Re: Review: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Switch)

AJ81

Picking my copy up from Best Buy tommorrow (thank you Gamers Club). Never played it but the fact that I can play it in chunks on the go (like listening to a book on Audible) makes me extremely excited to dive in. Been re-watching all the LotR movies this week too.

Re: Poll: Which is the Best Super Mario Game?

AJ81

Super Mario World and Odyssey. Best Christmas ever was when I got a SNES early for Christmas with SMW, Mario Kart, FZero, and the Super Scope 6. Then it was Mario 64 and Goldeneye years later. Now I've got kids and my son gets to play as Mario-Rex in Odyessy and thanks to the assist mode he's really digging MK8D and he loves Arms.

Re: Review: Sonic Mania (Switch eShop)

AJ81

Game really surprised me. Grew up with the Sega Genesis and Sonic but never got a Sega CD so I missed out on Sonic CD. This game is well worth the $20 and I'd gladly put down another $20 or so for a physical version.

Re: Poll: 99 Games and Counting - Are You Pleased With the Switch eShop Library?

AJ81

Got around 25 eshops plus 8 physical versions. I still love my 3ds and have at least 2 games I'll be buying for that (MH Stories and Metroid). I no joke am closing in on 200 eshop games for the 3ds, with around 40 of those being digital versions of retail games. I'd definitely love some madden on the switch and also some marvel vs capcom.

Re: Nintendo Download: 10th August (North America)

AJ81

Very interested to try MH Stories. Fantasy Life is a top 10 game of all time for me so I'm hoping its got a FL vibe/flavor to it, but with monsters. Also Sonic Mania is an absolute must download for me. Sept is gonna be $$$ with MH Stories, Metroid, Rayman DE, and MvC: Infinite.

Re: Editorial: The Switch eShop Library is Starting to Look Like the Real Deal

AJ81

Have about 25 dl games already but am a little disappointed that games like Pocket Rumble have taken (and are still taking) a long time to hit the shop. Local multiplayer is a HUGE point of interest for me because of the kiddos and i hope more and more developers take advantage of the switch's ability to support local coop gaming in the home and on the go.

Re: Wisdom Tree Wants To Inflict Noah's Ark On The World, Again

AJ81

@NintenerdCentral, ditto. I'm a Christian and serve as a young adult pastor for a local church. I've always admired Nintendo for being a little more "family friendly" than othrr companies. I try and read Plugged In's reviews of games before I buy and IMDB's parent's guide/listing of adult content for movies has been a great help as well. Granted in Zelda you pray to a goddess statue, but at least when my son kills an enemy they just evaporate. We're also really enjoying Arms right now and me, the wife, and son played Triforce Heroes the other night using DL play on our 3ds/2dses. Kudos to that game for being a great local team-building experience.

Re: Review: Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas (Switch eShop)

AJ81

My son loves zelda and i let him hack and slash monsters on BotW sometimes. Could anyone tell me if this'd be a good game for a pre-schooler to play- simple controls, no blood, etc.? I've been looking for an easy adventure game he could kindof play by himself on the switch.

Re: Nintendo Infographic Outlines Switch and 3DS Games for 2017

AJ81

Right now my top 3 games that I own and consider "AAA" titles are: BotW, MK8D, Arms. Day 1 purchases are: Spla2oon, Sonic Mania, Odyessy, NBA2k18, Rocket League, Lego MSH 2, Rayman DE. I might pick up Skyrim (never played it) and Mario+Rabbids. I'm just now really getting into some anime so fingers crossed that the new DBZ fighting game makes it to switch. Also, (in my dreams) a MvC Anthology/Collection and/or MvC:I. I picked up USF2 day 1 and i knew what i was getting (big SF fan) but man even after tempered expectations and getting over the price point I still feel letdown. Oh well, i have injustice 2 on the xb. Now thats how you do a fighing game.

Re: Review: ARMS (Switch)

AJ81

Day #2 with ARMS. Just watched my kid whoop up on 99 fighters and then lose to the 4 armed dude in 100 mode. And this is why I bought a Switch. Seeing the smile spread across his face as he was punching furiously with the joycons. Playing that 100 mode with Ninjara made him feel like a Power Ranger (he loves the show). So well done, big N- you've given made a new original game that is a pure blast to play and that can be enjoyed by my entire family. (and its portable!)

Re: Review: ARMS (Switch)

AJ81

Got Arms today (Amazon Prime) and some yellow joycons (Best Buy). Just got whooped by my 4 yr old and his Ninjara fighter. Awesome family game and a great purchase. I missed out on Splatoon for the Wii U so bring on Spla2oon now...hopefully the 4 yr old can play that one too. Now I have to go figure out how my Kid Cobra is going to get a W against 4yroldara.

Re: Review: Garou: Mark of the Wolves (Switch eShop / Neo Geo)

AJ81

Ive got this, Sam Showdown 4, and KOF 98. My 4 yr old loves fighting games and he's all about Showdown 4. I wont let him play KOF due to the girl with the bouncing boobs. I grew up with SF2 and never got into the SNK games- my first one was SNK vs Capcom on the Dreamcast. Im coming into this with a pretty much blank slate and am interested in finding out which one I like the best.

Re: Nintendo Download: 11th May (North America)

AJ81

Garou for me, got usf2 on preorder and cant wait to introduce my son to that game- i never played alot of the neo geo games and ive heard garou was one of the best snk fighters- now come on capcom and give me my dream game- Marvel vs Capcom Anthology (and Switch versions of SF3 Alpha and SF4 Arcade while youre at it)!!!!

Re: Review: NBA Playgrounds (Switch eShop)

AJ81

Downloading now....purchased it in hopes that it is somewhat NBA Jam-like, still remember the crazy Bill Clinton code in Jam, my dad thought it was hilarious watching Bill dunk it from across the court- would loooove some crazy codes like that for this game

Re: Feature: The Biggest Nintendo Switch Retail Games of 2017 - Spring Edition

AJ81

Ultra SF2. SF2 was the first game I ever bought for the SNES. I would love to see Marvel vs Capcom come to the switch but im not holding my breath. Im hyped for Arms but also a little cautious. Other than Mario O., i guess id say spla2oon. Never played it on the wii u and got a switch (finaaallly)- after the global test fire. Also pretty pumped for MK8D, which i have on the wii u with all the dlc but looking forward to battle mode and portability. I had fast racing neo on the wii u with all the dlc and bought fast rmx today and gotta say- WOW. I was real hesitant about getting it but i was super impressed playing it in tablet mode. The HD rumble really stunned me. I felt like i had one of those sit in arcade cabinets (the ones that vibrated and moved like Afterburner) in my hands. MK8D in April and USF2 in May. Im good for now.

Re: Poll: A Month of Nintendo Switch - Do You Think It's Heading for Success?

AJ81

Just bought a switch but already have tons of hrs sunk into the wii u version of botw....the game is sooooo good though that im actually kinda hyped to restart the adventure on the switch. Getting world of goo and snipperclips as soon as the switch gets delivered. Thatll probably be it till mk8d arrives. I love the wii u and itll be hooked up for years to come but my boy is 4 yrs old and im hoping the switch will be his "NES". As a family gamer who is looking for more of a fun activity that I can share with my kids, im very excited for the switch and the potential it has. I just cant justify spening hrs infront of the xbox anymore, especially when the kids are home. I want games we can play together and that we can all enjoy. Im counting on Nintendo to continue to produce quality titles that can be a shared couch coop experience, but on the go. Arms, spla2oon, and even the SF2 remake make me excited for the summer.

Re: Nintendo of America Says to Check Retailers as More Switch Stock is On the Way

AJ81

I dont have any plans to buy a Switch yet but PLEASE Nintendo- have them available for Black Friday and the holiday season 2017. I really, really want to play Splatoon, Mario and co. with my kids on Christmas morning. In the meantime, Im slowly buying games and accessories for it (got Zelda, a hori stand, screen protectors already). I love Nint. but Im gonna be really ticked if there are switch shortages come Christmas.

Re: "No Widespread Technical Problems" With Switch Joy-Cons, Claims Nintendo

AJ81

I love NIntendo, I really do. Been a Nintendo kid since the NES and nothing makes me happier (when it comes to videogames) than playing games like Zelda, Mario and Metroid, but I'm a little leary of Nintendo hardware launches. I get software issues or anything that can be solved with a patch/update but I dont undertand hardware defects. Isnt that what a good QC dept is for? I will def buy a switch at some point in 2017 but I just dont feel comfortable being an early adopter anymore with nintendo. I love the big N but Im a little disappointed with them and Im voicing that by not buying a switch right now.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch Has Started Well - Now the Real Challenge Begins

AJ81

I love my Wii U and have close to 50 digital games on it- i really hope there is going to be a way to get discounted copies of the digital games i already own on the U for the switch- i havent bought a switch yet but have started buying games and accessories for it because who am i kidding- i will buy one at some point- Arms looks intriguing and while MK8 Deluxe is 90% the same game I will no doubt buy it- i have a 4 yr old at home and I have to appreciate Nintendo's mentality- theyre a videogame company first and foremost and they sell "fun"- i grew up with the NES and loved less mainstream games like Capt Skyhawk and Silver Surfer- hope there's some real hidden gems on the switch- when i do buy the switch (fingers crossed for a Christmas/Black Friday zelda SE!!!!) it'll be a game console that me, my son and daughter and wife can all enjoy together and that create alot of great family memories, as I did playing mario/duck hunt all night with my dad (who is definitely not a gamer) and playing Super Mario World and Mario Kart on the SNES from Santa with my brother and sister when I was a kid

Re: Feature: Thoughts on the 3DS as It Reaches Its Fifth Anniversary

AJ81

My first one was the black 25th Zelda Anniversary edition. My next one was the blue Smash Bros XL and now I have a black new 3ds xl. It's decked out with custom zelda emblems on a background of green lightning. Even has a triforce symbol under the d-pad. The smash Bros one has a personal note to my son under the notes section of the home screen and will be his when he gets older. Fantasy Life, Mario 3D Land, Steamworld, Mario Kart 7..... The first zelda game I ever played was OOT 3D on my 3ds. Its right up there with the SNES, original Gameboy and NES. Simply gaming magic.
