Re: Stats Suggest That UK Kids Are More Likely To Game On A Tablet Than A Nintendo 3DS

Emblem

@Serebii This.

Also i wouldn't be suprised anyway, until you play 'real' games you dont know any better. A tablet is a low point of entry, they are open ended in utility and the games are cheap and plentiful. Kids can easily try 1000 games and spend less than a tenner, the quality of said games is moot as these children will not have experienced 'real' gaming and or not even appreciate it yet.

Re: Bayonetta 2 Director Eager to "Nurture" the Series With Nintendo Again in the Future

Emblem

@rjejr Doubt it, although Hyrule Warrors may get swallowed up by the Destiny and/or Smash 3ds hype as they are very close together.

Bayo2 (late Oct release) will likely get drowned out in the October AAA massacre: Dragon Age, Alien, Evolve, LOTR,Smash 3DS, Sunset Overdrive, Ass Creed unity, Drive Cub, Fonza 2, Evil Within, NBA2k15, WWE2k15 and Battlefield are all releasing around the same time, its actually ridiculous.

Of course i'm talking about multi-console owners and not just Wii U owners. For them the choice will be easy since there is only one retail release per month.

Re: First Impressions: Taking Sonic Boom for a Spin on Wii U and 3DS

Emblem

Call me crazy but this looks like fun to me, Sonic is stale and the hardcore 2d fans don't realize his type of game has become endless runners and 3D Sonic has never lived up to expectations because Sonic as he was just didn't suit 3D. I'll give it a chance and form my own opinion, i used to love Sonic but time has not been good to him at all.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th June (Europe)

Emblem

@Blue-Thunder As i said other than the account transfer the system is the same as MS and Sony. They have an account system and it tracks every purchase you make and can be restored just the same. The difference is a 10-30 min phone call/email exchange as opposed to a 10-30sec self account transfer.

Don't get me wrong i'm all for it, i have so many harmonized eco-systems from steam to google chromecast/playbook etc and i love the ease that i can shuffle my accounts around. However i also know why Nintendo are hesitant to open it up when both Sony and MS have yet to find a counter to the exploits.

While you or i wouldn't share our accounts there are sites and forums that do this stuff on the daily and have been since inception, hell the biggest video game sites i visit have a communitys set up for it.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th June (Europe)

Emblem

@Blue-Thunder Nintendo do have an account system... since 2012 on Wii U and 2013 on 3DS. You cannot move the account between consoles without contacting Nintendo, other than that its the same as Psn or xboxlive albeit in its adolescence. Obviously this is a counter to the cloning account trick people have been using for years to replicate digital games on psn & xlive.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th June (Europe)

@WiiLovePeace One Piece retail is £30 at amazon for straw hat edition. I don't like the anime enough to watch more than a few EPs but ive played through all the OP games so far with my brother who is crazy about them and they are good as stand alones even if you dont like the anime or manga.

I expect average reviews from the press and amazing to terrible reviews from the OP fans much like the other unlimited world games. Check the gamefaqs forums as many people there are playing the Japanese version that released last week.

Re: Animal Crossing 'Clone', Castaway Paradise, Could Even Come to Wii U

Emblem

Why would Nintendo have an issue with it being on Wii U? They would see money from it and its shallow expierence would drive people to the real thing. Until Apple and Google get their crap together there's not much Deva can do when their IPs get cloned as court cases rarely make back the money they cost on these small time crooks.

Re: Review: How to Survive (Wii U eShop)

Emblem

@Action51 Tell me about it those steam sales are ruthless, i picked up Divinity OS (awesome btw) already after promising myself i wouldn't buy anymore games for a while since i already have One Piece & Transformers pre-ordered for next Friday.

Re: Review: How to Survive (Wii U eShop)

Emblem

@Action51 sorry different timezone . Medium and cramped area's depending where on the islands you are. Zombies, plants & animals (for food) repawn normal if you leave the area for about 10mins but on iron man only zombies do. Some loot is randon but key items are always in the same place. Its also a persistent world so if you drop a gun somewhere on an island its going to stay there until you pick it up again.

Re: Review: How to Survive (Wii U eShop)

Emblem

@Action51 There is also a Challenge mode consisting of 8 different challenges that can be played co-op. They are essentially remixes of the four islands with crazy themes like Zombie Zoo (All Animals) or Chainsaw combat. Each can be played on normal or iron man mode which is very hard.

Its far from perfect but imo its alot better than alot of the Eshop games that have been reviewed higher by this site. Check out Miiverse before you take the plunge and see what people are saying about it and make sure its for you.

Re: Don't Worry, Nintendo Hasn't Forgotten About The Virtual Console

Emblem

We get 1-2 games a week every week without fail so people can't complain about that. The things people seem to complain about is the lack of N64 games and less throwaway releases like the sports games.

Totally forgot about DS games incoming, if they have features better then the originals and the price is right I may pick some up dispite owning a 3DS.

Re: Nintendo Download: 19th June (Europe)

Emblem

Maybe monkey Pirates, looks like cheap multiplayer fun. Not sure about Pullbox yet as I'm not in a puzzle mood right now.

What happened to the How 2 Survive review? I got it day one and its a good port so I'm surprised no ones really speaking about it outside of Miiverse.

Re: Developers Weigh In On The Way Forward For Wii U

Emblem

@LEGENDnoONE I'll bite your troll bait, Sonic was actually the first console game with a level editor via debug mode that gave access to mod tools if memory serves.

Also LBP is a physics based platforming/puzzsolving game with extensive customisability and creation options. Mario is not physics based at all and Mario maker is clearly not about customisation but rather using a set amount of props to create interesting courses.

Re: E3 2014: Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., A Brand New IP, Unveiled for 3DS

Emblem

@Action51 One of the best games ever!!! I'm so upset i lost all my UMC on my old PC for both Freedom Forces .
The community for this game was amazing, X-men, transformers, thundercats, Matrix... you name it someone made models, skins, missions, arenas and special effects and you could import them into the awesome mechanics and settings in this game. The story and characters were also very well made, the devs decided to do City of heroes/villians instead of another sequel though unfortunatly.

Freedom Force X Valkria Chronicles made buy Miya & Intelligent Systems sounds like it will be awesome to me.

Re: E3 2014: Getting To Grips With Amiibo, Nintendo's Revolutionary Take On NFC Toys

Emblem

@Diddy_kong I think Nintendo understand this that's why this are additional extras for bonus modes and not vital components like Infinity and Skylanders. Nintendo fans are very vocal so i'm so if Nintendo overstep the mark somewhere there will be a poopoodoodoocacapoopledoopledoggiedoopstorm anyway lol.

Personally i'm going to get a few due to the workmanship of the models, i'm not to bothered about in game interaction at this point so i may not even take some out their cases.
Watch the profanity please — TBD

Re: E3 2014: Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., A Brand New IP, Unveiled for 3DS

Emblem

@Kirk I think you are out of touch with Nintendo not the other way around, take a good look at everything Nintendo has done in the last ten years (or even longer). They are catering for those who love Nintendo for being Nintendo they don't care about "most gamers", they have realized the PC,Sony & MS loyalists will either have Nintendo machines as a second console or not at all.

To that end they are creating games/experiences you can't find elsewhere and not replicating popular games. They are going for their niche and expanding when and where it suits them into new area's.

You need to look at what they are actually doing and decide if its for you. If not you need to move on and stop clinging to false hopes of what you want Nintendo to be.

For me i love each company/platforms for their own strengths, MS is for big budget western titles, Sony for big budget Japanese titles and no region lock for Japanese titles that never make it west. Nintendo is for creative, imaginative and straight up fun Japanese titles. And well my PC is for wrpgs, RTS,TBS and god sims etc.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Innovative E3 Approach is a Breath of a Fresh Air

Emblem

"As a team we've been a little divided over the approach of zooming out and showing the workings of the broadcast between segments, showing the camera operators and technicians rushing around between sets. "

I actually love this as i know if this was any other company the 60-90sec breaks would be filled with non relevant adverts and i HATE adverts.

Re: Final Fantasy Explorers Announced for 3DS

Emblem

@Gravedigga13 Good points and pretty much what happened with the PS3, its only now at the end of its life have we finally had a flood of RPGS and still have P5 to look forward to.

Luckily Nintendo have 2 (3?) 1st party dev groups that specialize in RPGS that could contribute. The chances of RPGS in general this gen across all systems is going to be very low outside of indie, eshop/psn/xbox titles, ports and remakes. But at this point i'll take what i can get where ever its coming from.
