@MrGawain Their big Christmas game is Xenoblade 2 and Pokemon Ultra, and Mario Odyssey! Mario is going to be the number one selling game on Switch this holiday, and also everyone getting the Switch for the first time this Christmas still has Mario Kart and Zelda to buy!

Re: Kimishima on the Role of the 3DS After the Switch Launch

A year or two is a long time. It makes sense for them, at the start of 2017, to make this statement, even if everyone really knows the 3DS will be done by Holiday 2018. That's a ways off and they want to sell systems. I also never believed in the Pokemon Stars rumour. Any 3rd game in that generation would be on 3DS. They will save the Switch Pokemon game for much later, after the other big nintendo guns are already out and the 3DS is really done. Then the Switch game won't look like an upscaled 3DS port, it'll be a new generation.

Re: Yooka-Laylee Rattles Away From Wii U Release

@Ralizah This is more a case of "Do we want to gimp the game and use years-old dev tools just to reach an ever-shrinking audience while missing out on the excitement of a Switch launch window with most of our target market on it and brand new shiny dev tools and more power to play the game as intended?"

its a long question.

Re: Retailer Accessories for Nintendo Switch Include Lengthy Charging Cables and Portable Cases

I know it's the Internet, and people are naturally divisive. What I am hoping is that those who treat Switch as a primary home console don't have to deal with portable-people giving them a hard time about that decision, and vice-versa. People who see Switch as a home console that can sometimes leave the house, and people who see it as a portable that can plug into the TV for a Game Boy Player experience, should try and all get along and enjoy that it's BOTH, all the time.

@BulbasaurusRex I don't know about 'generally', but I really had a good time seeing the Warcraft movie. There are lots of fans of thr Resident Evil movies despite their story having very few similarities to the games. The upcoming Assassins Creed movie looks like it might do well. Oh and I heard good things about The Last Of Us - they took a big risk releasing it on the PS4 instead of theatres but everyone I know that watched it really enjoyed it.

Wreck-It Ralph was great too as a tribute to arcade games, and Bowser and Sonic are in it.

Oh and I think my kid enjoyed the Angry Birds movie.

@Yorumi "if people love NES so much why not get a real NES"

Because they DON'T love NES so much. They barely think about Nintendo at all. But they are browsing Wal-Mart at gift-giving season and say "Oh wow I remember some of these games from my childhood. Little Jimmy would love this, he's always playing games on his iPad. I can show him what games were like when I was his age." Badaboom, $60 at Wal-Mart, and Little Jimmy has a new toy on Christmas. That's ALL THIS IS.

Christ, people, this isn't meant for hardcore Nintendo fans who still have 30 year old NES cartridges in their original packaging. How thick are you? 99% of people in the world do not own NES cartridges. And 99% of the games that aren't included in this bundle are by 3rd party developers and that's a lot of contract negotiations for what this is: A cheap, novelty toy for everyone who wishes they had a little NES in their lives. Nothing fancy, no internet, just 30 of the best games for NES, in a little box that looks like a tiny NES. For Wal-Mart shoppers. NOT for YOU, Mr. I Already Own All These Games On Virtual Console And Still Have A Working NES At Home.

Re: Pokémon GO Now Competing With Twitter In Terms Of Daily Active Users

Sure for most people this will be a fad like Flappy Bird and Farmville, but even those games lasted over a year of popularity, let alone permanent top sellers Angry Birds and Candy Crush. Once a game hits viral/fad status like these games, it is more likely they stick around for at least long enough to make the developers and publishers a HELL OF A LOT of money.

Don't need a dedicated marketing manager when the only advertising you do is twice a year Nintendo Directs made in Japan, and previously-signed contracts with distributors and licensing that just gets renewed with little change.
