Wii-U!!!!
Re: Phineas And Ferb: Quest for Cool Stuff Begins on 13th August
More little kid games.......
Re: Review: EarthBound (Wii U eShop)
Re: Review: EarthBound (Wii U eShop)
Re: Review: EarthBound (Wii U eShop)
Re: Review: EarthBound (Wii U eShop)
This game is a classic, but nowadays there are tons of indie RPGS that are just as good and even better.
It was a 9/10 when it came out in 1995, if it was compared to the new 2D old-school indie RPGs of today itd be more like 6/10 in the middle of the pack.
Its for sure the best on Wii U since there are no real RPGs on it yet, so its a must buy if all you have is Wii U and want a game of this genre, otherwise, its overpriced compared to ones you can get on PC that are better. Steam Summer Sale is on right now BTW.
Re: Pokémon Rumble U Gets Into a Dust-Up With the Wii U eShop on 15th August
@ACK Theres nothing really wrong except that half of the games Nintendo has released are games for 5-12 year olds. Its fine for them, but for me its just more news about stuff I am not interested in.
The average gamer is 25+ years old. They said this time they were making a console for gamers, not children. Wii was a console for children and exercising overweight women/families. They promised this would not be that way.
So, yea this game is nice for kids/family, but I'm kinda sick of every game being that way.
Re: Pokémon Rumble U Gets Into a Dust-Up With the Wii U eShop on 15th August
This game looks terrible... something my 5 year old nephew might like, plus you have to buy figurine toys hahahahahhahahaha.
A real pokemon mmorpg woulda been a hit, too bad nintendo is busy making this kind of thing, just terrible. But suckers will buy it and pay hundreds to play a 5 year olds game.... no wonder Nintendo can't advance they have people supporting this kind of thing.
