@azelf I held off on the Pro Controller for awhile too, but ended up with a $20 gift card and bought one then. It's only priced $10 more than a PS4 or Xbox One controller and really is a great controller.
Before you female dog about a Switch dock that comes with a charger and HDMI cable being $89.99, what it gives you is the ability to drop your Switch into it on another TV anywhere... another room in your house, a family members house etc... Now, you can get this + a 64GB Micro SD card for your Switch for $112.98 or less, or you could buy a 64GB memory card for your Vita for $109.99. I'm thinking that this is the better deal.
@ieatdragonz I'm not sure what Switch supplies are like there, but around me the stock got built up for the release of MK8D, but have all since vanished again. That could very well have something to do with the lower sales numbers on the system...people can't find them.
@Tarvaax I'm not confusing anything my friend. Running through an emulator with filters on is completely different then Nintendo just upping the resolution on the screen in the New 2DS XL. Nintendo never goes that route, otherwise all of the VC games on the Wii U would have the option to have improved visuals. 3DS games are programmed in their native resolution on the upper screen of 400 x 240 in 2D. Making the resolution of the screen say 800 x 480 would not make the games look better unless the games were updated to take advantage of the higher resolution or they put a super powerful processor in the thing that could re-render the 3d models to make them look a little better. If you want better visuals then what the 3DS/2DS offers, but a Switch.
@Tarvaax No, the resolution is not better and nor would a single one of the 1,000+ games for the 3DS/2DS look any better anyways. At least not without a huge update to the game which extremely few developers would even consider doing. I think a lower priced 2D XL is a great idea, but I have to agree with someone else here that mentioned that it should be $129.99.
@NEStalgia IIRC, the original PS2 and original PS3 had power buttons on them that had to be shut off to completely cut power to the system. The Switch like other similar devices tend to stay in a sleep mode and rarely need to be shut down completely.
@faint Though Saber said that the patch would be just a few days after the game is released. Is it going to take that extra few day for Nintendo to just decide to open their servers to them or could it be that the online portion of the game for the Switch just wasn't ready in time when they submitted the game for approval?!?
@Indielink You "think" that it's Nintendo being dumb. Could it maybe be that Saber didn't have the online ready in time and didn't want to postpone the release?!? It's always so easy for you guys to "blame" Nintendo for everything. So damn much whining.
@Kalmaro Reminds me a bit of Jeff Minter's work...I'd love a new Tempest (or TxK) game for the Switch. For that matter, pretty much anything Jeff would put on the Switch would be worth looking at.
@Reverandjames I find the mentality on some things today funny. This game looks like it's going to be great, has new and retro graphics which is always cool and it only cost $40. The SF games that came out on the Super Nintendo were all $50 and $60. While I get that times have changed, I just don't see why anyone would complain about this being $40. Will this game be less fun then the SF games from the 90's? As for me, I already pre-ordered it on Amazon so with my Prime discount, it as $32.
@Spoony_Tech Back then I still watched TV that had commercials. I saw tons of Wii commercials. While I only watch Netflix now, I have seen a lot of Switch commercials when I go to the movies and I even saw one the other day on a local full size billboard (one of the digital ones that changes ads)...that one shocked me.
@thesilverbrick The Wii was the fifth best selling system so far...so four others have already sold better. If Nintendo gets a study stream of AAA games out on the thing including main line Pokemon and Monster Hunter games, it will do just fine.
@Julien My son bought the game and took it and his Switch over to a friends house where a bunch of his friends had gotten together. He said at first there wasn't too much interest in him setting it up on the TV, so he just went ahead and did it anyway. In the end they spent over two hours "having a blast" with it. I've played the game, I can see how it would be a lot of fun in a room with lots of people participating...one or two people, not as much. It is a party game after all.
@Bunkerneath Selling 3 million games on Wii U for the next fiscal year should be pretty easy as there's still tons of software in distribution that has to sell through yet.
I have a 65" 4K TV and played the game pre update and post update in battle mode and haven't even seen the difference in resolution. Some people get so would up about resolution, but unless your looking at still images, it's not always easy to tell the difference especially in a fast moving game.
@MarcelRguez I had S&SASR on the PS3 and never played the Wii version. It's been a long time since I played it, but if irc, the tracks are different, power ups were different and you were only in your kart, no boat or plane areas. Sonic All Star Racing Transformed was called a true sequel for what it's worth.
@NintySnesMan You can believe what you want. All I did was to state the fact that the majority of his messages in these forms are completely negative. I didn't say a single negative thing about his family, I just feel sorry for them if he's this way around them all the time. As for me, I have a family member who is way too negative and it's hard on the people around them.
@MarcelRguez If you've played Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing and Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed, they're quite different. Also, the game came out on the PS3, Vita, Xbox 360 & Wii U all on the same day 11/18/2012 in the US. I'm not sure how that made it an "old game". I'm glad that it came out on the Wii U as it was(is) a fantastic game that help my MK cravings until MK8 came out.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE ...right... Anyway, some people might agree with you on this one subject (overpriced), but I'm not the only one to call you out for your constant negativity. I bet your family just loves to be around you...
@MarcelRguez All-Stars Transformed was an updated game and 2nd only to the MK series. I'm hoping that they bring out a sequel to that on the Switch. I'd also love to see a new entry in The House of the Dead series...
@NESlover85 Best Buy has had it on sale a couple of times for $39.99 and with their gamers club the price was $31.99. I picked it up then and it's a blast multi player.
@Fashegoy Oh, but the Switch isn't a console it's a portable and you can't compare those to consoles....The Switch sold over 8 times as many systems as the Vita did...but, the Switch isn't a portable, so you can't compare those.... That about sums them up.
The Switch alone sold 1.63 times as much as all non Nintendo systems combined... All Nintendo systems combined sold 2.49 times as many systems as Sony and Microsoft combined...or should I just say Sony?!? The 142 Xbox Ones didn't do much to the ratio
@SLIGEACH_EIRE If you have Prime or Best Buy Games Club, the game will be $48+tax (pre-order on Prime). If you bought the retail version for your Wii U, sell it on eBay and clear $23 (or more) after fees/shipping or sell it on Craig's List for $30. It ends up costing as little as $18 + the tax to "upgrade" Seems simply enough to me. When available it makes no sense to me as to why anyone would buy a digital version of a 1st party Nintendo game. They hold their value better than any and over time can be worth as much or more than what you paid.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE That is a deal as the cheapest I've seen it for before today was $150. I wouldn't buy is as there's no need for one that big at this time and the price will keep dropping. The price on the 128GB is a good one and would last most people quite a long time. Now, you want to talk about a stupid price, you can get a 64GB Vita one on Amazon for ... you guessed it, $119.99. So, a 128GB one for the Switch for $33 or half that size for the Vita for $120?
@Gold_Ranger The only time that mine is docked is when it's being charged or we're playing on the big screen. Otherwise when it's not being played it sit on my desk close to me
@JLPick I find comments like yours interested as you do realize that Nintendo doesn't actually manufacture these, right? The Switch is manufactured by Foxconn in China for Nintendo. There's a whole lot more involved here then walking out into your plant and telling a supervisor to increase production.
NOTE: If you haven't already done so, manually update your game on Switch if it didn't auto update. It fixes some of the issues from the video above. I received my game today and played it a bit. I noticed that it didn't update, so I manually updated and started it again. The police sign and brightness in the police station look better now.
Okay, so I watched the whole comparison video and I own both copies of the game. Normally I don't comment on these videos because you're not watching each game in their native resolution. Other than the odd issue with the police department sign and dark characters in the police department, Id say that pretty much every thing else looks better on the Switch. Everything looks crisper and at a better contrast as the Wii U version looks far more washed out. Outside definitely looks far better on the Switch. We loved the one on Wii U and I purchased this one mainly for the two player option...which we haven't had a chance to try out yet. Make sure that you download the update to the game. My copy came in today and I played it some and noticed that it hadn't updated, so I manually updated it. btw...I just went back and started a new game after I updated and the police sign no longer looks horrible...
Nothing has changed. I pre-ordered this and Binding the day they were listed on Amazon and they had the release date of this game listed as 12/29/17 then. They do that with most of the games that they don't have a fairly firm release date on. That date doesn't mean anything.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE At this point, the system is staying pretty much sold out. No company would lower the price on an item that they're having a hard time keeping stocked. The price drop will come when the system cost less to manufacture and sales start falling behind target. As for right now, the price is right where it should be.
@BenAV I'm super anal about, well everything. With the Switch though, you'll never really even know that they're not in the same place. The only way to know is to go into settings, data management, manage software and under the game title it shows it's size and where it's located. From the home screen, you'd never know.
@BenAV Just curious as to why you wanted to move your existing games over to the SD card? Any new downloads would go there so memory on the system shouldn't be a problem. Also, games will load a bit faster from the internal storage on the Switch versus the SD card.
