Hamster's made it to the final month of the year and it's started out with Taito's action-platformer arcade title, Liquid Kids.
This game made its debut in the arcades in 1990 and was followed by a number of home console ports. Here's a bit more about it, along with a look - courtesy of Nintendo Life contributor Gonçalo Lopes:
*This game uses the Japanese ROM for the main part of the game.
The options menu and manual are available in Japanese, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
“Liquid Kids” is an action game released by TAITO in 1990. Take control of the young hero from the hippo tribe, Hipopo , and battle against the Fire Demon to protect the peaceful Woody Lake. An adventure of danger and excitement is just beginning."
As usual, the latest Arcade Archives release will set you back $7.99 or your regional equivalent. Will you be adding this one to your Switch home menu? Tell us down in the comments.

Cool, ya I’ll probably pick this up
The game definitely plays like a single screen ‘kill ‘em up’ style game but is actually a scrolling adventure. Perhaps initially it was developed as a kill ‘em up style game but evolved later in dev
this one is pretty good.
Liquid Kids sounds like slang for a certain bodily fluid.
The Japanese and only available console versions of this game (Mizubaku Daibouken) fetch big money. The Saturn game sells for £400 and the PC Engine version around £200 so it’s great to see it receive an affordable release.
Perfect game for this series,... will surely get this...
Great game, hopefully more Taito to come.
Yes! Definitely picking this one up.
@Longondo I've been praying for a Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands, Parasol Stars, Bubble Symphony and Bubble Memories collection to be released on Switch.
This should be great for Caravan mode. I'll download it tonight.
If you think about it, Hamster and Arcade Archive are doing a true virtual-console style preservation of these games. Especially hamster who typically has the most accurate emulation
Arcade Archive, consistently reminding you how great and imaginative these companies USED to be.
this is good news, 100% grabbing this on the weekend
Awesome! Glad to see another good hidden gem get on the ACA line of games!
This is awesome! I just put this game on my at home arcade machine. But playing it on the go will be dope
@Jayenkai Dude absolutely. I have so many of these games that consistently surprise me at how fun they are. This is one I've been waiting for for a while, so now all I need is Dragon Breed and I have my dream games.
Liquid Kids is a great game, but the game is worth buying just for the first world's background music.
I want Operation Wolf! 😁
@joey302 I wonder if Taito is hesitant about re-releasing it due to epilepsy concerns. I suppose they could use the version featured on Taito Legends for Xbox which removes the flash effect, but then people would complain that it wasn't the authentic original.
Hack into the mainframe and find out when Blazing Laserz is coming out on Hamster console Archives.
@speedyb selfishly I’d want the original version and you make a good point but majority of games have the epilepsy warnings and tons of flashing effects etc
Did they remove it on Legends? Hmmm I’d have to boot that up one day soon and have a look see.
Either way I want Hamster to bring it! Lol
@joey302 The flash effect was only removed on the Xbox version for some reason. The PS2 version still has the flash effect when you shoot.
They have 47 licensed Taito classics on the AtGames System so no excuse from Hamster to release these classics to Nintendo Switch.
This looks like fun. It’s nice to see these games get rerelease.
