This isn't surprising in the least. Nintendo are so behind the times when it comes to their properties ownership. The Nintendo teams and the games are great, but Nintendo management are awful. I miss when Nintendo was a fun company and there were $20 classic old titles as part of the Nintendo Selects Program. Something like Breath Of The Wild should absolutely be that price at this point. It seems when Iwata passed and then Reggie left is when it all went downhill. It Doesn't Matter cause everyone will forget about this negative move from Nintendo when they announce the next Mario or Zelda mainline title. It always happens.
I planned on just watching this game through the Convenient placed viewer mode through YouTube. I enjoyed the first game a lot, hated Life Is Strange 2, I enjoyed the stories of True Colors and Before the Storm a lot, but the gameplay started feeling dated by then. I've not been a fan of the big price increase to these games when they stopped releasing episodes and released the full product in one go. It went from $20 to full price. These types are OK at $20, but a rip-off at full price. The Telltale types had better action and so I enjoyed those better as a whole.
The Snes game was my most played Snes game back in the day. This seems like it is made for a certain audience and I'm part of that. I was worried when I heard the delay, but a little over a week isn't that bad. I'm really excited for sure for this. Definitely will go for the Switch version mainly for handheld mode. Doesn't seem like a demanding game so I don't really see the positives on Ps5 or Series X version to outweigh me getting it for the OLED
I played through this on PS+ on the Ps5 and got the extremely frustrating Platinum Trophy (when I still cared about those things). Needless to say, this wasn't my cup of tea. I am happy it is on Switch and I see it selling well during the holidays, but this is definitely a pass for me. I went into it expecting something different. I found the gameplay to be very disappointing and I expected something more on rails.
Well I am glad this made it to the Switch. I've been playing San Andreas recently to celebrate the 20th anniversary and so this is good timing. Unfortunately, I've nearly completed this playthrough so I wished it could have been done back on October when San Andreas turned 20. At least Vice City will be ready when I do another playthrough of it in the near future. I still find it humorous that Rockstar make a billion profit every year from Gta Online and yet they outsourced this giant project to a team of 21 people and rushed them. Of course they had to rely on Ai for this. They've since been closed down and now their logo and name has been removed from the game to top it off. I am not worried at all for Gta 6 though. That will of course be done in house and both Rockstar and Take Two plan on it lasting at least a decade for Gta Online 2.0. I see them distancing themselves from Gta Online in Gta V and most likely will have a sizable studio to continue supporting it to some degree
Between this and Gta 6 (which I am buying a copy on Ps5 for my wife and a copy for myself on Series X) 2025 is already looking like a good gaming year. This has been a top requested game from Nintendo fans to be ported from Wii U to Switch by Nintendo.
Will be buying this Day 1. The original game on Super Nintendo is one of my favorite retro games of all time and I wished it would get Remastered or released as part of a modern collection like Aladdin, Lion King, and The Jungle Book were. I played the original nonstop back in the day and this looks like a spiritual successor to it, especially with it being released on Switch. Digital Eclipse are masters with retro and this style of stuff. I'm really excited
I'll pass. I didn't get far in the original because I just cannot return to 3D era games in this style. I enjoyed Banjo and Kazooie and Super Mario 64 back in the day, but I can't return to them. Games like Mario Galaxy from 2007 are fine, but this style of an awkward 3D map like from N64 era, Nope. Same reason I don't have any hype for the upcoming Croc Remakes.
I refunded it and I recommend that others do the same. Nintendo gave me my full refund back to my original payment method. I was going to wait for a patch and yet things kept getting worse. They even forgot to add music in the clubs and bars of San Andreas. I went back to the OG Xbox versions that are backwards compatible. This collection was poorly made and has nothing to do with the hardware. Ps5 can't even keep 60fps in the games lol. Review is spot on.
This collection was absolute garbage. I speedrun the games and I have a passion for them and yet I hate seeing them butchered here. Terrible frame rates, input lag is a huge problem, I encountered numerous game breaking bugs where missions refused to continue and I had to reload the game. The graphics look like play dough mixed with a blur effect in Docked mode, just unbearable. I've found numerous graphics glitches too. I can't believe they screwed this all up this badly.
This collection was absolute garbage. I speedrun the games and I have a passion for them and yet I hate seeing them butchered here. The graphics look like play dough mixed with a blur effect in Docked mode, just unbearable. I've found numerous graphics glitches and the characters look terrible and either Frankenstein abominations or like dolls with a shiny plastic look. I went back to the OG versions and I regret buying this. Review was spot on, thank you PJ. Grove Street Games should be ashamed of themselves as this should have ran flawlessly on all platforms.
They really should add N64, Gamecube, and Wii to the program. I feel like the program is lacking since it is a paid subscription. Yes, $7 for 3 months or even $20 for a year is cheap, but the subscription is lacking for what you pay for. You pay to play online for the most part and that's it. I don't want a messaging system added, apps like Netflix, or any of that "clutter" on the Switch. I do want games like Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart:Wii, Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, and Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess (Gamecube version) to be added.
Absolutely love it and I agree with your score. I can't give it a 10/10 either cause some levels should have been tweaked a bit better. Like when you're on a dinosaur on a water slide and you can collect 8 red coins, but the controlling is off. The other complaint is the Bowser Statue level in World 3 with the moving fences and you have to balance on clouds. I failed a lot there as it was extremely frustrating that you have no camera control in the level and I'd accidentally jump off the cloud in the background while avoiding the moving fences. Overall though, it has been amazing so far. Bowser's Fury is absolutely incredible too. 9.7/10 is spot on
@Prizm A lot of Nintendo games are 60 fps though in docked mode and at 1080p. Arms, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario 3D World are three examples. If your complaint is about "outdated hardware from Nintendo", then I don't know what to tell you. Yes the Switch is weaker than both Xbox One and Ps4, however, it is more powerful than 360 and Ps3. It doubles as a handheld and you can go from handheld mode to playing on the TV within a minute if you count detaching the Joycons from the device.
What Microsoft and Sony are putting out are top of the line PC rigs and that's boring to me. Their games are boring to me cause they don't take risks anymore and they play it safe. Sony even made Demons Souls as a Ps5 launch game and that is a remade Ps3 game. Microsoft didn't launch anything with theirs and Halo:Infinite is a long ways off and the 343 track record isn't good at all. Halo 4 and Halo 5 weren't as good as the Bungie Halo games at all. Nintendo has shown for awhile that power is no longer their interest and hasn't been since Gamecube. A lot of people don't know that Gamecube was more powerful than Ps2. I like how they are putting out fun and innovative games and are making actual gaming consoles. I'm happy that Nintendo are doing something different. Also I'd like to mention that even if Nintendo did release a Switch:Pro, don't expect it to blow your socks off or anything as it wouldn't be that big of a power leap if compared to Ps4 to Ps5 or One to Series S/X.
I'm approaching 30. I have a Xbox One X next to my Model 2 Nintendo Switch. I've got no interest in the new consoles with Series or Ps5. I stopped caring about Playstation with Ps3 when games started to become more like movies and I wasn't into that. I don't care about new games that aren't Nintendo made as I feel they are boring and copy and pasted games from two generations ago. I'm just sticking with Nintendo from now on. I don't have much gaming time anymore and I like how I can play a few Mario levels and feel "satisfied". Most other games would have you still at the tutorial in that timeframe. The Switch is in my top 3 favorite consoles of all time.
I've had Super Mario 3D World:Deluxe digitally preordered and installed since last week. I tried at 12 am to launch it and was met with an error. At 12:04 am, it launched. I've been having a blast and Bowser's Fury is amazing and intense. Bowser feels like Jason Voorhees from Friday The 13th here and he is intimidating and no joke. I love it.
I never got to complete 3D World on Wii U cause I had a lot going on then and I didn't get far in it. I did complete Super Mario 3D Land on 2DS in the past. So far the experience has been great. The only negative I can say is that a small amount of levels could have been made a bit better. Like the level where you are on a water slide and have to get 8 red coins and the controlling is off. It took me like 15 retries to get all 8 coins in a row. The other problem I had was in World 3 where you pay to remove the Bowser statue. There is a section where you have to cross clouds and fences. I died like 10 times or more in a row there cause the camera couldn't be altered and I kept running off the cloud by accident.
I guessed right as to what number 1 was going to be. On a side note, Super Mario Maker 3DS is far better than Super Mario Maker. Mainly cause there's an actual story mode in the 3DS version and man are some of those challenges intense and hair pulling levels of anger. Loved completing it.
"In 2013, the world was very different. Donald Trump was just another reality TV host"
Oh for God's sake, please don't bring political talk here. I don't care about politics and I'm sick of hearing it everywhere constantly. Mario has nothing to do with that stuff.
I don't care about Battle royale games or most non Nintendo games these days, but I'm nearly 30 and that could be why. I'm still happy that this game and Fortnite came to Switch cause they are popular and gamers of various ages love them. That file definitely is a huge one. Reminds me of when I got Mortal Kombat 11 physically and still needed nearly 30 gigs to download it to play story mode. Then I got the Aftermath dlc that also included all future dlc and that meant more space, lol. I didn't mind it cause I do love MK. I have 15 gigs left of available space from a 512 GB Micro SD card.
@miitomobenji. I was willing to give it a chance even with Google behind the scenes and they are known to quickly abandon ideas that aren't working quickly enough. Then the launch happened and it was a train wreck. 2 weeks after launch, they were already giving $60 launch titles away as free games with Stadia Pro. They did this like 2 weeks later and both times received backlash from Stadia users. A few months later, they were begging people to try Stadia by making Stadia Pro free for countless weeks or months. I knew the writing was on the wall by then. Microsoft with Xcloud are doing far better and it is a perk with Gamepass and so that means the program and the hub welcome each other. Their business strategy makes far more sense. Hence why Xcloud isn't on its last legs compared to Stadia
The funny part was that Stadia was created 14 months ago and this happens. These teams were barely there for a year. All jokes aside, Gylt was a fairly unique title that I hope gets a chance to come to Playstation, Xbox, and Switch. It looked like Tim Burton meets Alan Wake. It seemed like a far more interesting launch title than either Sony or Microsoft has put out for Ps4/One or Ps5/Series.
I'm still hoping that Capcom releases a Dead Rising Remastered Collection. With Dead Rising 1, Dead Rising 2, and Dead Rising 2:0ff the Record for Switch. Those Remastered games came to every other platform in 2016.
Destroy all Humans:Remake absolutely needs a Switch port.
Darksiders 3 needs to come to Switch considering that every other game in the franchise, even Genesis, got a Switch release.
Crash Bandicoot 4 needs a Switch port for sure !
I don't think that any of these games would be too outrageous to ask for.
I'm just happy that my favorite Wii U game is finally coming to Nintendo Switch. I've already preordered it digitally and downloaded it from the Nintendo Eshop. I'm just waiting for the 12th to play it. I completed 3D Land on my 2DS in the past. I never got a chance to complete 3D World cause I had a lot going on in my life then. I'm so excited to play it again. It looked and played beautifully on Wii U. 1080p, 60 fps, with stronger hardware, here I come ! Yah hoooooo !
I just hope that one thing that Nintendo makes a priority for during this generation is a dedicated Nintendo Online ecosystem. Sony and Microsoft have had stable ecosystems for three generations now. Nintendo fans like me that have invested countless amounts of money, even hundreds of dollars, in our digital games need to be reassured that Nintendo won't leave us out in the cold if they decide to end the service.
The Wii U definitely was very underwhelming. It wasn't just poor marketing is why it failed, it failed cause Nintendo placed game releases too far apart and that didn't help the console. The main reason why I didn't like the console was it had an identity crisis. It didn't know if it wanted to be a handheld console, a home console, a Wii, a successor to the Wii, etc. The controller looked and felt like a Fisher Price toy and I hated how it had a duel reflection when you were trying to watch Netflix and it got to the point where I would "hide" the controller to avoid this. The battery life was abysmal because of how the controller was made. The console was lackluster and very basic.
You could do handheld gaming for games that allowed it, but you couldn't get far from the console at all or else you would lose connection to the device. It had some great games and thankfully Nintendo ported the majority over to Switch. But let's not pretend that the library of first party titles was flawless. Kirby And The Rainbow Curse and Star Fox:Zero were both a spit in the face to me and countless other Nintendo fans. Meanwhile, Switch is in my top 3 favorite consoles of all time and I own nearly the complete North American library.
Heck in my opinion, I wouldn't call this "barren" at all. From this gen going forward, I'm only supporting Nintendo cause they are the only ones releasing unique and fun games. I find this list to be exciting for Nintendo Switch. Breath Of The Wild 2 is nearly everyone's most anticipated Switch game. Super Mario 3D World:Deluxe has been bought by me already and ready to play on the 12th digitally and that was the Wii U game that I was begging Nintendo to port over to Switch. Bayonetta 3 will be solid as that franchise has a large following. Most Nintendo fans have been wanting a new Metroid game for ages, especially on modern hardware. New Pokemon Snap will be a day 1 purchase from me cause I played the heck out of Pokemon Snap on N64 back in the day. All in all, a very good year thus far.
This person hasn't a clue what they are talking about. Nintendo have been going since the late 1970's and have outlasted countless gaming companies as a major player. Their former main rival, Sega, makes games for them as an example. The Switch is an ingenious design with cartridges mixed with Micro SD support. It is a great handheld and home console device. Nothing Nintendo made last gen or this gen was a disappointment to me when it came to the Switch. If a Switch Pro is made, I'll get it and keep my current model 2 Switch. My One X is basically only kept for certain games like Darksiders 3, Crash Bandicoot 4, and remade games that aren't on Switch. I love how the Switch doesn't have Netflix, apps, achievements and trophies, a messaging system like Facebook. I play it for the games and that's why I'm not getting a Ps5 or Series cause I'm tired of those types of games and this started last gen.
I've got no interest in Ps5 or Series X or Series S. I love my Model 2 Nintendo Switch a lot more than my Xbox One X. I'm approaching 30 and I don't see myself buying any more consoles that aren't Nintendo made. Nearly every non Nintendo game that I've played has been a disappointment last gen. The Outer Worlds was the exception as it was the most refreshing Rpg I've played in years. Everything else seemed copy and pasted and just boring. Not one Switch game let me down. If a Switch:Pro is announced, I will be preordering it to enter "this gen".
1. A Dead Rising Collection. Dead Rising 1, Dead Rising 2, and Dead Rising 2 Off The Record as the Remastered ports. All three games were ported to Ps4, PC, and One. They could easily work on Switch.
2. GTA V. At least give us the Ps3/360 version if you have to. As an owner of PSP with Gta Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories, Gta in handheld is great.
3. Red Dead Redemption 1. Another perfect game for on the go play.
4. Sleeping Dogs. One of the best and underrated games ever made.
I'll pick this game up for Christmas. I really hope that we get Super Mario 3D World Deluxe soon. I miss that game. I had all of the good Wii U games and I ended up selling Wii U. Poorly made console and an underwhelming one. Awful controller that reminded me of a Fisher Price toy. Netflix was slow and glitchy, actually froze on me once. The exciting part of gaming on the Gamepad instead of on the Tv even wasn't fully realized cause most games used the Pad as a menu. Combined with the fact that the Gamepad had to be near the console anyway. Watching Netflix on the console was a pain cause of the annoying double screen effect from the Gamepad. Nintendo Switch is what the Wii U should have been. I have like 70+ games for Switch and it is my favorite console of all time now. I look forward to Pikmen 3 as a Christmas gift to myself for the tree.
I'll wait until Christmas to get Doom and the modern Wolfenstein games. $30 each is still a lot compared to how cheap they are on other consoles and on PC. This sale should honestly be $10-$15 a piece. Doom at $60 normal price is ridiculous. Shows how overpriced the Nintendo Eshop is.

Re: Get Ready For More Remasters From Activision Blizzard In 2021
I'm still hoping that Capcom releases a Dead Rising Remastered Collection.
Re: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury Frame Rate And Resolution Detailed
I'm just happy that my favorite Wii U game is finally coming to Nintendo Switch. I've already preordered it digitally and downloaded it from the Nintendo Eshop. I'm just waiting for the 12th to play it. I completed 3D Land on my 2DS in the past. I never got a chance to complete 3D World cause I had a lot going on in my life then. I'm so excited to play it again. It looked and played beautifully on Wii U. 1080p, 60 fps, with stronger hardware, here I come ! Yah hoooooo !
Re: Nintendo Is "Replacing Its Multiplayer Server System" Dating Back To The Wii U And 3DS Era
Re: Reggie Admits Switch Was A "Make Or Break Product" For Nintendo After Poor Performance Of Wii U
Re: Nintendo Shares Release Schedule For 2021 And Beyond, And It's Looking Pretty Bare
Re: "Nintendo Isn't That Smart": Pachter Says Nintendo Should Scrap Switch And 'Only Have Switch Lite'
Re: Switch Owners "Most Likely" To Own A Rival Console, 2020 Study Shows
I've got no interest in Ps5 or Series X or Series S.
Re: "Wide Variety" Of Third-Party Titles Planned For Switch Going Forward, Says Nintendo President
I'd love to see these games on Switch
Make this happen and I'd be happy
Re: Nintendo Has Removed Pikmin 3 From The Wii U eShop Ahead Of The Switch Release
Re: Lots Of DOOM Games, Skyrim And Wolfenstein Are All 50% Off On Nintendo Switch (Europe)
