Re: Prince Of Persia Is Back With Brand New Title, Out January 2024 On Switch

FIlbert

@Noxide Knowing how unfortunate advertising and advertising briefs can be, if marketing decided to use rap, they likely had a very simplistic targeted audience in mind sometimes in the worst ways.

The original Prince of Persia had what resembled hair or farbtic wrap around his head…and in the box art/illustrations, a piece of fabric wrapped around his head with a piece of scarf tying in together and the top.

Think Disney’s Aladdin, flying with Princess Jasmine.

Re: Prince Of Persia Is Back With Brand New Title, Out January 2024 On Switch

FIlbert

What’s with the Prince’s new look? He looks like a prince from another continent…. 🧐

Controversy and artistic liberty aside, the game looks like another generic Ubisoft game. I couldn’t tell if it was an Immortal Fenyix sequel or not…..

Tell me when it goes on sale 2 months after launch. I may consider the game then 😂

Re: Rumour: Universal Closing "Big Deal" With Nintendo For Zelda Illumination Movie

FIlbert

Are we going to get a Wind Waker or Tears of The Kingdom Zelda? I would be game if they literally do a Wind Waker/Link’s Awakening Remake style one. I just can’t see them making anything above PG13. A Castlevenia-anime style Zelda is out of the question… and several monsters in TOTK will leave kids scared with nightmares.

@Knightrider1 Nintendo is too scared for a life action film after the first Mario film.

Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo Squeeze Another Zelda Game Out Of TOTK's Open World?

FIlbert

Underwater.

There has to be a reason why we can’t do something as simple as that when we can fly however we like in these 2 games. Are you telling me they haven’t thought of adding that to BOTW or TOTK? Perhaps a Wind Waker-like/Phantom Hour Glass-like game. Please make it a new world, unless some flood can make a new version of Hyrule beyond our recognition.

If not, Nintendo has the game engine to make another Hyrule quickly. The physics, code etc. are all there already. Plus, aren’t they basing TOTK on the Splatoon engine? Change some parameters, add a fresh design, gameplay, story and characters.I don’t see why they need another 6 years for an open world Zelda game.

Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Straight Up Fails In Just One Respect: Accessibility

FIlbert

Let’s be honest, the joycons themselves are inaccessible in their own right for some. They are tiny and rigid etc. Motion control isn’t for everyone either…even if they are updated to not require that (I am looking at you Skyward Sword).

Aside button mapping, Nintendo (and really the whole industy) should partner or contribute to accessible inputs companies to provide some form of standard for linking their games to any accessible devices.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom New Item Duplication Glitch Discovered

FIlbert

Nintendo should just leave these “glitches” in the game.

Frankly, I wish Nintendo had implemented a difficulty setting for TOTK. It is harder than BOTW for many I’ve talked to (casual to expert players alike). Not everyone has the time, skill and/or patience to grind. If a player want to enjoy the story or crafting zonai mechas more, please provide options for that.

As an aside, the regional phenomenons ARE dungeons no matter what people whine about. 😂 Some of the shrines even have keys players need to find. If people want to be locked away till they can get out, may I suggest escape rooms in real life? 😄

Re: Pokémon Studio Game Freak Is Partnering With Private Division On 'Project Bloom'

FIlbert

While I am excited and look forward to whether Game Freak’s new game is another Pocket Jockey, or similar calibre….

I am tired of Game Freak. Their reluctance to put in any effort on the mainline Pokémon games is quickly loosing any respect for them.

They already contracted off the Pokémon remakes. (I am still annoyed with the pixel REMASTER of Pokémon Pearl and Diamond). They have so much time already with 3D Pokémon games and still they gave us Scarlet and Violet.

They sit on all the resources in the world and keep ignoring their main game. Sure, branch off and make new IP, but not at the expense of making a good Pokémon game.

Notice, Nintendo is staying away from publishing their new game after their horrible release of My Little Town Hero’s….

Re: Nintendo Teases Gacha Mechanics In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

FIlbert

@Hydra_Spectre I was just thinking of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 too. However, I would say in Tears of the Kingdom, this gotcha mechanic looks out of place. I don’t really think the Zonai did that for new products I hope. At least in Xenoblade, there was a story reason whether you liked the mechanic or not.

Re: Hori Unveils Five New Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Products

FIlbert

@Dom_31 Actually….as someone who has had the 8bitdos, all forms of split “pro controller”-like joycon replacements, multiple joycons and pro controllers…….the Hori Split Pad Compact/Slim is the one I use for portable gaming. Sure, you miss out the amiibo functionality, gyro, Bluetooth and vibration, but for attached joycon style portable gaming, these are the one I use. I find it the most comfortable in my hands for long play sessions without giving up too much of everything else. I play in bed before sleep so I don’t need to be swinging my Switch around. That said, I wouldn’t recommend any joy-con replacements without gyro for TOTK.

As for the pro controller, I ditched that thing for the 8bitdo Ultimate for a while now… it puts the pro to shame.

Re: Poll: Would You Pay $70 For The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

FIlbert

@KalamStrifeVII If TOTK is really 90 CAD, I hope this is a one-off cause it’s BOTW’s sequel. But if Nintendo apply the increased price tag to every upcoming major new game, I am certain software sales will go down across the board.

I was considering but didn’t get any Mario sports game, and I am glad given how lacking they are. If they were launched with the increased price, they would be DOA for me. I just don’t like Mario that much. 😝😝

Re: Random: Fans Create 'Nuzlocke-Style' Mode For Animal Crossing: New Horizons

FIlbert

@SlowPokemon Congrats! Yes you have. But for majority of players, it was about rushing to gain millions of bells through the online turnip market, completing their catalogue with Nookazon and time travel just so they can design their dream islands.

If it isn’t for that, not as many would have gotten bored even with the 2.0 update and moan about the lack of furnitures and stuff to do. Everyone rushed to the end and forgot ACNH is much about the journey.

With the rise of Treasure Islands, the content creation community tried modding as a way to keep making content to only get the Big N after some of them. With the “hard’ more, they have found a new way to create a continuous stream of new content… when they could have just played the game as it was designed from the get go.

But then how would one create all those design videos to showcase all the themes everyone was making? 😁

Re: Nintendo Minute Videos Are Being Set To Private On Nintendo's YouTube Channel

FIlbert

What’s with the venom some have for Kit and Krysta?

Or YouTubers you may not follow in general? Seems like some are still stuck in the Gamergate era or something.

Just as there are as many YouTube channels, there are as many different Nintendo focused YouTubers catering to different segments of the gaming community. Just because some didn’t resonate with you does not mean they didn’t with others. There are definitely some YouTubers I never got the appeal of with huge followings, and there are those I have been a loyal fan since I first came across of them even if they have only thousands of followers.

We are all speculating here why Nintendo decided to shelf some of the Nintendo Minute videos. Who knows? It could purely be about how the company didn’t like something an interviewee said, or a game they want to erase from public consciousness.

Trashing anyone just cause only shows who you really are.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Leads Nintendo's Nominations At The Game Awards 2022

FIlbert

Here is hoping XC3 win the Best RPG award of the year at least, especially when Live A Live is a remake, Triangle Strategy is a little too niche, LOA as being half baked, and Elden Ring for being too “big” for the category.

But then they may have slotted Elden Ring for Best RPG as a consolation award for not winning Best GOTY, which will go to God of War or Horizons.

Re: Disco Elysium Creators Clash With Studio Owners Over Dismissal

FIlbert

@fenlix It is likely money, and more importantly power, control and influence. Having made Disco Elysium, the creators now earned their badge as bonifide top tier game developers in their own right with, or without the company. This sort of thing often lead to conflicts with employers, pay and ownership of the game and intellectual property etc.

Hope this will sort out without too much bad blood being spilled all around. The courts will deal with it.

*****

As an aside, I would like to be informed of these issues. As a gamer, I would like to know my monetary support to a game isn’t being abused and going to assist deserving game creators and developers.

Re: Bayonetta 3 Dev Responds To Voice Actor Dispute In Official Statement

FIlbert

What really baffles me is how people are so easily to dismiss a VA because they aren’t their “A-Tier” as to believe a journalist based solely on reputation.

Until we get the actual facts, and not just hearsay “receipts” from both parities, we don’t know what really went on. And as I said above, neither sides will hold up in court.

Re: Bayonetta 3 Dev Responds To Voice Actor Dispute In Official Statement

FIlbert

@Tangerine Actually, we still don’t know the facts. What Jennifer Hale stated (and now supported by Platinum) speaks nothing of the actual situation.

This isn’t cancel culture. And to assume that one side is “right” at this time is just as biased. Neither side has provided evidence to support their claims. They will both loose in court.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of No Man's Sky On Switch

FIlbert

The most recent NMS update just came out yesterday. It has resolved some of the graphic issues I had since launch. I am sure DF was analyzing an earlier build given the timing.

The developers have been very responsive to Switch issues I have reported. I hope they continue to work out the kinks. Perhaps DF can do another analysis further down.

Re: No Man's Sky Waypoint Update Is Now Live On Switch

FIlbert

@WallyWest I have been to many stations, just couldn’t talk to those people for some strange reasons in the stands. Haha

@5th313ment haha I guess I have been trying to find a paradise planet for my first base that I haven’t really followed the story yet 😉 but I guess I will do that now.

Re: Review: No Man's Sky - Right Up There With The Very Best Switch Ports

FIlbert

@Draxa The textures don’t bother me really. It just shocks me once in a while when I get to see the full textures pop up. Handheld has been a great experience. I do feel like I am playing Star Trek jumping from one system to another. I have quite a collection of exotic companions now. I wish there will be cross-saves at some point. These are the few times I really can see how a Switch 2/pro can further enhance a really good game.

Re: No Man's Sky Waypoint Update Is Now Live On Switch

FIlbert

@WallyWest Thanks for the reminder. That’s true of the exosuit. I don’t suppose my squadron and ships are immune too? Though I may not die, I wouldn’t want to be too slow and weak during fights.

I haven’t seen those stands with the maps you mentioned by the Portals. Are there conditions I have to meet? Thanks!

Re: No Man's Sky Waypoint Update Is Now Live On Switch

FIlbert

So could someone tell me what just happened? I purchased the launch version and updated to 4.02 yesterday, and now hell broke loose.

Most of my exosuit upgrades are removed to only 14 of them. Are we supposed to update our exosuit every time there is a change in weather or environmental change?

That’s not exactly what I want to be doing when I play creative…
