Re: Review: Owlboy (Switch eShop)

AlbertXi

This is Pixelart done right, I have this game on PC and I have been really tired of pixel art lately because I feel is a cheap way to make things easier and faster and hide all the defects.

This game instead it is what pixel art is all about, it reminds me of Monkey Island, the best of sierra game, metal slug.

Not that cheap pixel art style, this I will buy again on Switch and physical

Re: Analogue's Christopher Taber Opens Up On The Super Nt And Future Projects

AlbertXi

I have contacted these guys like a hundred times just asking if they and when they believe they will release a new batch and there is not a single answer to my question.

Not even a "we don't know", or not now, anything. They keep tweeting other stuff, is annoying that companies can just answer a simple question a to a potential client.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Analysis Points To Switch Sonic Forces Being The Worst Version

AlbertXi

My only problem is that I can understand this on Doom or something, but the graphical sacrifice this game provides is just ridiculous.

It goes from 1080p to 720p that is more than half the pixel count, so ok is fine, then we cut the frame rate to half of it.

That is another crazy cut.

We go from pushing 124 million pixels every second on the other systems to just 27 Millions on Switch, so just on raw pixel count switch is pushing almost 5 time less pixels but even with that the game needs to cut on lightning and geometry complexity.

I honestly believe there is a share responsibility here between being a weaker hardware and the developer being lazy honestly.

Re: Talking Point: An Era Ends As Nintendo Continues to Ignore 3D on the 3DS

AlbertXi

I loved the 3D effect, I kept always on.

But I see a lot of selfishness here.

Not a big, deal, I did not used and so on.

Yeah well you can TURN IT OFF, but for those of us who bought not, one, not two, but Three 3DS, because of the 3D as the name IMPLIES, was in part because of the 3D effect.

Now when a game supports 3D you can turn it off, when a game doesn't I can't turn it On, so is basically taking a function that was and IS part of the offer nintendo did to me.

Imagine tomorrow saying Switch can't be play on Tvs Anymore.

This is Nintendo and thir [removed] way of doing things, abandoning functions, like not using the wiipad basically even for the Breath of the Wild they completely abandoned the idea.

Re: Digital Foundry Explores the Framerate and a Resolution Boost in Super Mario Odyssey

AlbertXi

@electrolite77 LOL The Problem is you made an ignorant comment, saying that for Pro they prioritized Resolution, if you had left that part out of the comment, then yes you would have been right, some prioritized looks over FPS, and that is Ok depending on the game.

However saying that for Pro they just upped the resolution because you think they could have changed the FPS instead shows complete ignorance on the subject (being ignorant of something is not a disrespect I bet there of tons of things you know I don't) because as I pointed out you don't know if the limitation was already on the CPU so no matter how much GPU power you add the framerate won't double if the game is CPU dependent.

Stop being a whining boy just because someone corrected you, instead appreciate the time it takes to explain something so you may learn something new.

Re: Digital Foundry Explores the Framerate and a Resolution Boost in Super Mario Odyssey

AlbertXi

@electrolite77 Because you don't grasp a simple concept, Upping the Resolution only taxes the GPU, upping the framerate also taxes the CPU that needs to prepare help the frames in 16.6ms instead of 33.33ms (for 30 fps), the Pro has a much Better GPU, but the cpu is only 30% faster.

If the Cpu was already maxed out that 30% won't take the framerate to 60 no matter what you do.

Why do you think Switch games don't change Framerate according if its or not docked? because the CPU stays the same 1020Mhz, no matter if is docked or not.

So if the CPU is already max out at 30 and is a CPU heavy game, you can only improve things like resolution, shaders or graphics effects that have no effect on the CPU

Re: Digital Foundry Explores the Framerate and a Resolution Boost in Super Mario Odyssey

AlbertXi

@timson72 This is an ignorant comment, it has nothing to do with the resolution or FPS, is not the hardware fault but the software. If the developer try to to do more with the system than it actually can then of course it won't work.

But for example Doom, is 1080p 60fps on PS4 (dynamic res) while is just 720p 30fps on Switch with lower assets.

Is just about Knowing what the system is capable of an adapting the game to it, and Nintendo does this better than anyone.

If they Did this game for Ps4 for example it will be 1080p 60 for sure, and PERFECT 60fps, and much better looking, so the problem is not the hardware, but developers trying to do more than the system can do for the sake of raw pretty graphics over artistic quality.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Suggests That Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition Isn't So Definitive

AlbertXi

@SleeplessKnight what? what is bad about this? Is called KNOWLEDGE, it doesn't mean you can't enjoy the game, is what people do with the information that counts.

Is like saying Knife is what is wrong with society because people use it to kill people, yes but that is not what they are for.

I enjoy a lot learning and seeing this kind of stuff and it helps me with my decision, if I am going to pay for a product I want the best version of the product, if you only have a Switch, then well there is not much you can do, but you can see that and take an informed decision.

I don't know how old are you, but since the time of the NES and Snes, magazines have done vs, comparing releases on different platforms, and not only sega vs nintendo games, but snes vs arcade, 3DO vs PSX and so on.

There is nothing wrong with that, I am more PC oriented person, and I do comparative test and Benchmark on my youtube Channel on different PC configuration so you can understand what to expect depending on a similar PC configuration, how to reach 60fps (if it's possible at all depending on the game and PC) and so on.

So to blame DF for this is stupid, actually I am happy they do because this shows more how much effort a company is putting on a system than another.

And in this case is clear that the prices of the cartridge and manufacturing are affecting developers cost, this would not have happened on Blu Ray even when is a much slower storage format.

There is blame to put here on both Nintendo and Ubisoft for their choices, this does not mean the game has to be less enjoyable for you to play, but you are making a more informed decision, if you had a ps4, wii u and switch and you wanted this game this will be just another factor to take into consideration to play.

Especially when they mention not only the graphics but the fact that the Vita lets you play connected with other friends and for some reason the Switch does not.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Suggests That Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition Isn't So Definitive

AlbertXi

The Problem is that they probably tried to go with the cheapest cartridge possible in order to cut the cost and offer it at the lowest price, going for the full no compressed data meant either 6 or 9Gb which means an 8GB card or a 16GB Card.

Now they are probably using a 4GB one.

However, this is starting to be a ridiculous proposition that this game behaves even worst than on VITA.

This price difference is bad, I said on another post I really wanted to buy Axiom Verge for Switch to have a physical copy but I cannot justify the £10 more than it cost on Switch compare to ps4.

Nintendo needs to fix this and quick because it does not hurt them directly but it will hurt Third Parties and small studios.

Re: Pelda Pro Switch Case Aims To Make Your Dock Redundant

AlbertXi

@SANICBOOM644 Well if you consider correct someone nicely, (by the way he did not correct he just stated his opinion as universal truth), by calling someone else ignorant without having the slight less notion of who I am or what I do for a living then be my guess

Re: Pelda Pro Switch Case Aims To Make Your Dock Redundant

AlbertXi

@tebunker "If you wanna argue the dock is about $20 too expensive we can talk, but you are ignorant of the costs to mfg and the costs of the tech." Are you not making assumptions? Do you honestly think that is a respectful way to talk to anyone because you believe you are better or know better?

"I agree that they are both expensive, I do not think they are a ripoff. That's because I actually understand the tech."

Where am I am putting words in your mouth here?

Please, I repeat what I said, you can get a good converter for about 20 pounds including the manufacturer earn and vendors earn and vat 80 pound is not 20-25 dollars overpriced, 80 pound is 102 Dollars, the dock cost 90 in the US.

lastly, you are the one who behaved like a total jackass and expects people to react how to you? don't try to be a victim here, next time, be respectful instead of thinking you are being a clever ass.

Re: Pelda Pro Switch Case Aims To Make Your Dock Redundant

AlbertXi

@tebunker Man you need to calm down on your ass behaviour you don't know me or know what I do for life as to even try to say ridiculous things like "I do understand the Tech".

Usb C to HDMI can be found for as little as 20 pounds and that is considering the manufacturer is already making a profit plus the profit the store is making plus the 20% VAT included.

So Don't try to justify the price of the Nintendo Dock, because there is no way to justify 80 pounds for it.

I am not going to start telling you what I do for a living because anyone can write here whatever they want and I have no way to prove it, but I know more about tech that you have known in your lifetime, I am quite sure you were not even born by the time I was already programming in basic.

So to have that kind of behaviour denotes clearly a person who is young and thinks he knows better.

The right price for the dock will be around the 49£ mark, by the way, if you think Switch is not mass production then tell me what it is, so the price is FAR for what you even suggest.

@misfitpierce Thanks, will google it

@shani The Problem is I want a second Dock not a better one, since I have a projector on a movie room set in my house and to play with friends there is perfect is a 120" so playing Mario Kart basically we all get a 60" screen hehehe but having to move dock and everything is a pain in the ass.

Re: Here's How Much Space ARMS Will Take Up On Your Switch

AlbertXi

@BionicDodo Yes That is What I did, I have preordered already because is Nintendo, but my point stands, I believe have a general bad price scheme for too many things.

The Dock for example is more expensive than a Pro controller, I am afraid is what this president is doing to nintendo.

Re: RiME On Switch Will Run At 720p In Both Docked And Portable Modes

AlbertXi

@bilboa If the game Works at 720p in portable mode it should at least work in 900p in Dock mode, you are getting 50% increase in GPU power and since we are talking about JUST upping the resolution not framerate or anything else then there is NO excuse.

Is like you tell me that you change and old 750ti for a 1080ti and the game can't run at better resolution.

Re: Rainway In Talks With Nintendo Regarding PC Game Streaming On Switch

AlbertXi

@AlexOlney I Don't doubt that, but the way is being praised or promoted is like this will sell more Switch or is the second coming.

This believe me will be used by less than 1% of the owners of the Switch, will be a lot more appealing to have netflix or a web browser on it and Nintendo doesn't see that as a priority.

Re: Rainway In Talks With Nintendo Regarding PC Game Streaming On Switch

AlbertXi

@Einherjar Because this can be done FOR AGES with better and cheaper systems and it has never caught up.

So why is so hard to understand that some of us don't see any absolutely any benefit in this.

Why would ANYONE with a good pc will like ot play trought stream on another TV with much worst quality and lag issues?

Yeah I spend 1200$ on my new rig to go and play on the other room trough streaming at worst quality maybe less resolution worst audio and lag issues, yes sure it makes total sense.

Re: Rainway In Talks With Nintendo Regarding PC Game Streaming On Switch

AlbertXi

@skywake The difference to me is the Philosophy behind a game for switch which thinks about both modes and games that were no thought for portable mode.

Plus some people think they are going to play their PC games anywhere this will only work half decently if you play in the same network.

Well, I know time will show how this won't go anywhere.

Re: Rainway In Talks With Nintendo Regarding PC Game Streaming On Switch

AlbertXi

@gcunit My Point is If I want to play my PC games I will play them on my pc why would I like to play them Streamed? or on a tiny screen?

Many of those games were no thought as portable they are suppose to be experienced with amazing sound and 4K if possible.

If I want to play Nintendo games then I use any of my 2 switch, I honestly don't see the appeal here, as I said maybe I am missing something.

Re: Rainway In Talks With Nintendo Regarding PC Game Streaming On Switch

AlbertXi

I Don't understand why this is seen as a game changer, as fair as I understand (correct me if I am wrong) all this app will do is stream the games I have ON MY OWN computer to the switch.

I honestly don't see the appeal on that and is something you can do for a long time.

Even a GPD win will do it without any special app.

What am I missing here?
