Re: Feature: How Video Games Can Be Brilliant For Your Mental Health

Interesting. The more stressed out or depressed or whatever the less video games help. I either get more angry with them which rapidly turns to apathy or guilt and the slow “relaxing” games make me incredibly anxious due to their pace. Haven’t found a good solution yet just need to wait it out.

Glad they help some people through tough spells though.

@shgamer I think the deck will be a compliment to the Switch. Nintendo isn’t interested enough to keep up with tech which is creating an ever growing gap so I think the deck will fill that void. I’ll get one at some point but like you say, let it mature a bit, and maybe get one with an improved battery life. Portable gaming is my preferred style and having both systems would be ideal for me.

Evil Dead baybeeeee! Leveling up my Necromancer and demolishing survivors is a delight I don’t often experience in gaming anymore.

Maybe I’ll give Jurassic World Evolution 2 a go as well later. Also tempted to play Super Mario World, it’s been ages and I’ve never played all the way through for some reason.

@Serpenterror it’s polish and it’s nice to have sometimes. Mk8 is a beautiful game and if someone wants to bring an old track up to par because Nintendo often implements, and is financially rewarded for, “bare minimum” cough cough Switch Sports cough cough practices then that’s cool.

At the end of the day it’s a fun game but isn’t getting the development attention a game like this needs to thrive: Free to play. Regular content drip. More polish. Outfits.

It’d be a shame to let the game die ‘cause its bones are good. But it’s not looking good.

I lost my career of 15 years. I am trying to figure out what to do next while my wife had been laid off. It's a pandemic. And we are expecting our first child in February. It's nutty right now but I've been comforted by Bloodborne. The environment is so immersive and dark. It's just resonating with me right now and I spend a couple hours with it a night. Can't wait for Demons Souls.
