We're not really sure where giant kaiju come from, perhaps they emerge from the depths or fly down from space, either way the North American eShop has listed Level 5’s Attack of the Friday Monsters: A Tokyo Tale for arrival on 18th July.
The third and final game of the Guild 02 series is currently priced in the eShop listing for $7.99.
Attack of the Friday Monsters puts players in the shoes of Sohta, a young boy whose family just moved to the sleepy town of Fuji no Hana. Over several episodes, Sohta will interact with the townsfolk, create and battle with Monster Cards and gather information on the town’s biggest mystery: a giant monster that shows itself every Friday.
It will be interesting to see how this game works, but its hand-drawn scenery guarantees it will be quite appealing to look at. Are you interested in this different take on monster hunting? Let us know by dropping a comment below.

Yay! I can't wait.
Very intrigued by this. Might even just buy it without seeing reviews.
im going to need to see some reviews on this, what type pf game is this even?
I was wondering when this would show up. Not too long now!
I'm definitely waiting for reviews. Guild 02 was slightly dissapointing.
Great tagline! This looks pretty cool but as i do with most games ill wait for reviews.
This is the one I was most looking forward to. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.
I have an unreasonable amount of expectations for this game
Really hope that it's going to be amazing
This is the Guild02 I've been most interested in, by a pretty wide margin. I really hope it's good.
Yes! I've been wanting this one out of the second bunch
Day One, for sure. This looks amazing.
Right around the time Pacific Rim is out.
I look forward to this, I have hopes that it will be like Crimson Shroud, the title I can enjoy in this set.
I'm convinced I'll buy this, but all the same I don't think it'll be a day one buy just because I've already bought too many games in the past few days. Not to say there's a sure chance I won't. So tempting...
Excited to see the Japanese culture in play.
@Spectator -First thought that crossed my mind.
This looks like Godzillas Revenge, the worst of the Godzilla movies (US version never counted) but still, its Godzilla so...
Would like a review though, I cant pay $8 if it sucks and its 20 minutes long.
But Im very optimistic at the moment.
This is the Guild 02 title I'm most interested in, so I hope it's good.
Despite their less than stellar reviews (mostly in the case of Bugs VS Tanks), I'll still pick the other two up eventually as well, just to support the idea.
Out of the first set, Liberation Maiden & Crimson Shroud were excellent, so I know the talent's there.
I only enjoyed Crimson Shroud from the Giuld_01 title but have enjoyed Bugs vs. Tanks and The Starship Damrey. Although the review score were lower on the 2nd set the games appealed more to me. I will pick up this title as well, regardless of reviews. Support new ideas and niche titles is good for gamiong in my opinion. Even if I don't get into all the genres I know there will be someone who does, and I would hate to see thee guys not attempt these non mainstream titles.
I'm really looking forward to this title. It looks so wonderful and charming o.o
off to the eshop to put this on my wishlist
I'll wait for the reviews but I'm interested.
Been saving some funds from a eShop card specifically for this. Really, really hope it's good. Starship Damrey was awful, so at least it has an easy act to follow.
@RevolverLink: Me too, it's the only Guild02 game which interests me. Then again, the only Guild01 game that interested me was Crimson Shroud, and I ended up disappointed by it.
@rjejr @Spectator
Same here. The kaiju weeks are starting. Plus: all the companies in my country who own the rights to classic kaiju flicks are rereleasing them in the form of new special editions. I am excited... : D
@ Attack of the Friday Monsters
Hopefully they will keep the Japanese dub; if there is one. At least the song in the trailers was in Japanese. The thing has an absolutely positive Miyazaki/Ghibli vibe to it, which I love.
This is by far my most anticipated eshop release of the year!
I just hope theres a small Godzilla cameo or atleast easter egg
