New player here, I think terraforming should have been an option given to the player from the get-go, to make the island more inhabitable, and any changes be counted as bonuses on your rating score, it's really annoying to have to build so many stuff randomly wherever they might fit, only to have to tear and move everything around after you unlock this feature, it's really making me not enjoy this game rn. The role you're are given on the island also feels very aloof in comparison to the other games where it really felt like you were accomplishing stuff, celebrating the completion of new things should also happen automatically once you login, if you're gonna make me go and have to trigger the event then I'm bored already and it feels really trivial, lol.
well considering how I have games from all 3 regions that I play on my US system I won't be updating till browserhax/Ironhax is updated or Nintendo gives us region free..sucks for them since without access to the eShop I won't be spending anymore of my money to buy digital games till then.
I know sites need their 'We Told You So' moment if something big were to come but I barely get excited when I hear about maintenance, on the contrary my only concern with updates is what if they'll block my Region Free Homebrew when I have a big region assorted 3DS game collection and even more games arriving from Japan and Europe.
after owning an original 3DS that I really despised cause the annoyingly reflective upper screen would get fingerprints all over and look dirty, then I got a 3DSXL that felt uncomfortable and gave me cramps and worsened my carpal tunnel syndrome while the upper screen would move around and felt ready to break and fall off and now I'm really loving my 2DS with it's comfortable, thick "indestructible" one-piece build and really smooth and sharp screen(s) but wish it had stereo sound, wasn't this cheap looking and had better bumper buttons..While I kinda wanna try the new 3D effect I'll be holding on till the NX release to see the new direction Nintendo is going..if the New3DS is not replaced by something better I might have to buy the AC:HHD bundle if NoA doesn't eventually release the smaller one as a regular unit by then. I have to say though after seeing it up close I wasn't a fan of the off-white/grey colour of the smaller new3DS. my favorite Nintendo device so far that I didn't have any complaint about at the time(screens are too small by today's standards but it was awesome and really loved mine so much that I still hold on to it and still use it to play DS games) has been the DS LITE.
..and this cheap knockoff looking thing is yet another example of why I'll never invest any time or money into any type of mobile gaming any time soon. Hopefully Nintendo will keep their head in the right path, not diverting their attention too much from console gaming for mobile and no Amiibo ruling over and overshadowing everything else..
I have zero interest in Amiibo and games that mostly tend to this new Nintendo trend(AC:Amiibo Festival) and sadly based on Reggie's latest interview it seems this is the new path Nintendo seems to want to head towards.
probably talk about holiday special deals, some new game localization perhaps just in time for the holiday (STYLE SAVVY 3 PLEASE!!T___T), small talk about mobile and the Nintendo account coming March 2016 but I believe nothing too big and off-railing that will jeopardize the holiday and rest of the quarters till the still distant NX release..
in other news Nintendo's region locking ways probably won't stop anytime soon.if they want to keep their eShop and account system region specific,ok fine..they just need to atleast give us the right to load other region's cart games and then the ability to download out of region context (like the game patches etc) by scanning their AR codes and transferring you to a downloading page that you wouldn't be able to access otherwise if it's not from your region..that would work quite well without creating a mess in the different region eShops IMO.
thank you for a great review of this lovely game and being able to recognize that this is not 'shovelware'. Yes, while at first sight it might appear to have a few common characteristics with some such games and not be something for everybody eventually there is a lot more that make this certain game a fulfilling simulation experience and a very creative & enjoyable pastime. Hopefully NoA will pick it up really soon, the wait and uncertainty have been unbearable.
..so essentially Nintendo is not creating Miitomo to please you, their fanboys or fangirls..Miitomo is a well concealed monitoring app that will surve the purpose of what answering all those questionnaires has been all about and ofcourse they will insure that this will be a success as their first mobile gaming app by offering you rewards like points to win free games or game discounts if you download and constantly play this app that you will not be able to resist..creating a franchise game as their first app would have only appealed to the fans of said franchise when this will have a much bigger impact..whether you think it's not for you, enjoy it or not you will probably become a slave to it for the free treats I'm sure..
basically everyone? well the Mii you will create will be your digital self and part of everything you'll be doing in your My Nintendo, this app will give your Mii a world and a life of it own so it makes perfect sense that this is the first app they are creating..now cut to when Nintendo will make it a mandatory app when you create a My Nintendo account or will be giving tons of reward points if you download and play the app and EVEYONE will be download this thus making it a big success for them while Nintendo will also get to intrude your privacy and monitor you through the questions you answer and use them to create better products made for you.
though..those are the most popular breeds in Nintendogs so I guess this is a small notion about a crossover? like nothing too fancy just unlocking AC style costumes for your Nintendogs and stuff.
Isabelle and Digby are siblings shouldn't they have been the same breed? and KK is a dog looking character who is obviously a different breed than the one used too..
this app will be your virtual identity, a digital version of you that will be part of everything you do on your new Nintendo account from then on, it makes perfect sense as a first app..
this game makes perfect sense as a first app, in a sense you'll be creating your new accounts and then a virtual version of you that will be part of every move that you make from then on and also have a life of it's on through this app while Nintendo will be monitoring your hobbies and stuff you like to create better products suited for you, same thing companies like Facebook is doing while you think you're "communicating with friends" but you rather unwittingly let them intrude your privacy instead.
our 3DS count the hours you devote to each game and I guess this is how this will get the info, hopefully our gaming efforts until now will be scanned and imported to our new accounts.
loooool such a Japanesque type of game! sounds like a small aspect of this game was inspired by the LovePlus series..also I guess the questions will be about stuff you like so friends can ask your Mii for present ideas to buy you etc..
I find the current mobile gaming market right now a joke and uninspiring, can Nintendo change that? dunno, but all I care for right now is what the new Club Nintendo has to offer, a possible renovation at the NID system to be tied to an account and not to a device, Region Free and further 3DS/NX news..
I think it was a bad idea of Nintendo to announce the NX so early on, personally I'm skeptc whether to buy a N3DS or not cause what if i need to replace it in less than a year time for something better? also the lack of anything worth mentioning lately may be cause Nintendo is getting ready to knock all our socks off when they'll make all those NX announcements and we find out that this has instead been a very busy period for them..I sure hope so..
my tips is: accept a commission from an animal, choose the spot, choose the layout and then check the items this animal unlocks for you if they're too few or stuff you don't want cancel the commission return to the HHD building and pick another animal till you get the best deal of the day.
lol, different strokes for different folks I guess..Personally (after playing Wild World and New Leaf back to back) I'm more than excited that I don't have to start over the same-exact-game-a-little-different and re-collect everything from the beginning again and I get to emerge myself into a fresh, new AC past time experience instead! (the first time an AC game has been so vastly different from the first game release back in 2001!)..most people argue that's there's lack of any real challenge when this time around you get to be an employee with a really specific job, purpose and like a million Animals(or Amiibo, lol) to "Gotta catch 'em all!", house and collect! (yet it still gives you the opportunity to follow instructions or act more freely and creative with your designing if you wish to do so).. What's my motivation with AC:HHD? I'm more than pumped up to meet, properly house and party with every single adorable character in this game! something that I couldn't do in AC:NL where you can only have 10 random animals in your village and then you couldn't really take initiative to interact or call them up to a party, etc unless it was a specific date or they asked for their chore from you themselves. I hope we'll see more and more such type of different motivation AC spin offs in the near future!
yes! another guy fan of this game here and I've been waiting so long for this, now NoA should better make their own region's announcement and perhaps release it a little sooner too!!XP
also, I love my 2DS and carry it around or play more than my 3DS or 3DSXL..wish they'd add stereo speakers though as it just isn't the same.(especially for games like Animal Crossing where the stereo effect is in full use with the sound surroundings)..Also if they'd ever release a NEW2DS with amiibo compatibility I wish they'd make the screen a bit bigger like they did with the NEW3DS.
I'm old school and traditional, up until this point I have yet to see any iOs app that I would qualify as a real game instead of a "Slot App", game apps that have the minimum amount of context, programing and creativity created for the sole reason to spend real money to buy unnecessary in-game ghost/air items, can Nintendo change that or are they also in it for the quick buck? hopefully the first otherwise I'm not interested.. That being said I can sort of see something like Animal Crossing - Amiibo Festival working for an iOs device..
I let my little nephew play with my DS LITE whenever I babysit him cause I don't want him to accidentally break my 2DS or 3DS XL and OMG he is just loving all those older games so much!
