Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Optimistic About The Future of Wii U

GamerJunkie

Pikmin 3 is a niche title. I don't understand why Miyamoto is making such a huge deal about that game. It is sure to be great, but not that many people enjoy that kind of game to make it a blockbuster hit or console selling game.

Metroid, Zelda, Mario Kart, and so on are the games people buy Nintendo consoles for, not pikmin.

Also this article said Pikmin will be followed by great games like Lego undercover? I bought that game months ago and already sold it back on Amazon, how is it coming after Pikmin? LMAO.

Re: Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara For Wii U "Has Been A Bit of A Nightmare" For The Producer

GamerJunkie

@LDXD I will be an old man still gaming, but doubt it will be over my friends house. Sure you can visit an old friend a couple times a year as an adult, but when you grow up you will realize "friends" get married, have kids, move away to other neighborhoods, cities, states and countries. You usually only see them a few times per year. That is why the internet is so cool, we keep in touch by doing stuff online now. When you do see old friends as an adult, you mainly see them at holidays, weddings, funerals or birthdays, etc. you're not gonna be sitting there playing a videogame during those times either. Online is how adults play games the vast majority of the time.

Re: Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara For Wii U "Has Been A Bit of A Nightmare" For The Producer

GamerJunkie

@LDXD That is you man, but adults dont invite their friends over to play games.... The average gamer is 25 years old or so, not a teenager or younger that says, "hey man come over my house and sit next to me and play some videogames." Adults have girls/wives/kids/jobs, etc. and don't have time for that so they play online when they have time at home. Why is it hard for you to understand that? Its why online gaming has taken off and is way more popular now than just multiplayer locally. If you are a single person age 13-20s yea you might think the way you do, but most people are not that way.

Re: Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara For Wii U "Has Been A Bit of A Nightmare" For The Producer

GamerJunkie

@LDXD This game was meant to be played with people next to you 20 years ago in the arcade. The new feature of the remake is ONLINE PLAY~!!! Also, your friends don't have a PC at home to play with you online? Come on man..... In reality most people don't have friends over to play videogames everyday, so online is more convenient for multiplayer. Especially adults.

Re: Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara For Wii U "Has Been A Bit of A Nightmare" For The Producer

GamerJunkie

@TreonsRealm Yea i talk to the devs of Toki Tori on steam, they reply directly to most comments on there in the games forum. They said they will bring the Wii U bonus content, "when the time is right" which to me sounds like they will charge for it.

Even if its free, you had to pay more and wait a long time on Wii U.

I will never buy indie games that are also on steam on the Wii U because of that. They are always way more money, missing content, late, etc. The only one i got and it hasn't been a disaster too much is Zen pinball 2, and that had a bug in it where global rankings didn't even work for a month after release. I will support that game with buying more tables, but thats it.

So, bugs are in Wii U games as well, many games caused freezing of the console and many other problems, Nintendo has patched many games, so don't try to say the versions on Wii U have no bugs lol. Wii U versions of games are inferior to the PC versions.

If you want to buy them still, go ahead, but I will only buy 1st party games on here, I learned my lesson already.

Re: Wii U Summer System Update Pushed Back To The Fall

GamerJunkie

@Cyberbotv2 That's probably true. They said they were making a console for more hardcore gamers with Wii-U, but the console hardware is weak compared to the other 2 and developers already gave up on it, so Nintendo will go back to what they did with Wii and have the family/kid console. It won't sell as much though this time because during Xmas the other 2 consoles launch and will have all the hype and commercials, ads on TV, magazines, etc. then.

Re: Pachter: Nintendo Has Lost Its "Mojo"

GamerJunkie

Only reason to own Nintendo is to play 2-3 1st party games a year and probably 1 3rd party game per year, for overall gaming you need a 2nd console or a gaming PC.

Mine is already pretty much a dust collector that is used to watch Amazon video more than gaming and I bought about 8 games already to test the system out and sold 5 of them back already they were so boring or lackluster.

Re: Video: Reggie Explains Nintendo's Approach to Ensuring Wii U Success

GamerJunkie

@MadAdam81 Yea keep believing that lol.

FFXV, Kingdom Hearts, FFXIV, 3 different types of RPGS by one dev alone on PS4(not on Wii U) and none of those are FPS, but all are console selling games.

DC universe, EQ Next, and tons of F2P MMO games also wil be on PS4.

Metal Gear, gran Turismo, God of War, Ratchet & Clank, resistance, unchartered, and so on off the top of my head none of those are FPS.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/24/20-games-12-new-franchises-coming-to-playstation-4-in-year-one

Read that too they will have tons of games exclusive to that console.

Its ok to love Nintendo, I love their 1st party games too, but its another thing to flat out lie and pretend its the best console when its gonna be 3rd overall.

Re: Wii U Turned Ubisoft On To Second-Screen Gaming, But Isn't The Focus Moving Forward

GamerJunkie

The Wii U is all but dead as far as 3rd party games go. There is no recovering from this.

The 1st party games will still be there and games like the next monolith RPG, and a few others, but overall this machine is already buried in its grave to most publisher/developers.

Anyone that only owns a Wii U and no PC or other console will miss out on 90% of the great games over the next 5 years. Only about 10% will be on Wii U if that.

Re: Rumour: Mario Kart 8 Coming To Wii U in April

GamerJunkie

@Kohaku NO its not. Totally different audience these games go for.

Mario kart is a nice kids/family/adult casual racing game with weapons.

Forza and GT are teen/adult serious, simulation driving games.

A person can like all of them, but they are not the same thing. A person that is looking for a serious driving game with cars in it won't settle for mario kart.

Re: Xbox 360 Sales Set to Pass the Wii's in the UK

GamerJunkie

Wii won over a lot of people early on with gimmick motion controls and selling it as a family machine and as an exercise machine for women and the elderly.

gamers realized this and it became a dust collector for them and their friends didnt buy one after that.

The 360 and PS3 churn out new, good games every week. Tons of RPGs and adventure games, sports games, etc. that nintendo has none of. So this is expected.

Re: Hands On: The Wonderful 101

GamerJunkie

@onex That's true its fun co-op, but it sucks we can't play online then you can play with your friends everyday and family anywhere in the world.

Nintendo thinks we all invite friends over everyday or what? Only kids that are in school can do that, normal people have lives so they play online with each other at night.

Re: Hands On: The Wonderful 101

GamerJunkie

@BATRA Me too. I don't invite people over my house to play videogames anymore(maybe a handful of time only a year). My girl and I play together, but party games like this need to have online multiplayer, its 2013, not 2003 Nintendo.

Re: Review: Game & Wario (Wii U)

GamerJunkie

@Samurairu Seems like the people that are excited for all of these mediocre games are casual family/women/kid gamers.

Nintendo needs some games for people that want to play real games. Not demos they call games, pretend exercise and stuff to play against mom and lil brother john.

Re: EA Outlines Its Reasons for Lack of Wii U Support

GamerJunkie

@AyeHaley Pre-orders are insane for both compared to what Wii U had.

I got my Wii U at the #1 selling toys R us(has most sales in the USA each year) and Best buys and I was 1st in line to get it at the toys R us and only 12 people showed up before the store opened. Most launches have hundreds there overnight that I went to in the past for 360/ps3, etc.

Re: EA Outlines Its Reasons for Lack of Wii U Support

GamerJunkie

Everyone knows EA does do some crappy stuff. But, they also make the only NFL game, and some of the top sports games in every other sport too. They also have some of the all-time best series/franchises. So, even if you hate them, you probably like a few of their games.

EA is making smart business decisions. If Nintendo makes it hard to make games and hard to support DLC, hard to implement online gaming, compared to the other 2 next gen systems, then they have to skip games to force Nintendo to wake up and catch up to the technology everyone else seems to easily make available to customers and developers.

Its not only EA by the way, 75% of 3rd parties are ignoring the Wii U, so the common denominator is Nintendo that is messing up for 3rd parties.

Re: Hands On: The Wonderful 101

GamerJunkie

co-op LOCALLY sucks. When will Nintendo start to actually use the internet?

Only kids have 4 friends over to play a game like this.

Game looks interesting, I'll have to try the demo and see if its a must buy game or not though.

If its just another family/party game I'll skip it.

Re: You Can Now Grab a Copy of Soul Saga on Wii U For Only $15

GamerJunkie

@element187 Its not false rumors, all indie games, go to bundles to make a ton of money since they sell so many copies when they go cheap like that.

You get a steam key with the purchase, so then you have it on steam when you buy it at a bundle site.

Whenever I have purchased an indie game for $5-15 I always see the game goes down to $1 or less in a bundle within 3-4 months. Its a fact, not a rumor.

Little Inferno I almost got on Wii U when it was $14.99 to start out, but then it was on a bundle site for .50 cents lol. It was in this bundle http://www.gottabemobile.com/2013/05/28/new-humble-bundle-includes-hotline-miami-little-inferno/ I got all those games for $4.50 total.

Re: You Can Now Grab a Copy of Soul Saga on Wii U For Only $15

GamerJunkie

@edhe They aren't charities..... The devs want you to buy from those sites. Some let you give part of money to charity, but most are for the devs.

There are over 10 sites that do indie bundles and its to give the devs money as well since they sell hundreds of thousands of copies or tens of thousands its more than they would ever make normally.

Its all to promote Indies and has given them tons of money.

Theres humblebundle.com indiegala.com indieroyale.com groupees.com indiegamestand.com and many, many more sites for this

Why would I buy an indie on Wii U? Nintendo is charging them a big amount to have the game on here so the indie company does not get a big % of it. So I am just wasting my money when I can get a better deal and the dev doesn't even get more money from it.

Re: Kickstarter J-RPG Soul Saga: Episode I Heading to the Wii U, if Funded

GamerJunkie

@Macarony64 You don't get it. The same game is on steam for $1-2 why would I buy it on Wii U for $10-20?

If 5 million smart people buy the steam version even at $1, thats $5 Million

and only 50,000 people buy the Wii U one x $10 = $500k profit only on the Wii U version.

The developer of the game gets more money from the PC steam customers. You obviously know nothing about how to make money.

I also buy many games at full price when they are worth it. But if its on one system for 20x more money, I take the smart buy, I am not a fool.

Re: Talking Point: New Super Luigi U Opens The Door For Quick Expansions in Other Franchises

GamerJunkie

@slim80 You are the prime example I am talking about. You call $20 DLC cheap and you think they can charge $40-50 for DLC ahhahahaha. $20 is pretty much the max amount a DLC should ever be.

Go look at things like Steam and indie bundles that have full great games for $1-5. and even less.

You people that only play on Nintendo are used to high prices and being ripped off, so you really don't understand what a good deal is or not.

I play on PC, Wii U and had many consoles in the past. Nintendo is by far the most expensive system to buy games for.

Pay 1 penny and you can get this game: http://www.humblebundle.com/weekly or $1 for the steam key version. It also includes its DLC for same price.

If you look around you can get like 20 good games for less than $10 total for all 20. This is my point. I don't understand how you brag how cheap a $20 DLC is compared to what I'm saying. I support Nintendo, I bought Luigi DLC, but it is not cheap or a great deal, open your eyes to gaming, not just the Nintendo world.

Re: Talking Point: New Super Luigi U Opens The Door For Quick Expansions in Other Franchises

GamerJunkie

@indienapolis Yea thats true too. But, I just feel like they did this to make a huge profit on "fanatics" since they know all their other games are delayed.

They could have given this as a free DLC or $5 for owners of the original mario U. They just know Nintendo fanatics are dying for anything to play and will buy this even overpriced.

"Its a standalone game" NO its not, its DLC for an existing game they are marketing as some bigger deal than it should be.

Re: Talking Point: New Super Luigi U Opens The Door For Quick Expansions in Other Franchises

GamerJunkie

Nintendo is doing a complete boxed release to maximize money, its called being greedy. They can get money from people that already have the mario game and even tel them "the box ix for collectors, so pay more if you can." And then they also can get money from people that don't own the mario game and then hope they go back and buy that too.

Normal companies just release something like this as a cheap DLC and thats it. Also, if another company tried this, they would be called out like, "uhhh releasing a few changes and new main character is not a new game, I dare them to try this.."

But Nintendo fanatics agree with anything Nintendo dopes or says, so they will get away with it and probably praised for it, its such a joke.

The only time you see a full box release of a game is an expansion that took years to make, usually in MMORPGS. This addition took them no time to make pretty much as the machine just came out.

I got the DLC version and $20 for that is even steep.

Re: Club Nintendo Confirms Luigi Pin Contest For New Super Luigi U Downloads

GamerJunkie

I'll get the download version tomorrow for sure. I hope they give something good to platinum members this year.

Club Nintendo offers only dollar store physical items in the online store thing. I use all my points on wii games so far. Only thing is I hate using the wii VC on Wii U... Wish it could play them on Wii U already without going to the wii menu at all.

Re: Iwata: We Are To Blame For Poor Wii U Sales

GamerJunkie

@LDXD So you assume everybody that bought WIi U, had a Wii before? LOL..... Many people don't have a Wii or sold it long ago.

They say the Wii U can play Wii games that I buy on the virtual console, but you need extra controllers, so you have to buy them to get full use of the features of the Wii U. If not then its advertising features i cannot use right?

Other games need a Wiimote and nunchuk to use the co-op or a Pro controller. How about in the future when you need 2 gamepads? YOu really think gamepad will cost less than an extra ps4 controller?

Your argument is pretty garbage. PS4 gives you way more power in the box for just $50 more and once you get all the accessories that you need to fully enjoy each system, it is the same price, and probably cheaper for the PS4.

Re: Reggie Unmoved By The Threat Of $400 PlayStation 4

GamerJunkie

@Yorumi You do realize many people have been playing FFXI on PS2 for 10 years now? Japan will play FFXIV mostly on console as well(about 75% of them).

The new game like the old one has built in short chat and all kinds of things to make it very playable and feel at home on a controller.

I still prefer PC, but like I said I will have both versions and I feel that more people will play on console overall. FFXIV is going to be a huge hit for PS4

Re: Ubisoft Delayed Rayman Legends On Wii U In Fear Of Low Sales

GamerJunkie

@Williaint Like I said, lets wait and see. So far I see that people on Wii U get excited for games like skylanders and disney infinity and wonderful 101.

They don't seem to care about sports, FPS, strategy, mature games. Hopefully they will start to care about more genres and 3rd parties can thrive, but so far I just don't see it.

Re: Reggie Unmoved By The Threat Of $400 PlayStation 4

GamerJunkie

@Yorumi PS4 is great for FFXIV. I already have the PC version, but plan to get it on PS4 since you play together all on the same server and your characters transfer over. It means you can play on TV when you want and on PC when you want.

The game was made with controller in mind, so you really can play it fine with one, I already tried it on my PC.

Re: Ubisoft Delayed Rayman Legends On Wii U In Fear Of Low Sales

GamerJunkie

So, now when they do release it and if it has less sales than they expect and if it does better on other consoles will they also drop Nintendo or what?

They would have made more money releasing this game earlier as there are so few games on Wii U worth buying, it would have sold a ton. Now less are interested and especially that it is no longer an exclusive.

This company seems dumb to me. The other games they plan to release on Wii u are in genres that sell poorly on Wii U splinter cell, assassins creed, and watchdogs all seem like games Wii U players will not buy with enough sales to make them happy, but lets wait and see.

Re: Iwata: We Are To Blame For Poor Wii U Sales

GamerJunkie

@LDXD The Wii U needs you to buy a pro controller, Wiimotes, nunchuk, just to be able to play games.(I even had to buy an old pro controller to play my wii VC games on Wii U, so thats another one lol).

You DO NEED NUNCHUK and Wiimotes to play maney games and also, to even control the wii menu, so don't pretend you don't need them.

Add that up and its more expensive than a PS4. Also, if more than 1 player ever needs a gamepad, it will cost over $100 when/if they ever release it.

Also, PS4 will have tons of free to play games such as DC universe online, planetside 2, etc. So for free they can enjoy great games.

I don't think Wii U is cheaper in any way, sorry.

Re: Kingdom Hearts III Highly Unlikely To Appear On Wii U

GamerJunkie

I have a Wii U, it does not mean I have to be a fanboy and agree with how Nintendo is handling things.

I am really disappointed so far with my Wii U and so few games.

If you can't handle people's opinions, get off the internet.

I never bash Nintendo, I speak my opinion. So far the games are very weak, they are losing 3rd party games left and right. Am I supposed to pretend I am enjoying the drought of games and lie on here?

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo E3 Survey

GamerJunkie

@Rafie Use Wii U for 1st party games. All those Indie games you see on Wii shop are a joke. They are on steam and in bundles for $1 or less, all of them, even trine 2 and the top looking ones $2-5.

http://www.humblebundle.com/ Look at that bundle includes little inferno that is on Wi U for what $10-15? This whole bundle I got for $5 and it came with that game and 10 others lol.

Any game thats on another console or on PC I skip on Nintendo, but you gotta love their 1st party stuff.
