This might sound odd but one of the reasons (beside the superb gameplay) Rush Rally is so good are the 'outdated' and simple graphics. No fancy lightning and trillions of unnecessary GFX blastering the screen. simple, clean, lowish poly landscapes....reduced to the basics. You can concentrate entirely on your driving.
That's also one of the reason I'm still regulary playing Rally Championship on my Gamecube. My fav rally game of all times
IMO this should not even be a speculation. Breath of the Wild 1 was developed based on the freaking WiiU hardware. that said, why shouldn't BOTW2 look that much better?
I hope that they will release far more "total conversions". There are dozens of these out there which are completely new FPS games, just running on the Doom engine.
Don't get me wrong: I was already surprised that they released/allowed REKKR on Doom I+II for switch but, as I said before, there are way more out there. really REALLY good ones.
@Atariboy
I think there is a higher chance we get all the licensed games than Slipstream.
Slipstream is rather unique as it's the only Capcom arcade game which uses "rival" hardware. In this case Sega's System 32.
speaking of licensed games. I don't think they are "impossible". People tend to overestimate the 'license hazzle'. especially if there is only one license involved.
You can see countless cases of revived movie+TV licensed (arcade)games in the last couple of years.
i.e. The Arcade One Up machines which include Simpsons, Turtles, Tron, Terminator 2, Marvel, etc etc
Hell, even Capcom (via KochMedia) revived the rather complicated AvP license for their arcade beat'em up to put it on their stupid-ass arcade stick.
Anyone else surprised that Capcom didn't mind that they had a (scaling) Racer in the 90s with the literal same name?
"overused 80s style"
That's a strange complain as IMO you have to differentiate between 80s pixelart and 80s(and 90s) (super)Scaler.
There are hundrets of 80s pixelart games on switch and how many scalers? maybe 10 and 80% of them are racers.
Non-racing scalers like Rambo III, GI Joe, Arabian Fight, Galaxy Force (II) and Thunder Blade are sadly missing.
Which is odd as the 3DS had SUPERB M2 ports of Thunder Blade and Galaxy Force.
yes because it's portable. I can fit the switch rather easiely in my backpack. an additional 33+cm device makes the switch pretty much stationary. This is like buying a second sceen for a gameboy or a PSP/vita. it makes no sense and even less in the switch situation as it already features it's own "removable" screen.
You can NOT just buy a japanese company. even if you have all the money in the world. thats also the reason you see so few foreign buyouts/takeovers of japanese companies. a financially superhealthy company like nintendo with a HUGE historical background will never be bought by an US company. Thats why Nintendo literally laughed their asses off when MS made an attempt for a takeover in the gamecube era.
This is the new Bugatti Veyron. Since it's only 6 times as expensive, an absolute luxury item only a lucky few can afford and not pratical at all; let's check it out to give us a foresight into the next Toyota Corolla.
also: given it's (physically-limited shrinkable) footprint a Hall effect sensor is basicely a nogo for any serious handheld.
I might add that I would literally finance a M2 collection of Twin Eagle I+II for Switch at this point. Twin Eagle II is my fav shmup of all times. It might be a bit too easy but its such a blast(literally) to play. holy crap. You can blow up everything on screen. Houses, skyscrapers, trees, cars.
'Normally' Armed Police Batrider alone would make it worth BUT I'm 100% sure that the game will also receive a stand alone(Hamster)- or collection release (of course with TATE mode) on switch at some point. So, I will save the money (for now)
it's rather shocking to see that many people here don't seem to give a crap about piracy or 'justice' per se. That guy made millions(!) with basicely stolen stuff. This has nothing to do with "preservation". Do you REALLY think this man gives a single sh*t about "saving games for future generations"?
but yeah keep on defending that poor excuse of a human being because of "evil corps". I dunno what Nintendo's policies have anything to do with that. If you don't like them, don't agree to them and don't buy their software (this is not a free-ticket to piracy btw). I don't understand how you can support a company THAT evil and 'abusive' by any means.
best FPS in years. so fast, so atmosperic the switch port is SUPERB.
@all also get the classic Dooms (1,2,64) the latest free add-on maps for doom 2 are basicley brandnew games. incl. new textures, new songs, better lightning etc some add-on maps are also much(!) better in design than the original levels. Doom 1+2 with all the free add-on maps offer maybe around 100-120hours of great and brutally difficult oldschool fpsing for hardly 10bucks. cant beat that
it most def. is a great game but for some reason I prefer the original double dragon neogeo fighter. it's so barebones and I just love the 90s-styled bitmap pixelart.
I hope it gets a switch release someday and isnt in some sort of rights-limbo
how about stop promoting this stuff with articles like this??? afaik the only way to play the emulated game legally(!) right now is going through tons of hazzle.
yeah but no watch the dig foundry video. the switch versions run circles around the ps360 versions in like every aspect. it's certainly not "on par" but way above
dunno why you always have to downplay switch ports.
this is one of the best FPS ever. I kid you not. superfast with tons of punch behind the weapons. i'm waiting since forever for the switch releases. hell yes!!!
@Josh2396 tbh this isn't THAT hard to do. all you need is some basic soldering skills and some imagination where to cram the switch+dock innards into a NES shell.
awww free switch doom wads. I still remember sigil giving me maniacal outbursts playing on the toilet.
maybe someday they will give Brutal Doom also an approval. oh and for gods sake, gimme Wolfenstein 3D on switch already. the only reason i'm still operating my ps3
the OLED switch also benefits greatly in the heat department. LCD screens emit traditionally a 'lot' of heat while OLED screens stay FAR cooler. The fans don't have to go constantly nuts and that will also save tons of energy/battery life.
I really don't get it people being suddenly surprised or even offended by games like that.
I mean, Nintendo allowed full-blown real(!) strippers getting bare-breasted in over 20min of FMV in BMX XXX for gamecube. stuff sony heavily censored on PS2.
I don't see a problem with games like these. They are clearly marked on the eshop. If you don't like them, don't buy them. simple as that.
also: I didn't see as much alarm when naked women were constantly 'shown' throughout God of War or Witcher III. even worse, they were not much more than playmates ("sex toys") in these games. double standards?
While the game is indeed great and very fun to play, I have to say the darksiders dungeons are nowhere even close to a Zelda dungeon in terms of design and complexity. Zelda dungeons are just brilliantly designed though and through.
@ Bass X0 The Wii version of King of Fighter Collection(and Samurai Shodown collection) got rid of all the problems of the PS2 version. they are arcade perfect ports

2 things:
1) You do realize that MS needs(!) Nintendo to get it even released on xbox live?
2) Nintendo was the one who got it unbanned in germany. Why the hell would they do that for a game which only gets released on a rival console?
