Just bought Astral Chain two days ago. I have not played it yet because I’m playing Breath of the Wild for the first time. I tried BotW a couple of time but I just never really got in it. And suddenly the game got a hold on me and I just can’t stop playing.
I never liked Bayonetta to be honest, but I’ve played Astral at a friends house a bit and I loved it. There was a huge discount on the game 2 days ago so I just had to buy it.
Bayonetta seems faster than AC and somehow I just could never really feel what I was doing in Bayonetta. With Astral it feels way better, but I haven’t played long enough to be sure about that. But for € 39,00 I just couldn’t let it pass.
Amazing that Mario Maker 2 is not on the list and NSMBU and Mario party are.
I expect LM3 to climb some places, it’s not yet out for a long time. I had 8 of them (I never had any of the Pokémon games) and sold 3 (Mario Party/Smash/Splatoon 2) and I really regret getting rid of Splatoon 2.
I bought Smash 2 times on the Switch. First time I just couldn’t get into it. Second time I picked it up with a huge discount and told myself that this time I would get the hang of it…… I didn’t…..
I never played the original Links Awakening, maybe that’s why I really loved the game and it has a nice spot in my top 5 Switch games:
1. Super Mario Odyssey
2. Luigi’s Mansion 3
3. Links Awakening
4. Breath of the Wild
5. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
I love Mario Kart 8 on the Switch, but I played it on the WiiU and only bought this version for my kids. So it doesn´t get a spot in my top 5 Switch games. On the WiiU list, it does...
Great game. But it’s unfair to compare it with LA when it comes to performance. That game is way bigger and it’s graphics are much heavier for the Switch.
If your talking to me, I never said that Tetris is the one game I base NSO on. Because it isn't. To me, 100 hours for € 20,00 is not very much. I do play online a lot (Mario Kart & Splatoon) and the price for an one year subscription is pretty low.
I also own a PS4 and I got PS+. It would be a dream if Nintendo would ever do it like Sony does. But they will never do that. It is Nintendo keeping their games worthy....
Nice! I rarely play (S)NES games on the Switch, accept for Super Mario World. I still love that one. I’m a bit excited about Super Punch Out because I loved that one back in the day.
NSO costs like € 19,99, that’s not very much. I just bought The Touryst. Lovely game, but not very long. It costs the same as NSO for a whole year.Everytime they announce new games, the same poo happens. To expensive, not enough games ect.ect… I just don’t get it. Maybe because I don’t consider (S)NES games as THE reason for buying NSO. I played like a hundred hours of Tetris onine. That game alone is worth every single penny for me..
First people screaming for SNES games. Now we got a bunch. Now they should give us SNES games every single month...
Yes, yes and a triple yes. I've been waiting for this game for years! I loved LM on the GameCube and I loved it on the 3DS. It's just so much fun. I'm at work right now, but in 2,5 hours I'll pick it up at my local store. I got the steelbook version.
I just really can't wait. It's been a great year for me as a Switch owner. Astral Chain/Super Mario Maker 2/Links Awakening en Luigi's Mansion 3 are a couple of my most beloved games this year.
Got the game and I love it..... But only in handheld. I also played the game on the PS4 Pro for a long time so I certainly see and feel the difference when it comes to the Switch version.
It's amazing how it looks on the Switch (handheld). It plays nicely and I really enjoy it. I paid like € 20,00 for the game, so no biggy. I tend to play more handheld so I won't have to battle for the TV all the time.
I like the game a lot, but again. Only in handheld. If you want to play Overwatch on the bigscreen... Play the PS4/PC/One version.
Got the game and it plays great. It does look good, but it’s not at the same level as DKTF. But I really do love the gameplay, it’s smooth and fun.
I’ve heard negative things about the controls by some, but I love the controls and I have had no issue playing the game.
I dare to say that this is my number 2 platform game on the Switch (behind DKTF) right now. Love it, it is really just fun. It has great gameplay, but the levels can get a bit dull after a while.
Yeah? Is it good? I loved DKTF, but are you saying that the controls of Yooka is better? I would be happy if they are almost as good. I do see some mixed reviews about Yooka, but I’m going to see for myself tomorrow
I had this on my radar for a while now. Good to see it's pretty good. But to me, it looks a lot like Tropical Freeze, a game that I adore. At first it was the reason it got on my radar, now it's the reason I won't buy it immediately after it's release. Would like to play it, but no must have like a Luigi's Mansion 3.
I think you are underestimating how many people never played the original game. And how many people owning a Switch that were not even born yet during the first (or second for that matter) release.
I haven’t played it (I was born long before the first release, but I didn’t fancy Zelda all that much in the 90’s) and Links Awakening is now my most beloved game this year. I really love this game and play it with a big smile on my face.
Yes, I’d rather see original games than remakes (or worse, remasters). But at least RE2 Remake/Spyro/Links Awaking prove that making a true efford on a remake, pays off eventually.
My favorite Switch game is and will probably always be Super Mario Odyssey. I do have high hopes for Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Animal Crossing. As long as they keep the original games going, a couple of great remakes won’t be a problem for me.
@koekiemonster:
I'm almost done 100% and it took me like 19 hours. Long enough for me.
I just love the game. I usually never notice framedrops. But in this game I do notice. It’s never gamebreaking to me, but it’s there for sure. Still my most beloved game of 2019.
Boy, I just can’t wait for that one. Loved it on the Cube. Loved it in the 3DS.... And this one just looks asome.
I want more games from the list but I just gotta stop buying all those NS games. I have a huge backlog and to be honest? I don’t always finish my games. Only the ones that I really enjoy. Like Links Awakening...
Agreed, € 30,00 for these controllers is not that much. Those 8bitdo controller cost more. They do have anologue sticks and 4 true shoulderbuttons, the pro versions that is.
The lite is nice handheld, great even. But for me, as a Switch owner, there is absoluty no reason to buy the Lite. In the Netherlands there is a gameshop were you can exchange your regular Switch for a Lite without any costs. Ofcourse your Switch has to be in a perfect condition, but I just can’t imagine that you would trade your Switch in for a Lite.

True story. Thank god I haven't played Link's Awakening before. If I would have, I'd still buy it, but I understand why people who played it multiple times say it's pricetag is too high. But it's Nintendo and the game will keep it's high price for a long, long time. Even if you'll sleep it off.
Can't wait for this one. Never played the original, so I'm a lucky so and so. Started playing Zelda with the release of Windwaker, but after that I got hooked and played the GC versions, 3DS and BotW. I did like BotW, but my problem with games as big as BotW is that I’ll loose my interest after 20 hours. By that time a new game is already out and I start playing it. After a while I return to BotW, but I just can’t find my way anymore.
I love Zelda now, but in my NES/SNES time I didn’t like the games. I play them now, and love them. Link’s Awakening is exactly my cup of tea. I just don’t like games 40+ hour, because I got a busy social life. So it happens that I just don’t have the time to play games for a longer period of time. Got a SF30 Pro from 8Bitdo. It has big(ger) triggers, a homebutton, a picturebutton and sticks. And it looks exactly like an original SNES controller. So nope, not buying this one here. Do love the looks of it, but I can use my SF30 Pro even for the big Switch games. The SNES controller won't be able to do so.
Well, I do. Never played the original, so yeah. I'll pay the full price. Is it going to be the longest game.. Nope. Will it be like 12 to 15 hours of great fun? Oh yeah.

Yes, big bad Nintendo brainwashed people. Amazing how they done that, don’t you agree? All I see is a dude that believes that everyone is stupid by saying that paying the full € 1,50 every month is nothing for being able to play a lot of (S)NES games on one device, get a great game like Tetris 99. I don’t care about ROMs and I have no PC, certainly not one I can put in my pocket and play my (S)NES games anywere.
Usually you don’t get a subscription and get something new along the way and then start moaning about the new stuff you got for free.
I bought my membership may 2019. I had no knowledge of SNES games being part of that membership. Along the way they did without a higher price tag. So why would I complain?
It’s amazing how much people complain. The subscription is something like € 1,50 a month. For that money some of you believe to be entitled to get 2 free AA titles monthly and be guarenteed to get 6 new (S)NES games each month. That’s just really… You know… Sad and unrealistic.
They scream that you can play all those games for free on a PC (that’s not legal) Then they want you to believe that PSN gives away 2 AAA games every month (most of the time those games are far from being AAA titles and the price difference between a PSN and NSO subscription is pretty clear) to justify their moaning.
Glad I’m satisfied with Nintendo right now. The Switch is a great machine and it has a great subscription option. I can play many NES and SNES titles on one device and take that device with my anywere. That’s amazing and fun. And all of that for like € 1,50 monthly. I get to play Tetris 99 for free and love it.

DKTF I hope.... I just want that game again.

Does it top DKTF? No! Does it come close? No! It just doesn’t. DKTF looks a bit better and that game is just the best platformer on the Switch.
But YLatIL is a great game. A tribute to the true 2(,5)D platform games. It feels good, it’s not easy and it looks great.
