It's like you guys want this to be taken down and Archive and Retromags hit by Nintendo's laywers. You know how Nintendo is about this stuff but you still have to bring it to their attention, don't you?

I was convinced it was going to be Master Chief. The timing is perfect with the new game coming out and it would be a good marketing move by Microsoft and a good sum of cash for Nintendo.

Looks like a lot of nothing.

@Chris77 if you don't know gaming history then it's a fine series. But if you've read up on it and grew up in it and engaged with it then you can see all sorts of holes ithe story and how they massaged things to tell the story they wanted.

@Chris77 High Score was very selective in its storytelling. It left a lot of things out and put too much emphasis on certain things. EA did not turn the tide for Sega with their sports games.

@Tasuki North Americas is actually just the US version. Canada has the Europe box art with the Genesis logo. Up until 1993 I think, barring some exceptions.

@gcunit The Canadian release has the same box art as the Europe version with the Genesis logo instead of Mega Drive, which still cuts across his nose

The box art you have for North America is actually just for the United States. The Box art for Canada is the same as Europe, with the Mega Drive logo replaced by the Genesis logo and a different bar code on the back.

@apoqalypse That is not how free speech works. Free speech only covers criticism to wards the government. It doesn't allow you to say anything you want on any subject you want or about anyone you want. And it certainly does not allow you to give out trade secrets.

@PBandSmelly it may not be the next fighter, but one of the last remaining DLC fighters will be Master Chief. I have a hunch. But who I really want is Bonk.

If reviews were concise and to the point, then there might not be a need for scores. But as long as reviews are written like they are dissertations, being overly wordy and rambling on and on when they don't need to, then the scores need to stay. I don't always have time or feel like reading an excessively long review to find out if the reviewer liked the game. I know how to use the scores based on the game and genre it's being awarded to. A Street Fighter-type game getting 9/10 is meaningless to me because I don't like those games. So whether it gets 2/10 or 9/10, it won't change how much I like the game, nor will I compare it to a platformer with a similar score and decide which one is better because they are two completely different games.

And no Bonk. That for me is disappointing even though everything else is great. I was hoping to have a three way fight between Bonk, Mario and Sonic; a Smash Bros. 16-Bit Console War battle.

Was the pre-order date ever announced? I searched for info on Monday and found nothing. Then Tuesday they go live.

@ThanosReXXX The modder is probably American, so the European case has no meaning or relevance to him. This thing is about nostalgia, and North Americans have no nostalgia for the model that was released outside of North America. I like the version he used because it's the one I had growing up. The case for Europe and the rest of the world means nothing to me.

@alasdair91 yes they can. They have oodles of money. They are still making a profit, even if it is 't as much as it used to be. Better to wait and have a good launch lineup rather than push the machine out for Christmas with nothing to play.

The Super NES launched in the summer of 1991 and it was very successful.

HD Versions of the four Genesis games would be nice. Exact same gameplay, but updated visuals. And real updated visuals: everything redrawn and looking crisp, not like that smudge job they did in the Ultimate Genesis Colelction several years back. HD audio as well. Same sounds, but up to date. Heck they can even include Sonic 3D Blast as well. I enjoyed that game and it had some awesome music.

Does this only happen when playing on a emulator, or did it happen on the NES as well? If it's emulator only then it's not really a big deal.

Rayman would be great, but they still need to make Bonk a roster member! The characters they could add are endless.

@Iggly We don't. It's just a regular sales. Some stores did a black Friday sale last month around thanksgiving, and again it was just a regular sale. The crazy black Friday style prices don't happen until boxing day, and those don't even match black Friday prices in the U.S.

Their packaging is so much more interesting than what we get in North America.

The fact that the game is actually called "Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS " is disappointing.

Hopefully they change the name when it gets here. New Nintendo 3DS will be confusing for some people. Super Nintnendo 3DS would make things clearer for people.

I agree with them. Brand names don't exist in the Mario universe.

@unrandomsam Not if you lived in the NTSC region. To me it is and always will be the Genesis.

@SockoMario Of course. I don't care about some torn down minor character. I'd rather see a character that was iconic during the golden age of gaming. Hell, Aero the Acrobat or Bubsy would be better than some F-Zero racer.

The toys are really disappointing. I was hoping they would be like the awesome pullback cars they had for the Muppet Babies and McDonaldland toys way back when. Instead these are crap plastic toys with wheels that sort of roll?
