I think the best and worse thing about the eshop from a business viewpoint is the fact you can't buy ad space or get special treatment by spending money. Great for indies but not so great for AAA wanting to hog the store front.
I love Transformers and while i'm worried about the inclusion of the Bayverse into the War/Fall of Cybertron series i'll be picking this up day 1 for Wii U if the port holds up and it has asynchronous or local MP via the gamepad, i'll likely get the 3DS version too if it turns out well as it sounds interesting.
@AcridSkull @unrandomsam @Ninhau My bad I didnt read it as NA just as US for some reason, I need more coffee. Didn't mean to offen anyone, FYI English is my second language and nothing I said was racist, but I'll edit it anyway.
Since no one knows anything about the terms or financial side of the deal its impossible to say if this was a good or bad decision. There are 100 things to consider when making a business deal.
Also if Nintendo were really kicking themselves they would just buy them, they are only worth 2 Billion and their actual yearly revenue is obviously nowhere near that, once you restrict that revenue to just Nintendo consoles and toys its a lot less.
I'm really surprised 3rd Robot War Z didn't boost Vita & PS3 numbers more, the way my GFs sister has been talking about the hype for it over there you'd think it was the second coming of Christ Lol. Still it looks awesome and its a shame it will never be localised so I can understand it .
Oh and ouch at those Wii U and PS4 numbers.
Polygon recently done a friends list about what Sony can do to save the Vita, abit sensationalist but funny thing is the piece would be exactly the same if you replace Sony with Nintendo and vita with Wii U.
Wondercon is not that big on games, why would there be any special announcements or loads of games to play there?
People got all angry and insulting about the Pax East non-attendance and that event turned out to be a snore fest (unless your an indie dev networking) with lots of others also skipping it. I'm sure most of you don't go to conventions so dont understand the point of them. Attending a convention and sitting at home waiting for announcements and news to leak are total different things. Most people don't go for news or 2 mins of game playtime etc, its the whole experience of the convention and the people you meet.
That's said London comic con is next month and Im sure there will be some official or unoffical Nintendo shenanigans going on to make it a fun event as always.

@smikey I was watching this very close as i had a bet on it, at the last minute they got two very generous pledges of 8k and one for 2.5k. In any case i'm glad another game is making its way to Wii U.
I also hope Hex Heroes gets it funding, i'm not to bothered about Cult Country as it will be coming with or without kickstarter.
This was actually the best direct i've seen in like forever. However we do need another direct with a broadcast for summer releases. We're now in Q2 so it would be nice for a summer update to tide us over until E3 in two months.
@LetsGoRetro 1. Smash has never been a console seller, by itself it cant save anything 2. You assume everyone already has a 3DS and will only buy that version 3. You assume people would have opted for the Wii U version instead of the 3DS version on joint release 4. You assume people will want the portable experience over the established home version 5. You assume that Smash is the only game influencing people to pick up a Wii U 6. You assume the games won't be distinct enough experiences or include some feature to encourage gamers to buy both
People need to stop thinking the future of the Wii U hinges on every 1st party release, the same silly stuff has been said about every major release so far, its getting old.
Also the 3DS version was obviously easier to make so would be completed first, your asking them to pull a Rayman legends even though they own both consoles just on the off chance a few thousand more Wii U's might be sold? That's ridiculous.
That's 11million sold on an 100million install base. Even if the Wii U version was exclusive and sold 5 million more Wii U's that would be a drop in the ocean. 3DS hardware and software is more profitable than the Wii U due to hardware and manufacturing costs so Nintendo will make way more money this way and thus channel said money back into there games and systems.
Trust me people smarter than all you arm chair analysts go over this stuff with fine combs before we even hear about it.
@Superiorspider Yes they were, they just didn't have a stage show and instead had a pretty sweet play, info area set-up and gave their news via a direct type set up.
@GamerGleek47 You realize we are currently on 4 right? That post was by a consultant at Namco Bandai and implied the sequel would be here by the end of next year which would mean they are working on 4,5(3DS version) and 6 at the same time. I expect it was a mistake on several levels, In any case wait until the direct tonight for solid info and not rumours.
@polarbear To be fair NL has covered Earthlock a few times already, but yeah they should add it even though its very unlikely to be funded in the next 5 days (again).
@Yellowtails A dedicated direct in early April for a game releasing in 2015? That's stupid and not really inline with Nintendo's past practice. Even the most loyal of fans would get pissed at that. Still you never know....
@rjejr That Mecha Wars game was a straight knock off so the mechanics are near identical to the later advanced wars games. If you liked it you will like the advance wars series but bare in mind this is an old game and Mecha Wars cloned the latest and arguably improved versions.
@Nintenjoe64 Edit Never mind cleared up In your reply.
After watching the first trailer it was obvious there would be no track editor. Mod Nation and LBPs tracks were very basic and modular so it allowed the Devs to make good player friendly creation tools. These games were clearly built from the ground up with this intention and IMO the gameplay and polish was the trade off.
Someone on Neogaf claiming to be an intern stated a while back that the gamepad can be used for five player local only in battlemode. He actually got a lot of things right so I'm wondering if he was telling the truth, unfourunatley he deleted the thread after being called a liar too many times.
@Datasun_7 Sure your taking the mick but for those reading who can't/don't read, both lists are not exhaustive. NL picked the highest profile games and made a list, there are a ton more Wii U and 3DS games on the way in the same time frame.
I'm interested to see how it will turn out, i expect a whole lot more now that its a full fledged console game. This could be a great or weak so i'll wait for the finished product before i part with my money.
Buying them all but I cant really pick which one I want most. I picked Bayo2 just because it was low. If it does t sell well Wii U gamers can give up hope on anymore big 3rd party games, so if your a Wii U owner you better pick it up.
Also people need to start reading the articles they are commenting on, no where in the article does it state that this is a comprehensive list of 2014 releases, I guess the title wasn't a big enough clue...
I think Wii U only kickstarters are a bad idea, most kickstarter money comes from pc owners. Hex looks neat but I doubt it will make the 80gs needed. This on the hand looks fairly standard so its good the funding goal is low.

I'll likely pick this up as Im a sucka for mecha.
Re: Miiverse Update Imposes Restrictions on Posting Comments
This isn't really a negative and most of us who use miiverse enough will welcome it.
Re: Possibility of SNES Remix and Other Remix Titles Depends on Fan Support
Sounds like they maybe working on NES Remix 3 atm then. Shame was hoping SNES Remix would be next.
Time to flood miiverse with remix requests then .

Re: 3DS Release Added to Cult County's Core Kickstarter Target
Too little too late, i'll eat my hat if this gets funded. People won't pony up for a 3DS version when thats what they were expecting from the start.
RG messed up, they should have released Treasurenaughts to build some some more rep/faith before kick starting such a high cost project.

Every series gets one offering per console afaik so i doubt its a sequel of "New" or "3D" on 3DS or Wii U. Paper Mario U perhaps?
Re: Shaq Fu Reboot Developers Considering Console Support Without Stretch Goals
I don't like indiegogo they keep any money pledged even if they don't have anywhere near enough to make the actual game.

That midriff had to go for sure, the other changes are debatable. In any case the gameplay will be the determining factor for me.

This isn't 100% accurate but look at the past Smash bros sales, then look at the consoles sold and their attachment rate.
