Re: Video: Digital Foundry Breaks Down the Resolution and Framerate in Splatoon 2

Amsterdamsters

@Fitkong I played it on my 65" 4k TV and it looked great. My son played it on his Switch and he didn't have any complaints. People need to stop being so fixated on pixel count and more on game play. I have a high end gaming computer that runs almost everything that I throw at it in 4k 60+fps ultra settings. I still love to play games on the Wii U, Xbox One and Switch even though they are lower res. When you're zooming around the screen, you really don't have time to care about 720p or 1080p. There is far more that goes into how the game looks on the screen than just the resolution. Kind of like people who buy $100 cameras with high pixel count and brag about it even though they take poopy pictures.

@RazorThin The game is the spiritual successor to Hydro Thunder. It's a deluxe sit down game, but no, you don't have to sit on a Jet Ski. Truly awesome game though. Disney Quest is a 5 story deluxe arcade that is located in the West Side of Disney Springs (was Downtown Disney). It never lived up to what Disney wanted, so it's coming to an end. Disney had originally planned to have around 7 of them around the world and did have one in Chicago too, but only for a short period of time.

@RazorThin I would love for the original Daytona USA arcade game to be on the Switch. I had bought it for the Saturn when it first came out and played it like crazy. One game that I'd really like to see on Switch is H2Overdrive. My kids and I played the crap out of that every time we'd go to Disney World as they had several machines at Disney Quest. Sadly, DQ is closing it's doors before I make my next trip there

@ieatdragonz I bought the game and if you enjoy math, problem solving and basic programing you should like it. I'm aces at math and problem solving, but haven't programed in a very long time. I found that the higher levels are a little more challenging and will take a little longer to figure out. Overall, I'm glad that I bought it.

Re: The Greatest Arcade Golf Game Ever Made Is Coming To Nintendo Switch This Week

@SLIGEACH_EIRE The problem is that I've read way too many of your negative comments on this site about the Switch in forums relating to the Switch and/or it's games. If you don't like it or want one, then why are you here? My reply was in your response to not wanting someone else replying to your comment. If you're tired of people replying to your comments, then maybe you shouldn't be so negative.

Re: Video: How To Completely Avoid Scratching Your Nintendo Switch's Screen When Docking

Amsterdamsters

Again, a story for a problem that pretty much doesn't exists. Both my son and I have Switches and neither of ours has had any problems at all after being docked and removed dozens of times. The couple other people who I know that have them have had no problems. The one picture that is circulating the internet the most that shows scratches on the screen of the Switch were in no way caused by the dock. Why do we need to keep talking about this like it's effecting everyone?!?

@DanteSolablood Nintendo owns the trademarks, the three companies together have the copyrights. Here's and excerpt from The Pokemon
Company wiki page..."Since 2001, nearly all licensed Pokémon products have "©Pokémon" in the copyright acknowledgments with the usual three of "©Nintendo", "©GAME FREAK inc." and "©Creatures Inc." Despite this, Nintendo is the sole owner of the Pokémon trademark.[7] The video games, Pokémon Trading Card Game and licensed toys are still being made by third- and second-party companies such as Tomy."

Re: Random: Check Out This Travel Nintendo Switch DIY Dock

Amsterdamsters

@BAN I agree. There has been one main picture circulating of scratches on the Switch supposedly from the dock. There was no way the dock made those scratches. Unless you're completely careless or have something sharp stuck to the inside of your dock, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Both my son and I each have a Switch and have had zero problems with them. Most of the people who comment on the "problems" don't even have a Switch.

Re: Don't Buy Another Switch Dock Just Yet

@JohnnyC 32GB memory is not a rushed system problem. If they had waited another 6 months, it most likely would have still had 32GB. As for the other problems...what percent of units are effected buy them?!? All electronics have a small percent of defects out of the box. Both my son and I each have one. Mine was bought in Michigan and his in Illinois, and neither of us have had any problems at all. The problem is that some people just have nothing better to do than to slam something that they don't have because they fear it's going to have a negative impact on their beloved item....Sadly, the internet is filled with fanboys. I've owned pretty much every system ever released. I would never judge anything without first extensively using it.

Re: Don't Buy Another Switch Dock Just Yet

Amsterdamsters

@TrumpsHand Mine too. No problems at all. The one picture that I've seen that's been reposted all over the internet of scratches that were supposedly caused by the dock were not caused by a good dock. Maybe their dock had something stuck to the inside of it or maybe it wasn't the dock at all.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch Will Support Micro SDXC Cards Up To 128GB In Capacity

Amsterdamsters

@Frank90 If you think for a minute that the Switch is going to have that much storage built in, you might as well just give up now as it's not going to happen. Nintendo has stressed many times that this is not a system that competes with the PS4/Xbox One. It's something different, which I for one am perfectly fine with. I enjoy gaming on pretty much all devices (phones, tablets, handhelds, consoles, computers). If I want something powerful to play huge games on, I have my gaming computer which the PS4/Xbox One can't even begin to compete with.

Now, lets see you walk out your door and to a park playing your PS4/Xbox One games without the next for yet another device to stream the game on and without lag or data usage. If you want to play those big games either play them on your computer/PS4/Xbox One or buy them on cartridge (game card) for the Switch. At that point, the SD card in the system would mostly be needed for updates and game saves.

I imagine that the switch will come with 4GB Ram, either 16GB or 32GB flash storage and a Micro SD card slot (currently as large as 512GB, but can be up to 2TB). People need to think of the Switch more as what it is, a Nintendo tablet that you can dock to a TV and not something like a dedicated console that stays tethered to your TV like it's 1977.
