@Jukilum Um Skylanders is for little kids..... You can say you are an adult that plays it, that's fine, but it is meant for children. Activision makes the game and calls it a kids franchise. Here is one example:
Activision Exec on 'Skylanders' $500 Million Hit Kids' Franchise (Q&A)
"Activision Publishing has focused on the lucrative children's market over the past two years with a hybrid toy and video game that has captivated the market."
Sony won E3 by a landslide, instantly tons of online retailers sold out of PS4 pre-orders(they have since re-stocked at many).
Nintendo/Xbox 1 both came out so-so. Xbox 1 has a bad rep to start out but also was the #1 most wanted item on Amazon before PS4 was announced. So, it was well ahead of Wii U as a wanted item.
Wii U announced some good stuff and hopefully got some new people buying the console.
@Araknie Its funny you calling people that play a certain game a 6 year old? If you don't like a game its fine, but many adults do like it as well as kids and teens im sure.
I mean Nintendo is the one that releases a ton of games really aimed at 12 and under, how can you use age to try to insult something and then defend nintendo in the same sentence?
I don't think they should waste resources to put this game out no WIi U. The PS4, PC and XBox1 versions will all look better and have way more people playing them.
Wii U players have made it clear so far they only support games for 13 and younger crowd or 1st party titles other than that.
@DaemonSword People that feel they have to be "loyal" to 1 console just miss out on a lot of great games. Sucks for you and all those that think Nintendo cares about you lol. You aren't loyal, you are childish thinking the 1 thing you have is best and that you are in a battle against others....
Real Gamers go where games are at. I play on PC, Nintendo, Android, soon to be PS4, have played on 360, wii, PS3, PS2, PS1, xbox, N64, Gamecube, SNES, NES, Genesis, Atari and so on......
While you sit and wait for games on Wii U, you miss out on hundreds of hours of awesome gameplay from games on other systems. I love Nintendo, but they also lack variety and pretty much only focus on a couple genres of games.
Wii U won't die or anything(this article says stick a fork in, that's dumb), but they will end up far behind Sony this time and lose a lot of customers to Sony. Not sure who will win 2nd Nintendo or Microsoft.
I can see some people staying with only a Wii U, but that means they are only fans of platform games and mostly childish games. Anybody that enjoys sports games, fighting games, RPGs, MMORPGs, FPS, will most likely need a 2nd console/PC.
For me I use PC for FPS, MOBAs and most MMORPGs and that kind of thing, steam is awesome. For sports games I will use PS4(also their 1st party and many JRPGs) and Wii U will be for 1st partying Nintendo. Also Sony will have FFXIV which I have on PC now, but wil get on there too as well as other F2P MMOs on there like planetside 2 and DC universe might be fun.
I already pre-ordered a PS4, actually 3 of them. 2 to sell and one for myself because of my disappointment in Nintendo, so this guy is right.
Originally I planned only to get a Wii U, but I barely turn it on and when I do its for pinball and virtual console games once a week at most.
PS4 is cheap, way more powerful, has way more good games when you count 1st and 3rd party and seems like they are headed in the right direction, while Nintendo is lost at sea.
@ikki5 The games that have come out so far on Wii U are all disappointing pretty much.
You call other consoles gimmicks? Nintendo sold the Wii advertising it as an exercise machine for old women hahaha. Now they are using a 2nd screen this time as a gimmick.
Battlefield 4 you haven't read anything about it I guess... It has added tons of new features, maps, way better graphics, better gameplay and ways to play with others. Much more changes than Mario or any Nintendo game adds each time they make the same game on a new console.
I am a Nintendo fan, but I also am a Gamer and play on many platforms and do not think you know what you are talking about, you seem to be defending Nintendo with no facts and sending insults to the other companies without even reading anything about them.
I love Nintendo games like Mario, mario kart, metroid, zelda, but they are stagnant right now. They make the same old series and really they aren't even changing much, this last mario is pretty much the same as Super mario world from 20+ years ago in HD. Mario Kart 8 also looks like same old thing, just in HD.
Nintendo has been innovative in hardware with motion control and 2nd screen, but their games are not. Same old games every system. We love them, but would be nice to have something new too.
Why can't Nintendo make a new game like Pokemon MMORPG on Wii U(people wanted this for over 10 years). Why can't they make a fighting game using all Nintendo characters?
Where is the Sports game at using all Nintendo characters for like basketball, football, etc? Since they don't get any sports games from EA?
Where is a new Super Mario RPG? They just seem to be stuck making the same 4-5 series in the same old genres too.
I pre-ordered the PS4 already and I didn't plan to, but Nintendo forced my hand. PS4 seems to have all the games in every genre and also has 2nd screen, motion control if I want it and everything else.
So, I will look forward to the same few Nintendo games as usual, but overall I am very disappointed in this console so far with very few things coming out soon that interest me.
Gamers don't have to worry anyway, they will own 2 or even 3 of the consoles plus a PC.
I feel bad for people that have to choose 1 console or 1 platform only lol.
Sitting here defending the 1 machine you bought sounds like a lil kid that got told by his mom he is the best at everything and then doesn't know how to handle the world when he is an adult and has to face the fact that other people/things are better.
The article is saying that other consoles also have 2nd screens but not only that, they also beefed up their insides to handle modern graphics and lined up a ton of 3rd party games along with their own 1st party games and did many things to ensure a long life again for their console.
Nintendo Wii U so far seems to be hoping the 2nd screen "gimmick" is enough to win over fans and so far with the poor sales it has not. Same as motion control wore off after a lil while once the other consoles got it. In the end you need good games, lots of them and a variety of genres of games for a wide audience of all ages.
@Davidiam007 Wii U already has a bunch of bad ports on it, so whats your point? I think Madden, Battlefield 4, The Sims, Need for Speed, FIFA Soccer, and many of the games EA puits out would be better than most of the Wii U games so far.
I love Nintendo 1st party games, its the only reason I have a Wii U, but still, I think they are just killing themselves with all these developers saying "no" to them.
I will be getting EA games on my PS4 anyway, so now I could care less if they come out on Wii U.
EA is an annoying company, but I still enjoy some of their games, so its like you can't live with them, can't live without them when you like sports games.
I don't even play my Wii U once a week, so how does he know if we are enjoying our console? My GF hasn't played it in over a month and my friend that has one also never turns it on.
There are no games that can pull us away from PC games that we have been playing instead. Wii U so far is a huge disappointment. They need to release a lot of good games before the others launch or they will be left behind.
Its the truth. The other consoles will allow us to use our smartphone and tablets as the 2nd and even 3rd screens. We don't have to spend extra money on them and they are more advanced than a gamepad also.
IN Sony's case they also have a Vita which can serve as another screen along with a phone/tablet. The Vits though can play your PS4 games on the go outside your house and is the cost of a gamepad but is also a full console(handheld).
Nintendo didn't think this out.... They should have used our tablets and phones. Nobody with a brain is going to buy additional gamepads at over $100, sorry.
This game is like 1 year away..... It needed to be released along with a few other 1st party heavy hitters before the other consoles to build up support for Wii U and make people have to think about what console to get for Xmas.
How it is now, only kids will want a Wii U for Xmas, the vast majority of gamers will chose from the other 2.
The game looks pretty good. Same old Mario Kart with a few twists to it and a little improvement in graphics.
@Mahe Wii fit and wii party are games for family/women/children.
True gamers like to play RPGs, fighting games, platformers, puzzle games, FPS, sports, etc. Actual games, not gimmicks to get grandma to play air hocky vs her grandson on the controller or something to let a fat girl "exercise."
Mario kart, Zelda, Mario games, Metroid, etc. Those are gamers games by Nintendo. Those I support, but there are not enough of them so far. Just a lot of crappy ports, bad games and gimmicks.
@ULTRA-64 Uh Sony releases all the Japanese RPGs, they had metal gear/tenchu and iontroduced gamers to stealth genre, gran turismo was innovation in racing games(tru realism), and so many other games/series that people love, they are not a FPS 1st community, that is the xbox....
No innovation? They invented the damn CD, walkman, 1st console to use discs(which made them destroy the N64 in sales) and almost any modern thing in our living rooms, Sony invented it or were one of the pioneers hahahahah.
The PS4 console has everything Wii U has. Motion controls, 2nd screen, camera, and even more. You will be able to stream your games live to the internet, has much more power to make much better looking and smooth playing games with bigger worlds.
Then they have the Vita that lets you really play your PS4 games from anywhere, not just limited to in your house how the Wii U controller 2nd screen has it.
I love Nintendo, also support Sony. I am no fanboy of any company, I talk the truth about each one. You seem to have your facts all messed up about Sony.
@AyeHaley @k8sMum My point was that Nintendo tried to attract lil kids and stay at home moms along with other casual/new gamers with the Wii. It was a "family" machine and not a gamer's machine. Those people mostly will not buy a console this time around. They use smartphones and tablets and facebook for gaming now. The Wii motion exercise fad has ended.
Also yes, the gamepad is not sold right now because it would have to be $150+ or don't you see how nintendo charges $50-60 for even the simple Wii U pro controller?
PS4 is much smarter as they know we all have a smartphone and/or tablet so we don't need to spend all that on extra controllers for the 2nd screen.
The PS4 also uses much more powerful hardware for better graphics, faster loading, more impressive animation and bigger, better open worlds, etc. for the same price $300.
I love Nintendo games, but I think they are being outsmarted in every way this time around by Sony.
@Ninjuggernaut and Ps4 will have vita, and smartphones/tablets also to include with their games.
The cost of additional wii U gamepads will be as much as a vita I bet. Might as well get a Vita since it can play full games without even having the console on and does so much more.
The advantage of touch controls, camera and a 2nd screen is already lost for Nintendo, both other machines can do all of that too.
They have a thing to hold your phone on top of the PS4/xbox one controller so its right there in your hands like a wii u gamepad also.
Almost all the people that bought Wii U original game(overweight/stay at home women in 20s-40s) went with ipads and smartphones this generation or play facebook games.
Nintendo really has to focus on gamers more and not lil kids and casual women gamers.
PS4 looks so much better in every way so far. Nintendo only has 1st party games(which usually rock!) to its advantage, but even those are so delayed. Mario Kart 2014? uh why... looks like the same old mario karts but with hd graphics.
Wow......... Wii u is just terrible so far for 3rd party games.
This is the best sports game around and we can't even get that on here?
No football, no soccer, no basketball.... This console is basically a 1st party only machine and you need a Ps4 or Xbox One now for sure, nice work Nintendo!
@JaxonH DLC means extra modes, extra characters, extra maps, huge amounts of content. If one version has it and another does not, it should be a deciding factor on buying the game or not.
Wii U is just failing at every 3rd party company you see because none of the games are selling. Wii U players don't buy FPS games, don't buy sports games, don't buy racing games, don't buy fighting games, its getting to the point where the machine is going to have just 1st party games.
Its Nintendo's fault too, they advertise the machine like a child's toy so its a big turnoff to the average gamer. For now its like the wii, a family toy with a gimmick screen/touch controls in most peoples minds.
PS4 just got more announcements of Planetside 2 and warframe today. free to play FPs games that you play online. Why? Because the devs know PS4 is played by all kinds of people and all ages, diversity in the customer. Those have a lot of DLC and extras to buy after you play the initial game. They know Wii U does not have the playerbase to support such games so they skip Wii U like everything else is right now.
OH WoW another game aimed at little children on Wii U!!!!!! Come on Nintendo you said this would be a gamers machine again....... the average gamer is more like 25-35, not 5-10.
@LDXD I don't know anybody that doesn't have a PC. Maybe children where only the parent has a PC and they have to ask to use it. That's my point, any adult that has a PC(95% of gamers) will choose to play those games on PC rather than on Wii U. Adults use common sense, better price, more content = buy there.
Wii U so far is only good for 1st party games as usual because of high prices compared to other platforms, a slow UI, poor online community(few people play 3rd party games online) and no DLC, etc.
The pictures they show of adults using a 3DS make me laugh. Ive never seen a normal looking person play a 3DS or any nintendo handheld in public(im sure many do at home though). Then they show these 20-30 yr old people stylish lookin playing smiling and crap, hilarious. Nintendo needs to make a tablet or phone something an adult isnt embarrassed to carry around.
@H_Hunter Because if they do it right and have great online play and a way to unlock more stuff or rank up and earn things, itd be great with modern graphics, gameplay and this controller.
It needs more features, How it is now, why would I want to post on miiverse when I'm not on my Wii U? Seems like a facebook for children pretty much. People talk about Xbox One "tv features" as being useless and only want gaming, how about nintendo with things like this, panorama view, google maps and so many things "not gaming" is that ok because its Nintendo and not MS doing it?
YES!! The Best buy near my house is having it. I doubt many people will go even though this is one of the top selling Best Buys in the nation. Most people around here show up fro Xbox/PS stuff, but rarely for Nintendo.
When I waited overnight to get Wii U I was #1 in line at toys r us (#1 selling in nation) and only 20 people showed up overall. For 360 at a best buy I waited also overnight hundreds waited, same for PS3.
It was mandatory update when i got my Wii U at release. When I turned it on, it had to update online for 2-3 hours and I could not use it at all unless I did the update.
I won't be buying the full version. If its on another console its almost always gonna be better than on Wii U, so I will only buy exclusive stuff on Wii U through the consoles entire life for the most part.
"Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One home entertainment system ranked as the top ‘Most Wished For’ product at Amazon.com Inc. post reveal of the hardware. (Amazon.com, Microsoft, Next-Gen, Tech, Xbox One, Xbox One)"
==============================================
Direct links to the most wanted items in Video games on Amazon:
PS3 and Xbox 360 Games dominate the Top 20 movers & shakers
Wii U is not even in the top 20 in USA and has only 1 game in the top 20 in Europe.
The article is pretty much what you call false propaganda trying to get people to believe something that is untrue. Wii U is not selling a significant amount more now due to Xbox Ones announcement and is not wanted more than the PS3, Xbox 360 or Xbox One at all on Amazon.
@capitalism Its called read my post, I put in links to the UK amazon and Nintendo is nowhere near the top in movers and shakers or most wanted. Xbox ONe is #1 most wanted item in UK and USA on Amazon video games.
The sales spike for Wii U was probably due to the price being lowered or could be anything else.
Xbox One is most wanted item on Amazon(video games), so I guess the conference actually boosted their company, not hurt it how this article falsely implies.
@Syntax The problem is there are only a couple games worth buying......
Mario is one of them. Monster Hunter is another for many(i already sold it as it wasnt my taste). Lego City is very childish but decent fun, not a must have though. Nintendo land is decent but not as good as it should be for the pack in(should be a killer app that attracts everyone). Other than those the rest are on other systems or just average at best games.
I mean if you were showing me game of the year candidates I would agree they don't need power and don't need anything else, but the games are overall a letdown up to now.
If they are gonna have the slowest loading times, the crappiest tv/music/movie/social features, the weakest machine, the games need to be outstanding then right?
I already sold 4 of the games I bought and only played those 5 or less times as I was forcing myself to try to have fun in mediocre or worse games.
The only game i really have fun in and I mean fun where i cant play it on another system is Mario. I also love Zen pinball 2, but thats on many consoles. Still have Lego city, Sonic racing and nintendoland but play them very little.
@WaveBoy I agree games on Wii U can still be amazing and look good.
I just dont' agree with people saying "Xbox one has more power but Wii U doesn't need it, its no advantage..."
It is an advantage and a huge one for many gamers. For me gameplay is always over graphics, but I also am amazed by graphics when they come with good gameplay.
Same as people saying Xbox one is trying too much to use TV. Wii U is using TV in every way. WiiTV, the apps, The controller remote, youtube, browsing the net, even making Google Maps and panorama and all kinds of NON GAMING stuff.
I mean what are people on here talking about? Do they realize nintendo is also trying to make an all-in-one or they ignoring it because its so far not impressive?

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo E3 Survey
@Rafie Giana Sisters has been on sale for $1-3 on PC many times already (steam version and DRM free).
I bet Wii U charges $10-15 same as Little inferno, got it on steam as part of a $5 for 12 indie games in a bundle and on Wii U it started out $15....
indie games on Wii U are not worth it unless you have no PC at all.

Good game for kids 12 and under. The usual Nintendo focus.......
Its good to have stuff for kids, but Wii U needs more stuff for gamers(avg. gamer age is 25+ just incase Nintendo has forgotten).

The PS4 also uses much more powerful hardware for better graphics, faster loading, more impressive animation and bigger, better open worlds, etc. for the same price $300.
I love Nintendo games, but I think they are being outsmarted in every way this time around by Sony.
Re: Nintendo Confirms That Yarn Yoshi Just Wasn't Ready to be Shown Off at E3
It looked cool at launch, but by the time they release all this stuff, PS4 launches so they gain 0 fans.
Nobody will be excited for this game and rayman and all these delayed things when they can get the Ps4 and xbox one instead.
Re: Nintendo Reveals When Wii Party U And Wii Fit U Will Become Available
@Ninjuggernaut and Ps4 will have vita, and smartphones/tablets also to include with their games.
The cost of additional wii U gamepads will be as much as a vita I bet. Might as well get a Vita since it can play full games without even having the console on and does so much more.
The advantage of touch controls, camera and a 2nd screen is already lost for Nintendo, both other machines can do all of that too.
They have a thing to hold your phone on top of the PS4/xbox one controller so its right there in your hands like a wii u gamepad also.
Re: Nintendo Reveals When Wii Party U And Wii Fit U Will Become Available
Almost all the people that bought Wii U original game(overweight/stay at home women in 20s-40s) went with ipads and smartphones this generation or play facebook games.
Nintendo really has to focus on gamers more and not lil kids and casual women gamers.
PS4 looks so much better in every way so far. Nintendo only has 1st party games(which usually rock!) to its advantage, but even those are so delayed. Mario Kart 2014? uh why... looks like the same old mario karts but with hd graphics.
Re: NBA 2K14 Won't Be Slam Dunking On Wii U
Wow......... Wii u is just terrible so far for 3rd party games.
This is the best sports game around and we can't even get that on here?
No football, no soccer, no basketball.... This console is basically a 1st party only machine and you need a Ps4 or Xbox One now for sure, nice work Nintendo!
Re: Review: LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (Wii U)
Another old childrens game....... just what Wii U needs.
Re: "Too Early" To Talk About Updates For Sniper Elite V2, Says Developer Rebellion
Re: PES 2014 Will Not Be Dispensed On Wii U
This is the #1 worldwide sport, no soccer game at all is terrible for any system.I don't play them much, but it still is a bad sign.
Re: Monster Hunter Details Revealed During Capcom Event
Looks like the same game. Won't buy it, they are just making quick money grab re-makes instead of actual sequels with big improvements.
Re: Video: Disney's Planes Trailer Flies Into View
OH WoW another game aimed at little children on Wii U!!!!!! Come on Nintendo you said this would be a gamers machine again....... the average gamer is more like 25-35, not 5-10.
Re: It's Still Not Known If Batman: Arkham Origins DLC Is Coming To Wii U
@LDXD I don't know anybody that doesn't have a PC. Maybe children where only the parent has a PC and they have to ask to use it. That's my point, any adult that has a PC(95% of gamers) will choose to play those games on PC rather than on Wii U. Adults use common sense, better price, more content = buy there.
Wii U so far is only good for 1st party games as usual because of high prices compared to other platforms, a slow UI, poor online community(few people play 3rd party games online) and no DLC, etc.
Re: It's Still Not Known If Batman: Arkham Origins DLC Is Coming To Wii U
Will be on PC cheaper, all DLC, better graphics.
Why would anybody buy it on Wii U, especially if its not gonna have DLC?
Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2013 - Summer Edition
The pictures they show of adults using a 3DS make me laugh. Ive never seen a normal looking person play a 3DS or any nintendo handheld in public(im sure many do at home though). Then they show these 20-30 yr old people stylish lookin playing smiling and crap, hilarious. Nintendo needs to make a tablet or phone something an adult isnt embarrassed to carry around.
Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2013 - Summer Edition
@H_Hunter Because if they do it right and have great online play and a way to unlock more stuff or rank up and earn things, itd be great with modern graphics, gameplay and this controller.
Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2013 - Summer Edition
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th May (North America)
I was gonna buy this, but then saw this:
https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly and https://www.humblebundle.com/
I can get both of those bundles full of way better games for same price.
Re: Web-Based Miiverse Posting Now Live
It needs more features, How it is now, why would I want to post on miiverse when I'm not on my Wii U? Seems like a facebook for children pretty much. People talk about Xbox One "tv features" as being useless and only want gaming, how about nintendo with things like this, panorama view, google maps and so many things "not gaming" is that ok because its Nintendo and not MS doing it?
Re: Nintendo Confirms E3 Best Buy Demo Locations
Re: Talking Point: Wii U vs Xbox One - Online Requirements and On-Disc DRM
@dadajo Nintendo president apologizes for lengthy, mandatory Wii U updates
Read more: http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/nintendo-president-apologizes-for-lengthy-mandatory-wii-u-updates/#ixzz2UhcxB7LV
It was mandatory update when i got my Wii U at release. When I turned it on, it had to update online for 2-3 hours and I could not use it at all unless I did the update.
Re: Talking Point: Wii U vs Xbox One - Online Requirements and On-Disc DRM
The Wii U needed to be connected to the internet on Day 1 to get the update to be able to even use it... So what is the big deal?
Re: Video: Sonic Lost World Debut Trailer Blasts Across The Internet
Exclusive game + Sonic, will get!
Re: Oh Snap, Now Rayman Legends Is Coming To PS Vita With Exclusive Content
The free thing is fun on Wii U right now.
I won't be buying the full version. If its on another console its almost always gonna be better than on Wii U, so I will only buy exclusive stuff on Wii U through the consoles entire life for the most part.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Thirteen
DOTA 2, Counter Strike: GO, a bunch of games I got in indie bundles and probably zen pinball 2 on wii u if I turn it on this weekend.
Re: EnjoyUp Games Has Some Unannounced Wii U And 3DS Titles In The Pipeline
Already got La Mulana for less than 50 cents in a bundle.
All these PC indie games are not worth buying on console for $10+ when they come 10 games for $1-4 on PC.
Re: Sniper Elite V2 on Wii U Lacks Online Co-Op and DLC
Really bad game, port that is already out and better on other consoles and PC.
Re: Consumers Go Crazy For Wii U Following Xbox One Reveal
The author of this article is trying to imply that the Xbox One reveal helped the Wii U a lot and that it somehow was really bad for Microsoft.
The truth is:
http://n4g.com/news/1264358/xbox-one-the-most-wished-for-prod...
"Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One home entertainment system ranked as the top ‘Most Wished For’ product at Amazon.com Inc. post reveal of the hardware. (Amazon.com, Microsoft, Next-Gen, Tech, Xbox One, Xbox One)"
==============================================
Direct links to the most wanted items in Video games on Amazon:

USA: http://www.amazon.com/gp/most-wished-for/videogames/ref=zg_bs...
Europe: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/most-wished-for/videogames/ref=zg_...
Xbox One is the most wanted item in both places.

Europe - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/movers-and-shakers/videogames
This shows:
The article is pretty much what you call false propaganda trying to get people to believe something that is untrue. Wii U is not selling a significant amount more now due to Xbox Ones announcement and is not wanted more than the PS3, Xbox 360 or Xbox One at all on Amazon.
Re: Consumers Go Crazy For Wii U Following Xbox One Reveal
@capitalism Its called read my post, I put in links to the UK amazon and Nintendo is nowhere near the top in movers and shakers or most wanted. Xbox ONe is #1 most wanted item in UK and USA on Amazon video games.
The sales spike for Wii U was probably due to the price being lowered or could be anything else.
Xbox One is most wanted item on Amazon(video games), so I guess the conference actually boosted their company, not hurt it how this article falsely implies.
Re: Consumers Go Crazy For Wii U Following Xbox One Reveal
@ngamer155 I love Nintendo, but I also am an overall gamer and just hate lies in articles, sorry.
Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's Next-Gen Challenge Starts to Take Shape
Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's Next-Gen Challenge Starts to Take Shape
