@Ratmasterd21 I don't get how Deathloop is overrated. it sits at an 88 on metacritc which is line with most of arkane games. BOTW is highly praised and yet it wouldnt be fair to say it's overrated.

@Savage_Joe It didn't bother me much. As someone who has had a year of hearing my favorite movie Black Panther only got praise because of wokeness, it's still the same crap I hear all year from people who think media featuring non white people aren't worthy of any praise.

Just look at the the nominee for goty and how people were going to jump all over it that it only won because the two leads were black.

@DK-Fan First off, I'm not a Nintendo fan in any form. Secondly I never claimed Nintendo didn't have a right to defend their products. I just pointed out despite piracy their sells have not been impacted at all. I evens stated I wasn't for piracy. Maybe stop being a loyal vacuum?

@Damo Has their business actually been impacted? Despite piracy, switch games are selling just fine, in fact better than ever thanks to covid. I'm not pro piracy but it's not the huge threat most people think it is. It's much easier and safer to just buy a legit copy of the game. The average user isn't going to take time and go through the steps of hacking their switch.

@Axecon Well given Nintendo's rate of moving one step at a time while the rest of worlds already 10 steps ahead, I reckon we will get such a policy in about 10 or 20 years.

@sanderev The comparisons is fair. The switch and steamdeck are both handheld hybrids dedicated to gaming.

I'm not seeing the hyper realism people are talking about here. To me it just looks like a very detailed painting. Sorta like a vivid oil painting? "Realistic" is exaggerating things abit.

Sure in some spots it's look odd, but still impressive overall.

@Meteoroid I'm not even bashing them. Being truly original is hard; It's even harder when you are trying to make AAA and not want it to fail. That's why I said being unoriginal isn't always a bad thing. You can be unoriginal yet still make something good. Just look at Marvel movies.

Hopefully it's not another dark medieval European setting. I would love to explore something different vs the default setting alot of studios go for.

@Meteoroid Being unoriginal isn't always a bad thing, it's just a meh thing. I'm personally not looking forward it because the dark fantasy setting is generic to me.

@Dr_Lugae Well, Christian Whitehead started life making fan games and he went on to make a Sonic Game not only on equal footing to the originals, but better than any Sonic game Sega had produced in past 2 decades.

@Sam_TSM People put Kojima up as this grand visionary storyteller. I just see him as a guy who just writes the first "cool" idea that pops in his head. He now wants to make movies which is weird. He should be careful moving into the movie genre as movies critics are not as kind as game critics.

@T317 If Nintendo didn't have such hostile relationship with emulation, we would have had such thing as a true remaster. instead we get games like Super Mario 3D All-Stars. A half hearted port of three flagship titles.

@Savage_Joe Correct. Ps2 may have the been the weakest but the DVD playback feature gave it the biggest advantage.

@CovidBarbie Well actually if wasn't for bad pricing, porting these games would be a much better solution. Even better to emulate them. Hardware dies over time and as such if wasn't for the overpricing, it is it a great way to keep old games from becoming one day unplayable due to lack of hardware.

I don't want any of these games to get a port. They will have the bare minimum done, nothing worthwhile added and be charged full price as if they were new. Bonus will be an amiibo with a worthless feature for an additional 29.99$

@BAN Eh, what you are reading is what we call "criticism" which does not equal being butthurt. If you wish to follow Miyamoto's wisdom wihtout question then by all means do so.

However, sometimes even people we admire are prone to making a bad decision. Miyamato has done so quite a few times.

Wow, I can't believe people are still upset with Nintendo despite a commenter already pointing out that the artist and his friend having taking Nintendo's side on the issue and agree with their stance. They are fine with it and ya'll still angry with Nintendo.

@BloodNinja Well to be fair here, you are being a bit defensive over game that you haven't played yet assume it will be good based on your personal tastes.

By time the patches roll out this game will be all but forgotten by a few.

@Outlander999 First impressions is a thing that you only get once. This game failed it. Nothing left for them to do but patch it and hope for the best.

BOTW was the first time in the series where I honestly didn't have the willpower to even try to replay it.

It's just too much to 100%. It doesn't help that the plot takes dip and isn't as memorable imo as other titles. Ganon was ultimately a let down in terms of difficulty and characterization.

@ChromaticDracula The article is not the main issue imo. It's the headline. It's intentionally giving the impression a legit copy of the game is broken.

It would be like making a headline that said "Massive graveyard of bodies found dead due to a disease" Naturally, people are going to think there is a virus going around only to fully read an article that says "A massive graveyard of crows were found dead to a deadly disease while one person was found dead due to a heart attack."

@Ambassador_Kong There is YouTuber by the name of Angry Joe (Not a fan). He wanted to mass produce a board game using characters from street fighter. He, unlike the guy in the article went through the proper channels and was granted permission by Capcom. The board game is his original idea, but the characters aren't which is why he went through proper channels to secure rights to use them.

I could care less if this was a side hustle, but the artist in the article wanted to start his own brand using someone's else IP.

@Xiovanni Again, im fine if he was doing this as a commission thing, but he was trying to start a line of merchandise by using already owned IP's. The artwork is his original idea, the characters the artwork are based on however isn't.

I'm sure you'd do the same thing if you found someone was making millions based on your creation while you were getting nothing out of it.

All the people defending him, would do the same thing Nintendo did if they found their creations were being profited by others without their knowledge.

Heck, I'm positive the artist himself would do the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot.

Normally I'd be on the side of the artist, but in this case what Nintendo did was perfectly fine. It's one thing doing out the kindness of your heart for free, it's another to start a line of merchandise using someone's work without giving them a percentage of it.

If this guy was doing it for fun I'd be fine with it, if he was taking commissions, that would be ok too. However I am pretty sure this guy being an artist himself was well aware of what was going to happen, and there's a high possibility it was for clout.

I don't believe he was that naive enough to start this campaign thinking Nintendo would be ok with it.

@Flashlink99 I know it's fun to pretend the switch is a super powerful console. But here in reality it's not. Too many third party games have to make significant sacrifices to graphics just to maintain a stable fps.

Sega, is to blame for why Sonic lost. No one told the company to add so many ridiculous gimmicks and ideas. Who's idea was it to release Sonic 2006 in a such a poor state? Sega

Who's idea was it to copy Mario spinoff's but replace them with Sonic? E.g. Tennis, Racing, Etc... Sega

Who's idea was it to release a Sonic game with a crappy character creator attached? Sega

At the end of the day everything wrong with Sonic is due to Sega's terrible decision making. They set up Sonic to fail and as result fans don't hold any high hopes for a good entry anymore.

As long it's passes for mediocre that's good enough. That's how low the bar has become.

@Dafirelive Dang boy calm down. Rather you want to admit it or not Sega has done a poor job with handling Sonic. The quality is all over the place, and many of 3d games have received mixed to average scores.

Sorry bud but the fact Colors and Generations are considered the best of 3d titles, just points how bad many of the previous games were.

@Zyph Really? I found the story to be everything I dislike about anime dialed up to 11.

Fun game for a couple of play throughs, but then becomes repetitive. Also the story was a mess. But the combat made up for it.
