Did you miss your chance to pick up a SNES Classic Edition the first time around? You had to be quick on the pre-orders as they sold out almost immediately and mostly ended up on a certain well known auction site, but such is life.
Thankfully, Nintendo of America has promised that more stock of the Super NES Classic (and indeed the Nintendo Switch) will be made available in time for the holiday season. Speaking to the Washington Post, NoA President Reggie Fils-Aimé did say there will be a regular supply of both consoles on store shelves for the rest of the year. So that all sounds very promising.
Let us know if you missed bagging a Super NES Mini the first time around, will you be trying to get one for MSRP this time around?

Still baffled at the exclusion of Pac Man 2 on the SNES mini
Yes please!!
I'm still convinced they will create a 2nd snes mini with all the great games they didn't include in the first one.
Got mine the first day preorders went up, so I don't have to endure this. But godspeed to everyone else.
I need them both! Never fails to sell out from under me.
Of course Nintendo is making more. The SNES mini is actually beating the next-gen twins PS4/X1 in sales.
A no brainer.
I already forgot that SNES mini was a thing. I'm not that interested in these mini consoles. They seem to have them in stock online here. Doesn't surprise me since so called rare things aren't usually that rare in Finland and they are also selling it here for 150€. I'd buy it if it were 30€.
Hacked mine, installed dozens of games, and realize I mostly play Mario Super Picross on it.
Managed to snag one at a store that just got a shipment in so I'm set........now I just have to wait to Christmas
I'm debating picking up another SNES Classic for my sister's Christmas gift. She's 5 years older than me but loved playing Super Mario Kart with her friends growing up, even though the SNES was more my thing, LOL!
I was in New York a few weeks ago and was lucky enough to visit the Nintendo NY store (also known as heaven) and they were handing out numbers to people in line. I got in line and scored a SNES Classic. I’m never that lucky, the planets must have been aligned.
"Look, we even hired a second guy to help make them!
..so cut us some slack okay - jeez!"
Come on Nintendo... just tell that they are no longer a limited product run and then you'll see people will stop buying from scalpers and just waiting to get their hands on one the normal way.
I haven't gotten mine and I'm growing nervous because you can't find a single one here in Mexico. It's also way more expensive, it's around $125 US dollars at retail!!!
My bro and I each got one day one. We're in our 30s and live in seperate states so we're not greedy. Hope everyone who wants one (except scalpers) gets one. Good luck!
Walked in a supermarket this monday, they had five on a shelve. Felt like I won the lottery. Good luck to the rest of you.
I literally saw 10 of them at my local Walmart, 2 or 3 days ago.
Hoping they include the UK in this, we're still in the grip of scalpers over here...
Considering this console was the second best seller in October... yeah ..make more, lots more. lol
The SNES Classic has been perpetually sold out since launch where I live and while I really want to believe Nintendo on their promises to have more units shipped, I have some serious doubts that I'll ever be able to find one. I hope I'm wrong.
I haven't been able to find an SNES Classic, but I would purchase one at regular price for sure.
Wait, you mean they're ending production instead right?
I will try to get one next month.
If Nintendo can produce enough that I can walk into a store and buy one, I will absolutely do so. I’m not chasing them down or paying a scalper.
I got one but I want to secure a few more as gifts to friends and family. I’m the go to Nintendo guy for my friends and family, so I got a reputation to uphold!!
Good luck to us all!
i know people want an n64 mini and a gameboy classic is probably inevitable but I would prefer another nes and snes classic third party themed editions. I'm sure most of us would fork over another 60 dollars for a mega man themed classic that includes the Disney afternoon collection and the rest of capcoms best nes games. A castlevania themed konami system would also be great. My biggest issue with Nintendo is that they never really put much time or effort in preserving the nes and snes library. I also believe that there is a market for a nes and snes rerelease. The whole industry grew up with Nintendo and I bet a large number of developers would support a modern nes and snes with new games if Nintendo gave them a system and their blessing to support a modern nes/snes.
I got mine on release day, but I may get another, if there is plenty of stock, Just for the heck of it.
What I really want is an NES Classic, because I completely missed out on one and I know I'm in a large group that did.
Excellent, I'll pick one up for my nephew this holiday then but not on Black Friday.
Hint for those in the UK
I have snagged two (xmas pressies, I am no scalper!) in the last week at my local GAME store. The manager there informs me they are getting regular stock weekly, but still small numbers.
I got into the habit of checking their website (online offering £135 reseller only, boo!) each morning, putting in my postcode in the "check stock in local store" section.
Got one today, one last Thursday.
It is a little faff, but I got two at RRP.
GAME are hit and miss, but they came through for me on this front
Hope that helps some peeps x
I'm in Ohio and saw about 12 of them in Walmart last week. Thank god for layaway... I was able to put down $10 to have them hold it for me until today. I've alreafy picked it up and am ready to try it out tonight.
For those of you who want one, it's time to start checking your local stores.
Not surprised that Ninty has continued to have stock issues. I preordered mine and received it. If I didn't I wouldn't have one. I haven't seen one on store shelves since launch
@thesilverbrick Had to double-check if that was somehow me posting in my sleep- my thoughts exactly.
I could not believe it. I walked into Walmart after work at 6 pm. The nice lady in the electronics section said they probably didn't have any. Then we looked and 2 were sitting right in front of me.
Thank whichever article it was that alerted me to Walmart's 3-day restock at 2 pm. I walked out of that store fist-bumping the air.
One last restock before this product gets discontinued in Janurary! Hardly anyone will be able to get one. Thank you Nintendo!
My local Best Buy had 2 in stock and 1 guy snatched up 1 right in front of my eyes.
I haven’t found one yet. They keep selling out and are always on eBay or Facebook marketplace. I’m not super concerned though, I didn’t find a nes classic until March of last year. I don’t intend to pay scalpers, they are the worst.
@Rhaoulos I hacked mine and downloaded them. I had them on my SNES when I was a kid and on my Wii VC so no foul.
@th3r3ds0x
Hey you found one, that's great! I know we were both sore about what happened with Walmart. So glad you could find one. I know it wasn't anyone's fault, but I felt really bad after all those orders got cancelled, especially since I wrote to you specifically about it.
I got very, very lucky with a preorder from Best Buy, I almost didn't make it through the checkout, and it was sold out about 2 minutes after I got a confirmation number. As the website started doing wonky things cause of all the traffic, I started to panic, lol.
Glad to see there was eventually a happy ending for both of us after the crap Walmart pulled. If I'm in New York I always stop by the Nintendo store, you just never know what they'll have, cause they sorta play by their own rules. Very smart idea to stop in there since you were in the area. Happy virtual console gaming to you, enjoy!
Thanks! Yea it truly was a lucky encounter. I was staying just a couple blocks away. I ended up going over there 3 times. It truly was a magical place to me. Was funny the day I got the console I walked over there planning to get there just around when they open so I could look for a while. I get around the corner and there is a line down the block and I’m thinking, wtf? Is this place so popular people stand in line in the rain to get in? So I walk over to the end of the line and ask the girl in front of me what everyone was waiting for and she tells me, next thing I know a Nintendo employee walks up and puts a band on my wrist and says that if you have a band you’re guaranteed a console. I really couldn’t believe it. I should have gone and bought a lottery ticket .
I still want a NES Classic Edition !
Was lucky enough to find one at Target the other day!!!
I'm in the US for a week. I hope I can snag one.
I got two the first time around from two different retailers. I was anticipating more cancellations like with the NES mini. Still, these little windows of availability which vary by retailer, seem like a "pane". That... that was a horrible pun. Scoring one of these shouldn't feel like a game. And it does.
I would never ever believe I would be able to say this, but.....
Here in Norway we got plenty of stock of SNES Mini's everywhere.
...then again, not suprising seeing they try to sell it at 200% the retail price!!! /facepalm
They were, as always, sold out. Not going to try for it on Black Friday. Sounds too stressful. Wake me up when you can walk in and buy one in stores, without having to worry about scalper jerks trying to club you over the head to add to the forty-plus in their shopping carts.
@th3r3ds0x
Haha, that was some good luck there! My best friend lives near there and he says they generally just follow their own rules, and you just never know what they'll have. It's a really fun place to visit. I especially like the little Nintendo museum they have with the blown up Gameboy.
