Most genres and game styles are now covered on the Switch eShop, and VooFoo Studios is looking to tick the overhead racing box with Mantis Burn Racing; the good news is that the wait is almost over.
It's been confirmed that it'll arrive on 23rd November, priced at £14.99 / $19.99 USD / €15.99. It promises to be a strong version of the game, with assurances on high framerates and plenty of content - it'll have all of the previous DLC included, along with local multiplayer options and cross-play support for online races.
If you want to know more about this one you can check out our interview with VooFoo Studios; in the meantime let us know whether you'll be tempted to pick this up.

Maybe after I finish skyrim.
The indie game lifeblood of the Switch will have to take a back seat for the next few weeks while I play all these AAA 3rd party releases.
Top-down? A big no thank you from me.
Yes.
@Kalmaro So never.
I need a good arcadey racer. Ala Need for Speed or something like it. I would love to see Dirt come to the Switch.
This game looks dope
@GC-161 Well, not any time soon at least
I can't resist this one, day one for sure. So next week, I've got Soccer Brawl, Tiny Metal and now Mantis Burn Racing. The Switch just keeps getting better and better.
Not played a good top down racer for a while so might give this a go after I pick up LA Noire next week...
Yup. Need this one on Switch.
It's officially running at 60fps now as well, for those who haven't kept up with this one.
Does anyone have any money left at this point?!
@NaviAndMii nope, after skyrim, and since odyssey, I’ve purchased 9 games. And there are still like 5 more over the next couple weeks that I’ll get too.
Same price as rocket league. I’d rather get rocket league.
sweet. looks great and has full complement of features. that shouldnt be rare, but is
I’ve wanted something like the 90’s editions of Micro Machines ever since V3 on PS1 and although this isn’t exactly the same, it may just be a great game for me - I’m absolutely excited for it.
Codemasters doesn’t seem to have the same passion for it’s MM that it used to in the 90’s judging by it’s lack of content, gameplay modes, lacklustre controls and a loss of a big game with little cars feel that made the originals so great, so I’ll see what others can do.
if nothing else these devs seem to have a good passion for what they are doing and that’s a good start.
Tabletop Racing World Tour (i think that's the name, havent played it in a few months) is a good top down racer that could be ported to the Switch. (was it on the wii-u?) . I'm a huge racing game fan (mostly arcade racers and arcade, sometimes sim if it's not too simmy) but tabletop racers are always hit or miss for me.. this one looks decent.
Looks like mashed. If it plays like it, I’m in. My friends and I still play that game to this day.
Top down? Sign me up, thats the way i like to play these.
Glad to see they have increased its performance... interested to see how it runs in real world play... If it seems fun and runs smooth, I will probably put it on my "when it's on sale" list.
@Prof_Yoshtonics Check out Gear.Club. As an ex-iOS gamer that game was the last straw for me on that platform for not being premium. A dream has come true as it's not just being ported but gets a ton of new features AND a complete graphics overhaul in a completely premium package. I'll still wait for the reviews of course, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. It's due December 1st.
Huh... Death Rally!?
@Ponyfox Yeah I've heard of that one. It looked pretty good. I just don't know about an ex-ios game that I would pay that much for. $15 and we're talking. $40-$50 is kinda weird. If it were developed on the Switch it would be one thing. I'm sure we'll get 2 or 3 racers next year that will warrant a purchase. Thanks for the reply fam!
Looks a bit like Rock 'n roll racing from snes, really liked that game
Got it and it’s great. Perfect for the Switch. Loving it in between Mario, Zelda, ARMS, Splatoon 2, kid Tripp............not bad for a System with no games!
