Please let the smartphone/tablet "gaming" fad DIE ALREADY! I hate playing those stupid 5 min time killers, sorry to all who enjoy gaming on those devices but Its really not my cup of tea, I take my 3DS XL almost every where, even to work, just so I can play during my break.

So how exactly does it work? Nintendo buys back its own stocks so who manages them or is entitled to them? Not 100% how all that works

First smash bros on the 64 they gave us 12 characters, melee we got 26 and for brawl we got 37, so the roster has been increasing every generation, all I'm trying to say is that I hope the trend continues, I don't expect 50 characters but I hope the 3DS' capabilities doesn't hinder the Wii U version on account that the rosters will be the same.

Just so all of you know, Nintendo is giving away Legend of Zelda four Swords on the e-shop for the 3DS in the US, not sure if the UK or Europe has the same promo, it said for a limited time so check it out!

Definitely good news for me, I bought 9 Wii U games (not including VC games) and I bought 7 3DS games (not including indie and VC games) in 2013, so who ever says the Wii U doesn't have games is crazy!

Its sad really that a console (Wii U) with so much potential is seeing the fate it's seeing, but it can't ve denied that way too many mistakes where made

@Ic3pick039, I bought a copy of xenoblade chronicles for christmas and so far all I can say is that the game is EPIC, but its definitely not a game for casuals. If you like Jrpgs like myself than you will definitely enjoy every aspect of this masterpiece.

Would be nice if Nintendo updated the Wii U for two gamepads support, and actually sold gamepads at retail stores. My only fear for the wii u is that my gamepad breaks :/

Still have faith this will release for the Wii U, day one buy for me, but if it does get cancelled then I guess I can keep some of my money.

$299 is just fine, what Nintendo needs is an agressive ad campaign showing that the Wii U has games for everyone, it has Mario 3D World (family friendly), The Wonderful 101 (hardcore beat em up gameplay) COD (for the dudebros) great indie titles and all those extra features!!! Netflix, hulu plus, amazon instant video, Nintendo Tvii, etc. What happend to the marketing team who came up with the "Wii would like to play" adds? Those where awesome and showed mostly adults and teens playing the Wii not like the kiddy family friendly BS we where seeing this holiday with the Wii U -.-
I'm just saying that it's common sense that kids love video games, Nintendo should cater a little more to actual gamers and at least try and balance it out a little because for a while it feels like they are forgetting about us, it can't all be for casuals!

Just as long as they speed up the combat a bit more melee style then I'll be happy, I know Sakurai-san is trying to get the gameplay mechanics to feel like if its between melee and brawl, and don't get me wrong brawl was great but I felt it was way to "floaty" compared to melee.

@unrandomsam, It's just my personal opinion but I can't stand gaming on IOS or android devices it just doesn't feel right, I still haven't tried any of the the periforals that are on the market but I don't plan on spending 100 plus dollars (depending on the periforal) just to try and make gaming on mobile decices "better"

I absolutely hate mobile gaming on android and ios devices, I tried out a few games on my ipad and my iphone but ultimately erased them all, just doesn't deliver a good gaming experience IMO.

Well, incoming the "Nintendo is doomed mob". Honestly what most people have said about the Wii U not hitting its 9M mark was as obvious as the light of day, but I still think the Wii U is going to pick up substantially in 2014. The line up of games that are on the way are great, Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros , project CARS, watch dogs, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, (probably) a new COD, and all the games I still haven't mentioned!

Definate day one buy for my Wii U game collection! xD

Don't see myself picking this one up, just got done with W101 and started xenoblade chronicles (never played it before) and I still have Sonic Lost World to get to and I have to find time to get back to Monster hunters 3 Ultimate (Never played a Monster Hunters game before either)

For all those people that whine about 3rd party support but don't buy them when we actually get them should really just shut up, if your crying over this subject and haven't bought ANY third party titles in 2013 then like I said STFU -.-
A good example would be W101, great game and waaaay underrated!

@Thearnaud44 , definitely YES!!! A metroid prime hunters sort of Multiplayer with online mode but on a much bigger scale!!!

I wanted one, when they where on the NOA site but they sold out crazy fast, any color would of been fine but if I could choose I'd go with the red one. Still waiting to see if Nintendo plans on releasing them again on club Nintendo NA.

@hydeks, still a Nintendo win , no all seeing eye, variety in games, free online gaming, unique gaming experience, more affordable, backwards compatibility... I could keep going.

@Kaze_Memaryu , I understand and thats what I'm trying to say, I honestly haven't found a reason to purchase a PS4, at least not yet and I don't see that changing anytime soon, I am really loving my Wii U & 3DS, and the way 2014 is starting to shape up I'm pretty much booked for my gaming needs, with MK 8, Smash Bros, bayonetta 2, watch dogs... The list goes on, 2014 is going to be a good year to be a Nintendo gamer.

@Kaze_Memaryu , I mostly said it will be tuff competition because of the hype, I and many others are fine with last gen (ps3/360) and Wii U as there next gen console of choice, but that hasn't stopped the PS4 from breaking sales records left and right, and yes their games library is pretty bad and as mentioned by you, 2014 really doesn't show me any must have games I can't get on last gen. I just hope Nintendo keeps doing good, I'm sick of people complaining about a console (Wii U) they have never owned or tried for themselves.

When does the PS4 release in Japan? I only ask because even though it doesn't have any must have games at the moment it's still going to be tuff competition for the Wii U on their home land.

That set is absolutely amazing, I never win any of these things but it is still ok to day dream.

@TreesenHauser , I agree with you that E 3 announcement was all I needed from Nintendo to restore my faith, after deciding to not do a formal E 3 press conference but a rather Nintendo Direct approach, all in all 3DS really shined this year with so many great exclusives but my favorite of the bunch has to be Fire Emblem Awakening, amazing game & for the Wii U even though it went through a drought the first half of the year we still got awesome content little by little, favorite Wii U game 2013 Wonderful 101 most underrated game on the console, if you haven't played it try it.

I know this might be a little off topic but I hate the fact that Nintendo isn't giving any promotion to the pro controller, all I see in adds are game pad and wii mote use like the pro controller doesn't exist

I own a Wii U & a 3DS and so far just with these two systems I have more games than I can handle at the moment I just bought sonic lost world & monster humters 3 Wii U on sale, plus I've been playing Mario 3D world and COD ghosts for Wii U. When I'm at work on my lunch break I pull out my 3DS for pokemon Y but I still have to get back to Kid Icarus and Not to mention Wonderful 101. Plus I got to spend time with my girl friend! Basically what I'm trying to say is that I'm very happy with my Wii U & 3DS combo so I wont need any other console for a while

I own luigis mansion DM, pokemon Y, Animal crossing NL, Shin Megami Tensei 4, the legend of zelda ALBW and a few other games, Basically almost every big 3DS exclusive to be released in 2013 and I still say with pride andd joy that Fire Emblem Awakening is my 3DS GOTY, truly worthy of being called a masterpiece .

@TheRealThanos , I know it's about time they got it in high gear, did you see the new Wii Fit U ad? Very good also, makes you look at the Wii U like something more than a game console and more like a new experience with the fit meter, not that the Christmas adds where bad but just makes the "Hardcore" audience think of Nintendo like the baby console more than they already do.

@erv , install base, it sucks that Wii U owners tend to get lazy ports but reality is that developers and publishers are in it to make money, and not many Wii U owners are putting there money where there mouth is, quick example would be how every body is always crying for new IP's but don't buy them when they release like what happened with Wonderful 101 (Amazing game BTW)
