Those are some good looking screenshots. I really like that they have included various lessons to learn some basic chess strategy. Oh, and I'd probably enjoy the 'puzzles' too.
sigh
Fine... want a Nintendo app for your cell/tablet?
How about if Nintendo realeased something like a Pokemon Pokedex or Face Raiders or at least something that will display a Nintendo logo you tap to make it spin (you even get points for tapping it!)?
Then the mobile "gamers" can finally have Nintendo on their platform.
For all the noise about how 'Nintendo sucks' from iPSbox fans lately, they sure want to play Nintendo games because they know where the real fun is.
I got a couple hits from a Starbucks right after the relay went live, but now... nothing. I wondered if them switching to Google had something to do with not getting relay hits anymore.
I almost got the cartridge, but waited for Boulder Dash XL to come to the eShop too. Loved it on the C=64 back in the day, I even got Digger Dan DSiWare a while ago because it's almost a clone of it.
My support for Bethesda has long passed. I experienced a game-breaking bug in CoC:DCotE on PC and they never even had the decency to fix it. If they can't pass QC, I'll pass on giving them my money.
To those who are wondering about dual cameras: I'd say it needs the two outward facing cameras for at least the AR games, even if the screen cannot display 3D.
Can you play on Wii U from a USB thumb drive? If you can do that and you need a mandatory install, include a small USB stick pre-loaded with the install; plug it in when you play the game (easy to do, front load slots )
The thing that really sucks about this not being funded is that the backers were able to have a voice in the making of the game. The pledge section of the project forums was full of creative ideas for enemy design, sanity effects, gamepad use, etc... that were going to be included in a Wii U game.
$30 for Soul Hackers is a reasonable price, I think that $40 was just a little too high (I got it when it came out; it's good, but it is an 'enhanced' old game that's showing it's age).
I just wish Wasteland 2 was coming to Wii U. It would be a perfect fit for the gamepad and I think it's using the Unity engine (fairly easy to port, as per the article above).
I don't mind 505 not putting online in Sniper Elite v2 for Wii U (MP where everyone is a sniper, no thanks) but this game looks like it was made to be played online.
I thought this guys patent had something to do with using the camera to track the eyes... (among other things that the 3DS doesn't do/use) I could be wrong of course (and am too lazy to look up previous relevant articles); but I swear it worked something like that, to 'tune' the 3D to each eye.
Something like a tablet/gamepad that is portable and downloads (discs and/or eshop) games to it's memory from the home console (dock?). Basically a Wii U gamepad that doesn't need to stream from the console. hmm, maybe it could be called WiiU2 Portable Boogaloo?
I think it's only a good thing that this will release simultaneously with the other platforms. It has online (something everyone usually complains about Wii U not getting) and uses the gamepad uniquely (other versions don't have this option).
Just wondering out loud: do the other platforms have local co-op? (no need to reply to me; I'm too lazy to look it up and I really don't care either way)
@hcfwesker Thanks for the info. Slider only controls - better pass. I thought a point and click style game would be ok using the touchscreen, but they didn't even get that right.
I'm glad they adjusted all the things that kept me from supporting this last time. I hope to see this on my Wii U soon (after a $20 pledge, of couse ).
The more that people know of the reasons behind RLing, and have an understanding of them, the more I hope that this pointless debate becomes the non-issue that it is. The folks that a RL might legitimately effect are very few, I can really only come up with international travelers. It's funny that there are people who are happy to play a story based game and not understand it, just pressing A to get to the end.
I really enjoyed your background with importing; the days of it actually being exciting are gone with the internet and "click to buy" instead of the extra work that one would have to do in that bygone era.
I used to wonder why there's region lock on games. A while back I read an article by some game devs that were making their game available in China and had to remove things like skulls and other cultural taboos, so Iwata's explanation makes perfect sense to me.
I did a quick search of Ubi's pages to make sure it came from them after getting the email because I thought it might have been a phishing scam (clickable link in an email).

I'd play an AC game set in ancient Egypt.
Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut Will Cost $20 More On Wii U Than On PS3 And 360
I would have "day one"'d this if it had come to Wii U a few months ago...
Like when it was supposed to have been released.

I didn't know BB was on TVii, I'll have to check it out tonight for the double eviction.

Re: Jools Watsham Offers to Help Create a 3DS Version of Mighty No. 9
I think team RK would do a good job porting a game like this to 3DS.
Re: "No Plans" For Ambassador Program Following Wii U Price Cut
I have to agree, the 30th anniversary promotion was like an ambassador program for us early adopters.
Re: Nintendo Download: 29th August (North America)
that Bit Trip Saga deal is too good to pass up
Re: Nintendo 2DS is Actually Made With Just One Screen
To those who are wondering about dual cameras: I'd say it needs the two outward facing cameras for at least the AR games, even if the screen cannot display 3D.
Re: 3D Gaming is Very Much A Part of Nintendo's Future Plans
It actually looks like it might be comfy to hold, the bottom rests more in the palms. I'd guess the battery might last longer too.
edit: and at that price you could buy one for, say Japan, to get games you can't get in your region (cheap way around the region-lock).

Very fair review, thanks
Re: Petit Computer Looks Set for the 3DS
A 3DS version would be nice, just to suspend/close the system and still get streetpasses!

I like the offline 'multiplayer' squad idea, women soldiers and of couse Colin the dog.

Re: Review: Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party (Wii U eShop)
I actually put this one on my eShop wishlist a couple days ago; it sounds like a nice, silly game for when company comes over.

I just saw a post ealier on miiverse by a Zen employee that hinted at a non-pinball Zen game coming to Wii U soon.
Re: Senran Kagura Burst Confirmed For North American 3DS eShop
I'm in the 'if the price is right' camp.
I saw a review that said the gameplay is good for a brawler and that there are lots of unlockables.
Also, it looks jiggle-tastic!

Re: Legendary Adventure Title Myst Receives Permanent Price Cut On 3DS eShop
For $5, it's almost worth the risk to see just how badly they botched the 3DS port.

off to the eshop to put this on my wishlist
Re: Talking Point: Why Interactive eBooks are a Perfect Fit for Wii U
The resolution on the gamepad is fine for reading text, I explore the web on it quite often. I'd be curious to experience multimedia "books" on Wii U.
Re: Weirdness: Bling is Redefined by These Zelda Songrings
I'd want a stainless steel Zelda's lullaby. hmm, might have to consider not buying a new game and get the ring instead.

Re: Miyamoto: Fresh Experiences Make A New Game, Not New Characters

Re: Review: Urban Trial Freestyle (3DS eShop)
Definitely a solid 7.
Very fun little game.
Re: Satoru Iwata - "There Are Some Reasons Behind" Region Locking
