Re: UK Charts: Mario Galaxy Loses Steam As Battlefield Blasts Onto The Scene

MP4 is a pretty big game. Not mainstream, but big nevertheless. You mention a missing systemseller, but have you heard about Mario Kart World?

BF6 and GoY are released this week. Let's see how they compare with Mario Kart World in a couple of months . DKB is still in the top 10, months after release. I see no problem here.

Even if games like BF6 and BO7 would release on the Switch 2, nobody with a PS5/PC/Xbox will buy the SW2 version so what's your point?

Re: Switch 2 Reportedly Sold 2.4 Million Units In First Three Months On The Market (US)

Cyrax77

@Clammy

The launch line-up is just fine and pretty normal for me tbh. A new Mario Kart and a brandnew Donkey Kong in the first two months is just fine.Nothing out of the ordinary here.

Aren’t first party games simply priced higher on every other console right now? Sony’s 1st party games are € 70,00/€ 80,00 and many stay around that price for longer than before.

I have absolutely no problem with the new prices. My kids have to save a little bit longer but that’s not a bad thing tbh. Nowadays many gamers have huge backlogs. I do buy less games now, but to me that’s not a bad thing. If I really want a game, it doesn’t really matter if the game is € 65,00 of € 80,00. If I don’t really want a game, I just won’t buy it or wait for a price cut.

Re: Switch 2 Reportedly Sold 2.4 Million Units In First Three Months On The Market (US)

I love the Switch 2 (except the dock -> scratches the screen). I'm happy with the new games on de SW2 and I love the fact that many of my favo NS1 games are upscaled on the Switch 2.

I tend not to go beserk about the new prices in this era. The "omg, this game should be $ 40,00 instead of $ 60,00" complains is not something I care about all that much.

I do buy less games because of it, but that only means I'm just getting a smaller backlog. Now I just buy the games I really want, nothing more.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 On Switch

Cyrax77

@MrGawain

No, it doesn’t matter and it shouldn’t. You mention a miilion dollar for example, that’s a big overstate. It is € 65,00 (in Europe). Most people want the game to be like € 40,00 or € 50,00. All the fuzz is about a € 15,00 - € 25,00 difference.

Games like this (bundles of older games with few “upgrades”) are not for everyone, as I mentioned before. Not every game is ment for you. There are tons of people that never played the Galaxy games. There are tons of people that love the fact that it is possible to have all the 3D Mario’s on 1 console. The game is ment for them. For them, the game is worth every penny. A reviewer can mention the price (and that’s just fine), but it should not affect the review. A reviewer is there to tell you if the game is any good. If it's worth your money is something a reviewer can’t judge.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 On Switch

Cyrax77

@ParrakerriRush

Does it really matter? I'm glad the price doesn't affect the review, that's how it should be. A review should be unprejudiced and about the game itself, not the pricing. You can mention it, but that's it.

Games like this, they are obviously not for everyone. If you have never played these games, they are worth every penny. If you like the possibility to have all the 3D Mario's on one console, they are worth every penny.

If you have and have no nostalgia for them, they are not for you. If you think the games are not worth the price, they are not for you.

People love the negative vibe nowadays. It's clickbait.

Those YT dudes are the same guys that have been screaming for 5 years that all they need is a Switch with more horsepower and now they have one. It has (almost) evertything they asked for, but they can't admit that because they know that being negative generates clicks.

That Dreamcast guy is one of the worse ones I have ever seen.

Re: UK Charts: Donkey Kong Barrels Past The Competition To Claim Gold

Cyrax77

@the_beaver

That's exactly what it is. A remake like this isn't necessarily for those who already played it (multiple times). There are a lot of young people that never played this game on the Wii or the 3DS.

Most of the people that complain played the game years ago. If you feel like this remake is overpriced, don't buy it. You won't miss out on anything. For those never played the game, you'll love this great platformer.

I never played the Wii version (I played the 3DS version) so I bought the game so I can play it on the big screen. I do have a Wii, but I don't like the motion controls. It's great, not as great as Tropical Freeze, but still great and worth every penny.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Costs $60 On Switch

Cyrax77

@Uncle_Franklin

No worries mate, I won't. You see, I know what I'll be getting with this game. It's no secret, Nintendo is not hiding anything from me.

An insurance scam is a whole different cookie. You know that right? No need to be this cocky with your comment. I'm not stupid because I'm going to spend $ 52,50 on an remake with no extra shizzle other than HD. It's just a choice I make. Your free to make yours, I won't judge you for it.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Costs $60 On Switch

Cyrax77

@JoakimZ

Nintendo knows you and others that have acces to the 3DS or Wii version won't buy it. Nintendo is business, they want to make profits. So they have a choice to make.

Will they put more work in the development of the game and try to convince gamers who already have the game on the 3DS, the Wii or both and not willing to double or even triple dip.

Or will they skip those gamers and go for the easy port and aim for collectors, Nintendo addicts and childeren that never played the Wii or 3DS version.

They went for the second option and they have every right to do so. I just don't understand why a consumer cares how much works a company puts in making a luxury product. Gaming to me is about having fun. Playing my favorite older games on new(er) hardware is a blast to me.

What do I care if it cost $ 40,00 or $ 60,00? I have a job and I have way more problems with how expensive everyday life has become. Things I HAVE to pay for in order to get to work, my water, mortgage and stuff like that. A game is just a game, I don't need it.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Costs $60 On Switch

Cyrax77

@Bolt_Strike

It's as much obvious as the rest of all the remasters (it's not a remake) in the world of gaming these days. It has the same name as the original with "HD" on it. If you google the title, you can read that it's a remaster of the Wii version. Beinig not informed is almost impossible.

I do beg to differ DKCR HD will be less fun for the kid tbh. Most kids so small that parents will buy games for never played the original. Those who did are old enough to know its's a remaster (it's not a remake).

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Costs $60 On Switch

Cyrax77

@jake1421

How are they "ripped of"? Does Nintendo force them into buying this game or do they need to buy this game in order to survive? Will they be put in jail if they don't buy this game? Are they buying a Donkey Kong game that's not a Donkey Kong game? Is Nintendo hiding that this is a remake of a remake?

And do you think their kids will have a blast with DKCR on the Switch? Big chance that they don't know the original(s).

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Costs $60 On Switch

Cyrax77

@Qwiff

That's correct. All the fuzz about a difference of a couple of dollars. Someone even says: "$50,00 USD at most"

You will be able to get it for around that price very shortly after release, maybe even at launchday. It's just complaing for the sake of it, as you said.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Costs $60 On Switch

Cyrax77

@Kang81

WiiU copy?

Anyways, If I like a game, I will buy it. It doesn't matter to me if they worked on it for 6 years or 6 months. I'm an adult and I have a job. Gaming is my hobby, it's not the biggest problem in the world whether a game I really like cost $ 40,00 or $ 60,00.

Re: Review: Sonic Origins Plus - Not Bad, But Sonic Still Deserves Better

@Bigmanfan

Take a deep breath… Easy now. I think you might miss a couple of Mario games here and there. I love Sonic too, but Mario is more my cup of tea.

And that doesn’t mean I don’t now about gaming history. Fact is that overall, Mario games have had a lot more influence on the industry. Denying that makes no sense. Calling games like Super Mario World simplistic is making you the fanboy tbh

And again, I love Sonic games. I am a gamer
