Re: Review: Fire Emblem Warriors (Switch)

Fred13

@Ralek85 I think you misunderstood my comment. I'm relenting that split screen is the only method of co-op. I'm hoping for local multiplayer (2 switches & 2 copies of the game playing local) only because I know they aren't going to be doing online multiplayer, but I'd be just as happy with online multiplayer as both options would allow my wife and I to play together without splitscreen.

Re: Review: Fire Emblem Warriors (Switch)

Fred13

@AJ81 @Ralek85 @onex @danidambro Yes this game has splitscreen co-op as I read in another review. However, I don't really want to do split screen. I was too spoiled by the Wii U where my son and I each had our own screen. What I'd like to know is can I buy 2 copies of the game and do co-op with 2 switches and 2 copies of the game LOCALLY. If so then they just sold 2 more copies. If not then I'm not yet sure if I even want 1 copy of the game.

Re: NBA 2K18 Players Report Problems With Corrupted Save Files

Fred13

So, we played this game all weekend. 5 people in my family now have a save file and it's seen hours and hours of play (all my career we haven't played anything else)
I looked to see how much internal storage has been used by the 5 save files as I wondered if it's completely full yet...
LESS THAN HALF A GIG!!!
Now let me be clear, that's still much bigger than it should be, but it's not ANYWHERE NEAR as bad as it's been made out to be.
Maybe each save file CAN get up to 5 GB, but so far the combination of all 5 isn't even 0.5 GB.

Also, luckily I haven't seen a single corrupted file. Although I wouldn't put it past 2K, before 2K18 I've only owned 2 versions of NBA 2K (NBA 2K11 PS3 and NBA 2K13 on Wii U) and the one I had on PS3 had a bug where our save info would get corrupted.

Re: Here's How Much Data You'll Need To Download For NBA 2K18 On Switch

Fred13

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Wii U did have at least 1 game that couldn't fit on the Internal storage. I remember buying NBA 2K13 and it wouldn’t fit, I popped in a USB flash drive and pushed ALL my data including save files to the USB flash drive and I still didn’t have enough room for NBA 2K13.
That game is why I bought a 2TB external hard drive for my Wii U.

Re: Here's How Much Data You'll Need To Download For NBA 2K18 On Switch

Fred13

@JamesR @derrin @Rayquaza2510 Wow, that stinks. Thanks for the info though. Good thing all my games are on the SD card and the internal only has saves because this game alone will either take up 15 or 20 GB (I'm not yet sure if my 7 year old daughter will want her own save file but my wife and son and I will for sure) I might have to buy my wife her own copy of the game (for her own switch) where we were previously going to share this one copy. That way it'll be 10GB on each internal instead of 20GB on my internal. Man I feel bad for families that buy this game and only have 1 Switch for the whole family. We were going to do that, but my wife and I have way too much fun playing Splatoon online together so we bought a second one.

Re: Here's How Much Data You'll Need To Download For NBA 2K18 On Switch

Fred13

@flapjack-ashley @JHDK Last night I hit download at 10pm right when it became available. When I went to bed (midnight) it was at 71% downloaded. When i woke up this morning it was done. However, if that was only the 6.8GB then I regret not taking some time with it this morning to get the 16GB download initialted.
I'm very excited for this game!!!

Re: Switch Was the Best-Selling Platform for August 2017

Fred13

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I really wish you were wrong about Xenoblade being niche, but you're not. Xenoblade Chronicles is my all time favorite game, and I loved Xenoblade X so I'm very much looking forward to Xenoblade 2, but unfortunately you're right. I don't know how Nintendo is still making these as I'm sure the first 2 they lost money on, but I'm glad they're still making them.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Direct?

Fred13

#1-Xenoblade 2 (I'm starting to get really excited for this game)
#2-Snipperclips I've been hoping for DLC for this game since my wife and I conquered it
#3-Mario the only reason this was less exciting for me than Snipperclips is I already knew about this and Snipperclips came from out of no where

Re: Nintendo Download: 14th September (North America)

Fred13

@MarioPhD Personally, I have no problem with 30 fps instead of 60 as long as there’s no stuttering or slowdown. I’d prefer we get the prelude like the PS4 and Xbox One got. I would have loved to have played through the first part before receiving the game. I almost borrowed my bro-in-law’s PS4 for a few days to do just that, but that’s me I realize that a lot of people find a huge jump in enjoyment getting 60 fps over 30 it just doesn’t make a difference to me.

Re: Nintendo Download: 14th September (North America)

Fred13

@MarioPhD I think the sports titles will only hold strong IF THEY SELL!
Just like with Wii U's NBA 2K13 which didn't sell and we never for NBA 2K14, if NBA 2K18 doesn't sell at least decent then we'll never see another NBA 2K game on Switch.

Re: Nintendo Download: 14th September (North America)

Fred13

@MarioPhD I also wanted it physically. In fact I had pre-ordered it through Best Buy, but when I got the email that the release date was changed to October 17 and I learned that it would be available tonight for anyone buying digitally I decided I was never going to make it a month so I might as well just buy in immediately. I mean I'd really regret it if I went 2 weeks and then caved because that would mean I should have caved 2 weeks earlier. So I canceled my pre-order and I will be hitting download as soon as it comes up on the eShop tonight.

Re: Overcooked: Special Edition Update Brings Silky-Smooth Framerate

Fred13

@electrolite77 you're correct 60 fps is better than 30 fps I never said it wasn't. However, it's only marginally better. 480 fps would be better than 60 fps, but I don't know if you'd even be able to see the difference. Yes 60 fps is better, but I stand by my statement that 30 fps doesn't hurt my ability to enjoy the game (or any game for that matter)

Re: Splatoon 2 Designer Explains Why The Maps Rotate And Salmon Run Is Time-Limited

Fred13

I'm amazed at how much this bothers so many people. My wife and I jump in and play 30-60 min of Splatoon almost every night and it hasn't been a problem to us we just enjoy the stages as they come.

Mario Kart does this on a smaller scale. When you do Battle Mode online you can't choose which mode you're doing and when you race online you can't choose which class (50cc-200cc)

Re: Editorial: Mandatory Memory Cards for Switch Retail Games is a Messy Solution

Fred13

@SBandy Yes, NBA 2K18 will use more than 20GB. I bought the digital version of NBA 2K13 on my Wii U. It wouldn't download so I moved ALL game and save data to a flash drive and tried again, and it still didn't have enough space. I broke down and bought an external hard drive and then learned (if I remember correctly) it was a little over 25 GB. It's been 5 years and games don't shrink so I fully expect closer to 30 GB this time around.

Re: Editorial: Mandatory Memory Cards for Switch Retail Games is a Messy Solution

Fred13

@The64Master I really hope you're wrong...but it's hard to make a counter point after my Wii U experience. I bought Madden 13 and NBA 2K13 and couldn't figure out why there wasn't a Madden 14 or NBA 2K14 until I looked up the sales of '13...abysmal! I would have dropped it too if it with those numbers.

I really hope you're wrong, because in 2 or3 years I'd like to buy NBA 2K20 or 21 but if they can't sell NBA 2K18 why would they bring out any future versions?

Re: Reminder: Don't Miss The Flight Vs Invisibility Splatfest In Splatoon 2

Fred13

@Vegeta937 First of all, the Spatfest question are never about Splatoon preferences. It's not, would you like to be invisible in Splatoon it's would you like to be invisible in real life so the paint being thrown around is not relevant.
Second, who said I want to steal stuff. What kind of a super hero do you think I'm trying to become.
Third, if you had read my post I mentioned that flying is worthless without speed to go along with it. I'm assuming you are flying at about the same speed you can run (not very fast) Yes you could get a kitten out of a tree, but you'd still need a vehicle if you want to get anywhere quickly. Flying to another country at 5 mph would take wwwwwwwwaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy ttttttttooooooooo lllllllloooooooonnnnnnnnggggggg.

Re: Colourful Nintendo Switch Splatoon 2 Edition Bundle is Heading to North America Soon

Fred13

@thesilverbrick First of all, small misunderstanding. When I capitolize 2-4 words it's just to emphasize them not to yell. It's something that happens because of the way we do things where I work so while I recognize that the internet as a whole understands that as yelling that's not what i meant.

Beyond that, you're right in that you can have the opinion that they should charge less and you can choose not to buy it, but you specifically said it was against business ethic which is straight up false.

Re: Colourful Nintendo Switch Splatoon 2 Edition Bundle is Heading to North America Soon

Fred13

@thesilverbrick Scalping would be if the bundle was priced at $450. It would be them charging MORE for the bundle, but in this case they're leaving the price alone and giving you a cool new option that YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE. If you don't like this bundle you can buy the system and then select the game you want.

Besides that THERE IS NOTHING in Business Ethics against what they're doing with this bundle.

You guys whine and cry about everything.
Yes it would be cool it if was cheaper, but you don't drop the price on your product before you can even meet demand that would be economic stupidity.
