Re: Nintendo Teams Up With Christina Aguilera For Latest Switch Commercial

FIlbert

Christina was one of the judges on The Voice, loads of kids know who she is. Plus she has one of the most amazing voices whether you like her songs or not. I would say only Ariana Grande can compete in vocal ranges. They are in the league of Mariah Carey.

The people who liked Christina back in the day are likely parents now like her or soon to be. She is exactly what Nintendo needs to target the over 30+ audience….which consists of more than double the demographic of children and teenage Switch players. Switch players are mostly over 20.

Just checked YouTube, she has a new Spanish song out 2 weeks ago and has over 13 million views already.

Re: Apple Made More Profit From Games In 2019 Than Nintendo, Sony And Microsoft Combined

FIlbert

@Nanoline52 First, let us be clear about why and how Apple could right out ban Epic from being on the AppStore for 5 years after the verdict. Epic first violated their developer contract with Apple by forcing their own payment system which led to being kicked out of the AppStore. At that point, Epic has already lost their developer status because of their violation. This, as we all know, is what led to the legal case.

Even after the legal verdict in favour of Epic, that didn’t change the fact that they DID violate their developer contract with Apple, and thus loosing their privileges to sell through the AppStore.

The court did not require Apple to void all their current contracts or reinstate Epic back into the AppStore. It was stated anyone who violated the developer contract are not allowed to be back on the AppStore for 5 years. Apple did not make an example of Epic or was petty specifically to them. Apple did what their own developer contracted stated…..which Epic agreed and signed at the time. Epic is not the first developer nor the last developer to be banned.

Re: Now, This Is What Next-Gen Pokémon Should Look Like

FIlbert

@Dafirelive Pokemon may have been a kids thing 20 years ago, but I don’t think defending Game Freak and The Pokemon Company by saying Pokemon is only a children’s thing today is valid anymore.

We have Pokémon Go, Unite, Masters etc…, which all requires micro transactions to survive as games. Until the day a 7 yo can have a credit card, I don’t think Pokemon is for only children anymore. Not to mention all the adult sized dress shirts and ties with Pokémon prints on them… Guess TPC is branding Pokemon for children only.

Re: Fortnite's 'Rainbow Royale' Celebrates LGBTQ+ Community With Music And Rainbows

FIlbert

This is great and all … but it stinks of the usual disingenuous corporate PR and marketing when it comes to supporting the LGBTQ+ community or most causes. Lip service for a feel good photo-op with little substance.

As a community member, first, we don’t all like rainbows. In fact, they are missing several color combinations if they really were supportive of the community….just saying. Don’t think they did their homework.

And instead of just providing us rainbows and music by LGBTQ+ artists, they could have made a better contribution by donating Fortnite profits during this time to worthy LGBTQ+ community organizations or causes.

Re: Shantae Developer WayForward Is Making Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp

FIlbert

I am glad I am not the only one. Loved the original Advanced Wars, and when I saw the reveal I knew something was off with this “Nintendo” game. Love Wayfoward but this art style is a major miss. It’s all over the place.

The 2D and 3D graphics don’t mix well if at all. Some of the 2D characters can use some tightening up or consistency. And the low quality 3D makes the game looks like one of those mobile games cluttering the eShop.

I hope this is just a work in progress. Else this is a big miss in any hope of really reviving the franchise. Advanced Wars was sleek with a strong visual identity without looking like a game for toddlers or the first Toy Story.

Re: Video: Pokémon Fan Reimagines The Diamond And Pearl Remakes As Full 3D Games

FIlbert

@Dethmunk Normally, there aren’t any problems with 3D chibi art styles. They can be very well done like the Link’s Awakening remake. However, with the last official Pokemon game, Sword and Shield, GameFreak already gave us the Pokémon art style of THIS Gen.

Historically, with each new Pokémon game remake, that remake takes on the art style of that current Gen. Instead of building on Sword and Shield and improves on it, fans are now given a B rated mobile looking game out of nowhere. Even the last remake, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, with its 3DS graphics, looks better than this remake.

Yes, GameFreak and the Pokémon Company can do whatever they want. What most likely happened was any work done for the initial Diamond and Pearl remake have been shifted to be part of Legends. The art style of Legends looks exactly like Sword and Shield, with a slight faded palette change. The 3D models look the same. It’s no coincidence Legends is based in Sinnoh either. It may have been part of the original remake or the likely Arceus based plot line that may have been added to the remakes.

The point is, imagine if Breathe of the Wild 2 looks exactly like a chibi top-down Zelda game. This is the type of shock to some Pokémon fans I think. At least it was for me initially.

The greater problem is this, Pokemon and really Nintendo (by way of Mario Party and Animal Crossing for example) have been giving us unfinished or half finished games. Many features in past games are missing, and when some of these features are added later on, they are marketed as free updates. When I pay full price for a game, I expect to have a finished game. It’s not that fans are being entitled or spoiled, but if we look at the problems with each of these games, we will find missing past features to be a big one.

By the way, the trailer looks amazing. Only thing I would be curious is how they would animate the battles with such dynamism when the battle system is so turn based.

Re: Rumour: Get That Salt Ready, Apple Is Reportedly Working On A Nintendo Switch-Style Hybrid Console

FIlbert

This has the potential to be a game changer if done right. Apple essentially can make the PS portable that Sony never made. Imagine, iPhone/iPad mini sized device with capability to run most current gen games if not all. Oh and one more thing, it can be priced at 100$ more than your PS5 or Xbox X….that’s because macOS /iosOS comes with it and you can do all your computer stuff on it too.
