How can the same company consistently do one thing after another that NOBODY could have possibly seen coming. I mean seriously, part of the fun of Nintendo is that it's literally impossible to predict what they'll do next. (unfortunately I'm not a Pokemon fan, but hats off to them for AGAIN doing something I would have never guessed)
Amazing game!!! I had it #1 on my 3DS list until they ported my ALL-TIME Favorite game to 3DS, you guessed it, the original Xenoblade Chronicles. My Games of the decade are #1-Xenoblade Chronicles #2-Xenoblade Chronicles X #3 Zelda Breath of the Wild #4 Fire Emblem Awakening
Looks like the author and I have similar tastes I just put this game #4 instead of #1
@Expa0 I agree with you, except that those 2 games are too dated. I want Microsoft to either remake Banjo Kazooie and Diddy Kong Racing on the Switch or allow another dev team to remake them. I have strong nostalgia for N64 games, but I bought DK64 on Wii U and it's not what I remembered so I'd rather have them remake it and deliver what I remember as opposed to reality.
@Dazza I realize that NOA forgot it in the Press Release, but we're all hoping that as soon as you guys realize that NOA messed up you'll update this article/poll by fixing it and add those games. That way anyone that comes here to see what all is new every week at least has a chance to see all the new games.
@StooBush I decided to wait based on my Hyrule Warriors experience. I bought Hyrule Warriors and LOVED IT, then I bought another Warriors game and it was fine, but I didn't enjoy it enough to play it a lot.
In other words, just in case it's like that, I'd hate for it to happen in reverse what if I would love Cadence, but I play Crypt first and say meh and then never play Cadence. TODAY I buy my first game of this type in Cadence of Hyrule...Hopefully I love it.
@Crono1973 It's not about people owning ANOTHER switch. It's about them buying another switch and then passing their old one to someone else who may also buy games. If they really do a Pro version and it includes features that appeal to me then I'll buy the Pro version and sell my launch Switch to someone that doesn't have a Switch and now they'll have another person buying Nintendo games and I'll still continue buying Nintendo games
My official prediction (not what I want just what I think will happen) Cheap Switch: 1-No rumble in Joy Con 2- No TV Dock 3-$229
Pro Switch: 1-Comes with a Pro Controller 2-64 GB of internal storage 3-$400
What I actually want Pro Switch: 1-128 GB internal (I've already used up the full 32GB on game save files alone so my 400 GB SD card isn't helping) 2-Compatible with Bluetooth headphones 3-Ditch the Bezel so that the same shape and size gives me a bigger screen 4-$400 *-Yes I'd love to see a faster processor and more RAM, but these 3 items are my priorities (I'd settle for 64 GB of internal, but you gotta give me the Bluetooth and the smaller bezel I am even ok with the screen being 720p I just want it a little bit bigger)
We still play Splatoon 2 several times a week (we played today & yesterday) i own 3 Switches for my family of 6 and we own 3 copies of the game. We LOVE playing together online!
I bought the DLC and my wife & kids have played, but I haven't yet...I will though
Do people still buy games for Wii U and 3DS (yes partially joking, but only partially as there are only 2 games left on Wii U that I'll ever want to play again and aren't in Switch I sold my Wii U and I haven't bought a single 3DS game since buying the better portable system)
@NinjaWaddleDee I think you should get Ys first and Octopath second. Ys already out on PS4 and I can tell you it's VERY IMMERSIVE and will get you sucked in.
@Agramonte @Dom Thanks for the pro tip on Ys VIII getting free DLC!!! Too Bad Nintendo Life seems to have forgotten about this game. I'm excited. I'll be getting Labo, Ys VIII, & Hyrule Warriors for sure. I'll also try the free trial of Dark Souls and if I like it I'll get that too.
@PhilKenSebben No problem glad I could help. I actually came to this page because I saw the sale and wanted to come read the review. After reading the review and some of the comments I just bought it myself so I figured I'd clue you in. There's a lot on sale right now.
I've never played this. When they do the demo test whatever they called it I'll give it a try. I don't care if it matches up graphically to what the PS4 can do. If that was important to me I would have bought a PS4. Instead, if it's really fun I'll buy it. If it's kind of fun I'll consider it.
If yes then I'll buy it. I owned it on Wii U and enjoyed it. Conquered the Story mode but I never had a chance to get into the other stuff and never bought the DLC so I'm sure my son and I will have plenty of fun with it.
I haven't purchased a 3DS game since the October 2016 initial reveal of the Switch. However, I'm now considering Radiant Historia.
Can you guys tell me a little more about it. I read about the story and the time travel and that is VERY appealing to me, but I don't normally enjoy RPGs with simple select your move turn based combat. I need something a little more. I LOVED Xenoblade Chronicles which has a lot of selecting your move, but there was a lot of strategy in it and there was some real time aspects too. Is it at all like that or is it more like Earthbound? (I quit several hours into Earthbound because even though the story was fun the combat bored me to tears)
@Anti-Matter You're wrong, I do understand the wackiness of Nintendo and I understand that they might do something super crazy cool that's beyond anything I could have imagined (that's more on the awesome side of my scale) I also know they sometimes take a dump (see Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, Wii Music, Game & Wario, or Mario Party 10). I'm just saying, until I know more about the software I won't know if I'll feel like it is or is not overpriced. I'm excited to learn more about their software.
@Snakesglowcaps Yes, I know exactly what it will cost. I even know that with my Best Buy Gamer's club unlocked it'll be $56 & $64. What we don't know is how good the software is. Is the piano one just enough coding to play the notes as I push them, or are there awesome games that teach you how to play the piano? Is the fishing pole a super simplified game of catch a fish, or is it a fully fleshed out fishing game all by itself? Is the motorcycle game just a driving sim or is it a crazy cool biker club game? What the heck is that house thing? Is the robot game just Project Giant Robot or is it a fully fledged 70 hour JRPG. We just have no idea what the software is going to be. At the shallow end of those scenarios I'd say it's WAY OVERPRICED and there's no way I'm buying it. At the deep end I'd say there's no way I'm not buying it...I'm assuming it'll fall somewhere inbetween?!?
@Snakesglowcaps Wii Fit was also overpriced ($100) and it sold 44.5 million copies (22 million for Wii Fit and 22 Million for Wii Fit Plus).
I agree this is overpriced (although with the amount we currently know that's just a guess), even if you call it $60 for the software and $20 for the cardboard, but that doesn't mean it won't sell like CRAZY! And that doesn't mean it won't continue to push Switch sales like CRAZY
The ONLY reason 3DS didn't sell better last Christmas is that it was SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE.
That being said, I love that people are still buying 3DS/2DS, but I'm hoping this doesn't convince Nintendo to make more 3DS games. If there are a few games that they've almost completed then yes by all means finish them, but let's get all teams working on Switch games ASAP.
@thesilverbrick I agree with you, but I don't. I'm also hoping it's postponed indefinitely as I don't want to pay for it. However, when the day comes that I either have to quit having family Splatoon sessions or pay $60 I'll pay $60 so that the 3 of us can keep playing together. If not for Splatoon I'd be with you. I play Mario Kart online every once in awhile, but not enough to justify it.
@thesilverbrick I'm with you. I own 3 Switches 1 for me 1 for my wife and 1 for my kids and it's hard to imagine a scenario where I'll prefer to pay the fee 3 times more than get the current minimal service for free. There's no voice chat baked in: i know, but I have apps on my phone that will let me chat with my friends while I play and my speaker is super loud. What about online multiplayer NES and SNES (I'm not excited about going back to when 2-player meant taking turns handing the controller back and forth and SNES Super Mario Kart doesn't hold up well at all)
@jruasap @bstoppel @jbrewer99 @crackafreeze I've never played an Ys game, but it looked really cool. Will have have any problems just jumping in here with VIII?
@Reignmaker Xenoblade 2 isn't bad in handheld. I played it for a long time yesterday in handheld while they replaced my windshield. It was a lower resolution, but it didn't look bad

@Zach777 I'd like to know the same thing. Thursday new games are usually up between 9 & 10 am (MST), but now it's almost 11am and still no Cadence.
