From all of the gamers I know, I'm pretty sure it would be more accurate to say the PlayStation generation, not the Nintendo Generation. Furthermore, for all I know he's just another treasonweasel like a certain loudmouth retired General that shouldn't be a free man right now.

@Joeynator3000 Anything ..50 has only been good for more basic games. 1060 was good when it was released pushing many games that I was playing at 4k and upwards of 60fps.

Sony needs to stick with their under powered pc's in plastic cases, that seems to be where their cult following is. The same games just regurgitated for portable use has never worked overly well for them. With Nintendo as the dominant player in the handheld area from the start and with things like Steam Deck, what would be the point in another PS portable?

N64 was one of the best gaming system ever! ...and I've owed pretty much every system.

@BlackenedHalo The PS5 is technically subpar to my gaming PC, so what's your point? Anyone who equates a video game systems technical specs to the amount of fun that can be had with said system has completely missed the point to gaming in the first place.

The N64 not competing with the PlayStation commercially has far more to do with Sony's underhanded tactics they used to get retailers to push their system and force others to carry it.

I had a friend that managed Electronic Boutique at the time. He said that it was widely know at the time that Sony was using secret shoppers to visit stores that sold the PlayStation and competing systems. If a customer came in and asked about a competing system and the sales rep steered them towards a PS, if that customer just happened to be a secret shopper, that sales person could win one of many different prizes. I personally witnessed this on several occasions.

Sony also used strong arm tactics on some retailers that didn't carry video games at all like Circuit City telling them if they didn't carry the PlayStation then they were no longer allowed to sell other Sony products. Sony TV's at the time were still selling well, so retailers like Circuit City agreed.

@B_Lindz Illegally pirate games or pay 9.6 cents a day to play them legally. I guess you made your choice.

@Screen It breaks down to 14 cents a day. Where else are you going to be able to play N64 games against other only? If you don't want the service, fine but I'm tired of people acting like Nintendo is trying to rip them off. It's 14 fricken cents a day.

NN is $19.99/yr for the individual subscription. Anyone who thinks that $1.67/month is too much should probably not be spending their money on video games in the first place. We have 6 of us on the family subscription, so it only cost us $0.49/month per person. Seriously, that's not a "rip-off".

@Noid The site charged people for premium access and also had Switch game ROMS available for download. Only a fricken moron would be that stupid. Make him pay the $2.1 million then lock him up, he deserves it. Only entitled morons would try to justify his actions.

Pretty much guarantee that 99% of the initial batch went to scalpers. Sad that people who want new systems on their release day rarely get them anymore.

I've had a Steam account for a very long time. I bought an Alienware Alpha with Steam OS when they came out and I have a Steam Deck on pre-order. However, anyone that thinks the Steam Deck is going to put some huge dent in Switch sales is in for a rude awakening. Most of us Steam users are use to playing on PC's that can do 4k at 60+fps on Ultra settings. While the novelty of playing your steam games on a dedicated "handheld" will be fun at first, the low specs of the system compared to gaming PC's will quickly become apparent. The next issue is the thing is a big ugly monstrosity. While I'm fine pulling my tablet or Switch out on a plane, I can't imagine trying to use the Steam Deck on a plane. So, why did I pre-order one? Well, I buy all the new systems. Keeping it for very long is probably unlikely, but we'll see.

@hammers1man If you buy the optional dock, it is similar to the Switch, but at a higher price and wont have the Nintendo exclusives. Besides, you have to see one of these in a persons hands. The system is fricken huge...far bigger (with the same size screen) then the Switch OLED.

@YANDMAN Far from light years ahead as it's basically a very under powered gaming pc. No dock at the $399 price, no OLED, same size screen, same base storage and about the same native resolution. I'm buying one (I also pre-ordered the Switch OLED), but it wont effect Switch sales much as it wont play the latest greatest Nintendo exclusives.

@pitchblack What good would more Ram do? No one would program games to depend on the additional Ram as they'd shut out the majority of Switch owners from buying their games.

@Yosher I've played it in the arcade, it's a great game. I'll definitely be picking it up for Switch.

I had all of the color variants in the US and a Panasonic Q. The Panasonic Q wins hands down.

Comparing the MHz or GHz speed of one processor over another means nothing. People have been doing this for as long as I can remember and it's silly. There are 1GHz processors out today that will run circles around 3GHz processors of the past. Besides that, consoles have supporting chips that take the load off the CPU. Saying that one console is "faster" than another based solely on the clock speed of it's CPU is a mistake.

@Andy_Witmyer We're just a little over a month in and we sit at 34,384 deaths from Covid-19 in the US. That's with 43 out of 50 states having some form of "Stay At Home" order in place plus social distancing. If you seriously think that the mortality rate is on level with the flu, you're just kidding yourself. We currently have 57,232 recovered cases and 34,384 deaths out of 673,215 total confirmed cases. If no one out of the remaining 581,599 died, we would still have a mortality rate of 5.9%. You people need to stop guessing at this stuff as it just makes you look foolish.

Who plays EA games anymore anyways? I have a gaming PC, Xbox One X, Switch plus pretty much all the systems before those. I don't remember the last time that I played an EA game.

Funny, I have a Switch, Xbox One X, gaming PC plus other older systems. I simply choose not to play EA games on any of them. There are too many good games that I don't have time for as it is, why would I want to help a crap company like EA out?

I wish that I could sell 200,000 of something in 3 months and have it be considered dead.

I've seen a lot of signs lately that make it look like Nintendo's clearing current stock to make room for something new.

Underwhelming?!? 1,000,000+ sales for a $70 box of cardboard. How is that underwhelming? I'm sure Nintendo's pleased.

I DO NOT like the looks of this thing especially the buttons blending in to the graphic. I'd rather they use character artwork and sold color buttons and do away with the "Capcom" altogether. I might have considered this at full price, but now I'll wait for it to hit the bargain bins.
